This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 21st day of December, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - Madison Byron Wyrick.

Time of Reading Bosque County, 8:35 P. M. Dayton Time. Texas.

1. GC: Now you will have before you the well being drilled on the land owned by Madison Byron Wyrick in Bosque County, Texas. You will please given us the present depth to which this well is drilled, and the depth with the log that will be necessary to drill before they reach production, giving the volume of production that will be obtained, and the approximate value of the field, counting this as a discovery well, and tell us how long it should take a drill to the production, and if there are any unusual conditions, or hazards, to overcome before reaching production. You will answer any other questions that may be asked before you will say, “We are through.”

2. EC: The present depth to which this has been drilled is thirty-nine hundred twenty-one (3921) feet from the top of the ground.

3. The present formation we see is of heavy black lime, and through this some twenty-nine (29) feet we will again encounter a hard formation, breaking into a gray shale, with sand and lime, and through this some thiry-two (32) feet we will find the heavier grayer and black lime, and through this fifty-eight (58) feet we would encounter the production. It will be heavy gas pressure and producing in the beginning between three (3,000) and thirty-five hundred (3,500) barrels of oil, being 38.5/8 gravity, and will increase after this begins to flow.

4. The cost of this well, as we see, in proportion to the value of the field, will be as one to fifteen hundred. The extent of the field will be large, though the depths are of the nature that makes production higher. The character of the drilling is good, and the troubles that may be encountered are from gas pressure, or from the troubles of carrying too much water when gas begins, and this clogging tools or sand lines. These we would be careful of.

5. Drill in, in the manner as has been outlined, and we will find the production, and will be worth the trouble as has been expended on these operations.

6. (Q) Approximately, how long will it take to drill to production? (A) Five to six days of drilling. There will be some changes to be made in position of engines, fires, etc., that takes time, you see.

7. (Q) Will you give us any more information that will insure the success of this well? (A) Follow these. We will be assured of success.

My dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I received your special delivery of the 20th this afternoon, and was indeed glad to hear from you. I certainly do thank you for your kindness and consideration, and for your writing me as you have. I am sorry indeed to note that you are having trouble with this ice and storms. I’m in hopes that you will be able to overcome these conditions. I’m sure it keeps you busy and going practically all the time.

You may be sure what you tell me about the well is very interesting, and I felt that I would like to have this just as soon as possible, so concluded to take it this evening, that I might get what was gotten to you as soon as possible. This, I think, seems to be rather a bit more explicit as to depths and formations. I notice the reading varies somewhat as to the depth you gave. This may be accounted for by the distance from the floor to the ground. Whether this is correct or not, of course you will be better able to judge than I. At least it will be very interesting to the operator. It seems, however, that there’s no need for us to worry about the ultimate success, and if we are to believe the valuations it will be worth while, though it’s not an unreasonable valuation, should the production be as large as given, or the specific gravity as great as given.

I’m still hoping and believing you will get a well there yet.

I’m glad to say that I am feeling better than even when I last wrote you, and I certainly want to thank you very much for the enclosure. It will certainly make things very much nicer for me for Christmas, for the time I was unable to work as has certainly depleted our ex-checker.

My dear Cayce:

Coming to you again for information regarding our well. We have drilled to a depth 40 feet beyond the maximum depth given in your reading Sunday the 21st.

The formation checks in accordance with the reading. The fact, everything checks out except the point at which production will be had. I wish you would find out why the depth to the production as given in several previous readings has not been correct; also if it is possible to get an accurate reading on depth to production and if so at what depth we may now expect it.

We have changed men and have kept the tools and equipment in order all in accordance with information had from these readings and I would love very much to know how much deeper we must go, for it means more financing and that is getting to be the big problem.

Please give me the reading as soon as convenient, mailing it to me here and if anything very definite give me that by wire.
