1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personality of that entity known as [539].

2. In entering, we find astrologically those influences in Pisces, and in the planetary influence of Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Mars and Uranus. These influences in the present experience, however, have been altered in many directions; hence we may find those conditions in the experience of the entity from the mental body that become conflicting with impulse, and that which has been conceded by the mental body as the course of activity in the present experience, yet much that operates, as we say, as urges to the entity is manifested in the activities of the entity in the present.

3. From Pisces there are those conditions at certain periods when the lower limbs and feet cause some uneasiness, and the greater accidents (minor as they may have been) were through those same extremities. [See 539-3 Reports.]

4. In Jupiter we find the greater influence; especially has it been in the choosing of that mode or manner of expression of the entity in the present experience, or the influences that caused the choosing of that profession or relationship that would exist by the activities of the body among its fellow man. This also finds much in the manner of choosing the expressions through that gained in the relationships with individuals, in the impulses that arise from the sojourns in Venus, Mercury, and in Uranus.

5. These influences, that have been acted upon by the correlating of the mental abilities of the entity in the present, will or must be dependent upon the manner in which the entity, or body mentally and physically, reacts to those conditions that the planetary influence will bring as experiences to the entity, especially in the next two or three years. Beginning with the middle of the present month, there will be the exercising of an astrological influence upon entities that have been sojourners of Jupiter and Uranus, with Mercury, by those positions the planets occupied as related to such individuals in their present experience; so that the greater possibilities, with an insight mentally, with the love influence, will bring to bear those experiences where the broader visions may be the entity’s experience, and thus giving that period of activity in those directions of psychic influence that may be used to the developing of greater abilities in the entity’s experience.

6. Those influences seen in this relation from Venus make for that tendency of affability of the body mentally, physically; the greater ability to be or not to be, dependent upon the activity of the will as respecting same, a good mixer among the associates; not as a great leader among men, but rather as one to whom often individuals would turn (when allowed) for counsel, advice and guidance. These will be magnified also during this especial period, when Jupiter with Uranus and Venus make for their greater influence in the experiences of those sojourners in that planetary environment.

7. The Uranus influences have brought those tendencies for the entity, the being in the present, to often seek - for periods - what may be termed “the straight and narrow way,” of ethics, policy, politic, and the like; and the same influences have at other periods brought the desire to break away from the bonds of any nature that would prevent the expanding of the causes and causations, of that influencing individuals about the entity, as well as that which would make for bonds to self, either in ethics, in morals, in any direction, whether as in reference to relationships with individuals, things, groups, or what.

8. Then, this makes for many of those turmoils that have arisen in the experience of the entity in the present.

9. The possibilities and probabilities of this being turned into a channel, a period of greater length in the present, when stabilization of the mental forces has reached those periods, make for the opportunities where the greater work as an associate among men, as a developer for the consciousness of the soul’s activity in the experience of material and mental relationships, will be done; and there will be the more commanding and demanding upon the entity for decisions, and decided activity.

10. These are personalities, then, that are manifested under the influences astrologically, and that have been builded:

One capable of seeing beauty depicted in all expressions in nature, whether the bug about its lowly activity of cleansing the conditions about man, or the beauty of song in music, whether reed or string, or the beauty in the rose, the sunset, the stream, or in the awakening of nature as it illustrates to man the new birth into another experience in the material conditions.

12. One that makes friends easily, and that loses them often as easily; quick tempered oft, but this has been tempered much in self.

13. One having set ideas oft; as illustrated in the changes, this has been tempered oft.

14. One of high mental capabilities, and loving peoples and their activities rather than things; yet things dealing oft with the activities of the entity in its relationships to others.

15. One that loves expressions in the very joy of life and living, desiring oft to find expression in play or the exercising in those directions. This has been changed much by circumstance, conditions in the experience of the entity, and duty has ever stood, whether in relationships to those that are friend or foe, rather than the gratifying of pleasures for self.

16. As to the appearances, then, and their influences upon the experiences in the present as related to both the astrological and that which is called (psychologically) hereditary and environmental in the present experience:

17. In the one before this, in the present land of the entity’s indwelling the entity was among those that aided in the defense of that known as Fort Dearborn. In the name Beadle, or Bedell, did the entity minister much to the needs of those peoples in this experience that suffered in body, as in want in the material things that supplied those necessities for sustenance of life; as well as in the bodily and physical defense during that period when the rout brought those groups in their attempt to join the southern forces, and the entity was among the group that in the waters of the Ohio lost their lives in the ice and its floe; hence that particular or unseeming influence that comes to the entity as a dread, with the grinding of the ice floe, or the tramp of the horse in the snow that crunches, that makes for some awakening that seems far distant or latent in the exercising of a peculiar influence upon the entity. The entity gained through the experience, and brought much of that in counsel that pointed to those groups in the material affairs to look to the higher sources for that which would comfort when strifes, turmoils, hardships, sufferings weighted down many to the point of resentment, even at their own lot. In the present from this experience there is that which makes for a longing for and a seeking of quietude, that is seldom ever granted. Farther away has this been gradually put, by the entity’s environs, the entity’s duties, the entity’s surroundings. These influences, then, make for that which often stabilizes. When others are in turmoil, the entity becomes quiet; when others are in harmony or in quiet, the entity seeks or feels for a moving on. Is there any wonder, then, that to this same land, and to the near surroundings, there comes a call? yet, as we find, larger fields must open for the expression of that the entity feels, in the mighty urges or change that must soon come about.

18. In the one before this we find in that land known now as the Fatherland Germany?], during those periods when there were the exchanging or the bringing about of those periods when the peoples rose in defense of the Holy Land. The entity was among those Crusaders, then, that led in the way; and was known as The Thunderbolt, that rode with those peoples to that sacred land. In the experience the entity lost and gained, and lost; for the gratifying rather of impulse than principle brought those of destructive influence. The counsel, kindnesses, and that shown in a strange land, brought rather the recurrent or retractory forces in the experience of the entity, and the entity gained through that portion; losing only when the gratifying of self brought rather against punishments, but developing from same much of that impulse for the good of the many at the expense of the few OR many in the present.

19. In the experience then before this, we find in that land known now as the Arabian or Persian, during those periods when there were the gathering of those in the plains for the ministry to the peoples far and near of the tenets, the lessons, the material applications of that entity Uhjltd. The entity then was among those who led in the ministry of the weak, the infirm, and aided in bringing many to that knowledge, that understanding of those truths which applied in the experience of an individual brought peace, harmony, understanding to that soul, that mind, that physical body; hence the entity developed through the period, as Omegahrdht. In the present may be seen much of that innate, felt, found, understood, that even in the ministry to those in pain, whether physical, mental, or what, there must be the awakening of the inner self for an understanding of the abilities that lie within self, that another may aid in making aware of that it seeks is either good or bad for the entity. Quite an accomplishment!

20. In the one then before this we find in that period when there were the uprisings in the land now known as the Egyptian, and when there was the return of the priest to the land for the raising up of those standards that had trailed through those turmoils and strifes which arose. The entity then, as Pth-Lani, came WITH the priest as one that sought to uphold the hands of the priest in the way of ministering to those that sought to consecrate themselves in body and mind to those tenets, those lessons, those truths that were propounded by the priest in the restoration of the relationships between the peoples and the truths from the Most High. The entity also aided in the laying of much in the pyramids in that period, and should be an interpreter of that given to the world as a lasting memorial of the relationships between man and man, man and the Creative Forces; and that it brings through being at an at-oneness with, instead of at an at-variance with, Creative Energy in a material world. The entity gained throughout this experience; and still may there be seen that that was laid up, of the entity’s activities, in the tomb or the small granary, or obelisks yet to be uncovered in the small or first pyramids of beryl.

21. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, that to which it may attain, and how:

22. Many are the contacts that have been made in the present for relationships throughout the experiences of the entity in the earth’s indwelling. Many are the preparations made for the activities in that period when the greater service to man, to its Maker, to the developing of the consciousness of its soul development, lies before the entity. How may this be accomplished?

23. Know in whom, in what, thou hast believed, even as in Egypt. Know that He speaks to His sons in the present, even as in those experiences. Listen to the voice within, as it is awakened to the music of the spheres by the incoming of those forces that protect in those relationships through astronomical, astrological, and the influences as builded by self in its application of that known as TO the relationships now.

24. Use, then, that thou hast in hand, step by step. Be not impatient with self, or others. Love Him first and foremost.

Inclosed you will find a copy of a few comments [see below] on your Life Reading. I hope they will prove of interest to you. During my study of this type of data I have not only found them fascinating but extremely helpful. I will be only too glad to try and answer any questions you may ask or clear up any part of the reading or comments which is not entirely clear. Much of the data may be elementary to you but I find it very hard to estimate just where to begin in a discussion of this nature. If this be the case please bear with me and through the questions give me an opportunity to go further.

If you happen to have a copy of a horoscope reading on yourself I would very much like to see it. I will be glad to take special care of it and return same to you. The question on Pisces puzzles me as well as the number of major planets which influence your present experience.

Your interest and cooperative spirit is greatly appreciated by us all. Your interest inspires Dad and helps keep awaken the desire to carry on. COMMENTS ON THE LIFE READING OF [539]

In the beginning it would be well to understand the terms ‘entity’ and universal forces as used in this reading. The entity is the term used to denote a complete individual. The normal individual may be said to have a physical body with a conscious mind, a spiritual body with a subconscious mind and a soul which is the spark of the Creator present in every living human being. The soul may be said to differ from the spirit of life in the degree of vibration, as the hut from the cathedral. The word entity is inclusive, meaning the whole, the complete individual. Universal forces means those laws, guards which an all wise Creator has set about not only this sphere called earth, but about the particles of matter whirling through space which we call planets, asteroids, stars, etc. As each entity applies the factor of will throughout the varied experiences of development they build definite relations with these universal forces.

The astrological influences mentioned in the second paragraph indicate that you have passed through experiences upon five of the outstanding planets, but also that the influences from the sojourns upon these spheres have been changed through the application of the will forces in the present physical existence. For example anger, a physical expression of an emotional disturbance, has been curbed and controlled in spite of the fact that when the influence of Mars becomes prevalent there are inclinations for such expressions. The reference to Pisces, which you have doubtless noticed does not coincide with regular astrological calculations, may indicate the sign under which your soul entered this solar system from some other constellation.

As Jupiter brings a breadth of vision, high ideals, so your experience upon this planet brings to you that tendency to select a profession which serves mankind, and tempers your attitude toward your fellow men in the expressions of the influences from Venus (love), Mercury (mind), and Uranus (occult, interest in). At such times or periods when these planets draw closest to one another, near the earth, and in line with the Sun such activities find the greatest ease of expression.

There is every indication in the fifth paragraph that the conjunction of these planets which began about the fifteenth of this month will bring you greater opportunities during the next three years for spiritual development. The mind is ever the builder, for you will always be able to choose to use or misuse such opportunities.

The sixth and seventh paragraphs indicate the direct influences of Venus and Uranus respectively. The first brings, or rather magnifies, the natural mental and physical graces of the human body that attract and are pleasing to other individuals. The word charm probably conveys the nearest correct meaning. Here too the will force is the guiding factor.

The Uranian influence causes the extreme tendencies which as indicated here find expression in periods of strictness with self in relation to duties, conventions, etc., while at other periods there arises the tendency to break away from such restrictions that suddenly seem narrow and binding. The short eight and ninth paragraphs show that this influence has caused many of the disturbances, mental, emotional or otherwise that have occurred in your life. With the growing attraction and balancing of these influences in the approaching period of life more opportunities will arise for mental decisions, in fact the necessity of such decisions is indicated. There is every indication that your mental forces are so developed that the results may well be turned into the channels of development both for yourself and those about you.

The next section of the reading devoted to a discussion of the personal traits which are manifested in the present experience are considered from the standpoint of that which you have builded in past experiences plus the astrological influences upon such urges in the present. Hence, it would be well to consider through the imagination the type of life of each of the experiences mentioned and correlate the urges from each with the influence from each of the major planets. Consider also that the will has played an important part in molding and controlling these mixed urges. The resulting expressions are the personality, so called.

The remarks concerning those personal traits are quite clear. Only you or someone very close to you could tell whether or not they are accurately pointed out. As you well know the study of personality, involving as it does so many mental turns and twists, is though interesting discouragingly indefinite. Experience has taught us that the accurateness of these readings in such matters will become more and more apparent with a thorough self analysis.

FORMER APPEARANCES

The historical background of the massacre at Fort Dearborn (Chicago) offers a good study for this period. It is especially interesting to us here because of my father’s experience there. [See 294-8, etc.] There is, peculiarly enough, the same dislike of the crunch of ice as indicated in your reading. The death of the group who escaped from the fort must have been horrible. There is a reference in your reading to the attraction of this particular portion of the country because of this appearance. I believe I would be correct in assuming that sudden deaths, periods of hardship and the like exercise a definite attraction, especially for Uranians who either return on the other side of the earth from such experiences or return to the same location. In my father’s life there have been periods of attraction for the area around Chicago, even the offering at one time of a site for a hospital there. The influence of such experiences over environmental conditions will some day make a study which will change many of our present day concepts of environment and its influence upon man.

The urge coming from this appearance is a peculiar one. The development came doubtless in the service rendered to those oppressed and in the closeness to nature (refer to personal traits). In the present the ability to balance others mental conditions by expressing the exact opposite reaction. I imagine a valuable asset to one in your profession. There is every indication toward the end of this paragraph that you will make a change, or certainly consider making a change in abode, in the near future.

CRUSADE

This particular appearance is especially interesting to me as my own life reading indicates a Crusade experience. If it be the same Crusade, and there are certain statements that indicate that it was, the reference is to the second of the four great attempts to retake the Holy Land from the desert tribes. During this crusade a large group under German leadership (Fatherland) were captured by the Turks. I believe the reference to the treatment received there as, “The counsel, kindness, and that shown in a strange land, brought…” is to this capture. If this be so it definitely links your appearance with the second Crusade and a group of individuals who went on this Crusade on whom we have had life readings. The whole ideal of the Crusades furnishes the background for the urge which comes over from this experience for you, the sacrifice of the few for the many. Such is the basic ideal of scientific medicine, is it not? This historical background here also furnishes a brilliant field for study. I have found books by Lamb [Harold Lamb, Doubleday & Co.] and Becovii [Becovi?] helpful. The title of both of these books is “The Crusades”.

ARABIA

The Arabian experience mentioned in your reading is one of the most interesting periods so far described in life readings. The name of the leader, Uhjltd, mentioned in your reading definitely links your appearance with another period during which many individuals upon whom we have had life readings have been present. This period has a very definite influence on the work which my father is doing at the present time. Uhjltd (Edgar Cayce today) at that period, historically about 500 B.C., [Later we found it must have been nearer eight or nine thousand B.C. See 294-8, etc., 538-9.] was a leader of a group of desert nomad tribes. After the destruction of the tribes and many hardships he established a city in the plains where many came to be healed through the powers he developed and to study the truths which were propounded by him and those who aided. From a religious point of view this period is important as the beginning of the Zoroastrian religion, a grandson of Uhjltd. As you notice the urge from this appearance relates directly to your present occupation bringing a very helpful and powerful influence in the present. Your interest in this work, especially the physical readings, is partially a growth of this urge. (We are preparing a history of this period a copy of which will be sent you promptly upon completion. EGYPTIAN

This period is another which has a great bearing upon the work being carried on through Dad at the present time. The priest whose return is spoken of is today Edgar Cayce. The Arabian and Egyptian experiences are the ones in which this ability and understanding which makes possible the present psychic work were developed. At this period Dad became the high priest of Egypt, then troubles arose and there was a period of banishment. Upon the return of the priest in which your reading indicates a direct connection. There followed one of the highest spiritual civilizations ever achieved by man. Through the priest great spiritual truths were given to men by those who aided in the temple, hospitals, schools, etc., which were builded. It was during this period also that the Great Pyramid of Gizeh was constructed. All of the individuals who have contacted this work to any great extent have had appearances in Egypt at this time. Much of the karma being worked out in relation to the work as a whole comes from Egypt. According to the readings we are now on the verge of the period of rebuilding and will be able to give to the world again many of the great truths dispersed at that time. This can only be accomplished through the cooperation of all those who worked and labored for the progress of mankind at that time. There is every indication that unless your will prevents it you will be more closely connected with the work of the Association before very long. (I am glad to discover another who will be interested in joining the expedition which shall one day go out from our Association to study the Egyptian monuments which conceal so many of the truths which should be given to the world. This is not an idle ambition but a definite aim in the carrying out of which I some day hope to have the pleasure of cooperating with you.)

CAPACITIES

In the final paragraphs of your reading there is every indication of a high development which has brought about many broadening influences in the present life which fit you to go forward in the development of the soul forces. Throughout the whole world the change from material to spiritual interest will be felt, but especially will it be noticeable to those whose appearances and astrological influences indicate a development above the average along the lines of soul expression. This does not mean that all barriers will drop and the way will become clearly apparent, but that more and more opportunities for development and service will arise. Greater and greater, too, may be the individual struggle between the material and spiritual faculties, as in the world as a whole, but the spiritual power to carry on will support and aid those who desire and will that His Way be followed.

I cannot let the week go by without an attempt of expressing to you my deep appreciation of both your and your son’s beautiful service and help. The comments made by your son on my life reading has enabled me to understand the gist of them very much better. Then the readings that you gave during the week of the Congress Meet [5749-2; 5747-1; 5748-5; 5748-6, etc.] are in themselves so rich in information and helpful with their instruction that I must admit I haven’t fully digested it all. I ran across an article last nigh by this man Pelley [William Dudley Pelley] of whom you spoke recently, dealing with the construction of the large pyramid. Up to lately I had never given that type of study very much time, but your interest in them has awakened an interest within me.

I think that you are doing a most commendable work in lending yourself to giving these life readings. The reasons for my saying so must be very apparent to you so that I hardly need to go into that now. On the other hand, I have found your help thru the physical readings very valuable indeed. There shall be no doubt many opportunities in the future where you will be of help to me.
