GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there is still a great deal of the lack of the circulation being equally distributed through the upper and lower portions of the body.
-
While the adjustments or osteopathic treatments have been and are very good, a great deal of massage will be found to be most beneficial; of the lower portion of the body, especially the lower limbs, massaging away from the body, as well as the lower portion of the abdomen, and especially across the back, of course.
-
For the massaging we would use a combination of Olive Oil and Oil of Pine Needles; two parts Olive Oil and one part Oil of Pine Needles.
-
Also we would continue the colonics so long as there is the indication of mucous.
-
The body should keep quiet, but not necessarily at all times in bed. However, do not attempt to take long walks nor to have any special activities that would cause a mental or physical exertion as to overtax the circulation between liver and the heart’s activity.
-
A diet principally of buttermilk and bananas would be most beneficial for the body; this to be used for periods of at least five to six days at a time. But when the body is off of such a diet, do not overload the system with starches or meats. Fish or fowl in small quantities, soups and raw vegetables, are preferable. [GD’s note: Sister told us later that Mrs. [409] was unable to eat the bananas and buttermilk.]
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Why can’t I sleep when I am sleepy? (A) As indicated, the circulation?
-
(Q) What causes swelling in stomach and legs? (A) The circulation not in proper condition.
-
(Q) Does this cause the shortness of breath during night, and choking? (A) This at times causes such; hence the rubbing of the extremities - hands and arms as well as the lower limbs - is beneficial at such times.
-
(Q) Are osteopathic treatments and colonics being given properly? (A) As indicated.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/12/40 Phone request by sister, Mrs. [1850]: “Believe she’s worse than she’s ever been; unconscious all yesterday, partly unconscious this morning; is unable to go for osteopathic treatments or colonics, but kept them up as long as she was able to get downtown. Has been trying to menstruate for last few days without results; blood pressure still 250; almost blind, can hardly see; unable to urinate without great straining; doctors say no chance for her to get better; Dr. Wood in Berkley is giving her Digitalis every four hours, has been doing it for last few days. She took Digitalis from Dr. Moncure before she had her Reading, but stopped it then - until the last few days. They say she has dropsy, and high blood pressure, heart trouble, etc. However, her flesh is again soft and flabby, instead of hard like it was when we first began the rubs. We’ve kept up the rubs religiously. We want to call in a Dr. Whitehill who has helped a man near us who was suffering in a way similar to [409], but he won’t come unless Dr. Wood calls him - and he won’t do it, but we’re going to try again. [409] said Mr. Cayce is the only one who can possibly help her; we didn’t know he was back from his trip until the other day when the lady called to help with our reports. [Questionnaires to be filled out by all those in the family who had obtained rdgs.] Whenever [409] was conscious, she has been after us to fill out the report blanks, but I’ve waited until last Sunday so she could help us - while I was off from work - but she wasn’t able to. Phone me back 46319.”
- What will bring on menstruation - will that help her?
- Would it be alright to have her bled - to bring down blood pressure?
- Why has not body responded to treatment?
- Is there any chance for her to get better?
- May strain on bladder be relieved?
- What causes loss of vision?
- Would it still be helpful to have the osteopathic treat- ments and colonics if they can be secured at home?
