This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, in Pinewood on Lake Drive, Va. Beach, Va., this 15th day of March, 1932, in accordance with request made by those present, through consent of her father, Mr. [1212], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 417 - 22nd St., 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Va. Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: We have the body here, [543] - this we have had before.

2. Now, as we find, there are those conditions which show for a betterment of the body, mentally AND physically.

3. As we will find, with the applications that have been given, as respecting the juices of the passion flower with the creating of the proper vibrations - that may be set by those magnetic electric forces which may pass into the system, these should bring about - PHYSICALLY - those that are of much more near normal reactions for the whole system.

4. In the application for those things that may act upon the mental and the spiritual body: The mental attitude is, and may be, changed MATERIALLY by that as may be held by concerted action of others - or of self. When these are in accord, there may be produced that as is DESIRED - or designed by the whole of those so holding such for the correction of the forces in system.

5. In the application of the electro-magnetic forces that come from the positive and negative forces of a body to a body, through the application of those forces that make for current forces in the system, there must be particular notice of the reactions of the organs-PHYSICAL that are involved in those changes as may come about. This the physical, mechanical activity, to be adhered to. There will be found that the various portions of the organs as involved - that make for pressures upon the nerve system, which act through those of the pineal direct to the organs of gentation in system - will react in the various ways, as the various stages of activity or impulse are created in the system. Hence these would be followed rather closely by the one USING such applications, and see that there is created - as near as possible - those of positive, coordinating forces in the system. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Was the treatment today [11:30 A.M.] by [295], in cooperation with the healing group and others, given properly? [See 281-4, Par. 18-A, 19-A, 25-A.] (A) As we find, this should be first - that the one MAKING applications for and of such treatments, that they - the one applying the treatments - are in proper accord THEMSELVES, see? and that that mechanically done is done as near properly as possible. Then the group, or WHOEVER may, accord with THEM - not the body according with the group. Let it aid the body in bringing that as is necessary for the body. See?

7. (Q) Was the body [295] in proper accord this morning? (A) Excellent!

8. (Q) Are there any suggestions in regard to the method of treatment? (A) As has been outlined, follow these very closely.

9. (Q) Should all other medicines be discontinued except the passion flower medicine? [See 543-11, Life Rdg., which advised it.] (A) This has been oft indicated; yet ARE [if there are] there those that become panicky, then there may be the necessity of OCCASIONALLY the use of that [Dr. Lafayette M. Hunter’s medicine] that will aid in producing sedative forces; yet these are LEAVING. If there is the proper assistance given to the body MAKING the applications, there will be no need of further medicine - other than that that attunes the body.

10. (Q) Will you give a meditation to hold at the hour the treatment is given? (A) This has been given. [See 262-10, Par. 23-A.]

11. (Q) Any other advice? (A) Do that, with the might, as is found to do, keeping or knowing - THROUGH those various channels - how the various activities of the system are affected, and are BEING affected by, that being created in the system. This may be had from day to day, or time to time, as is found by the body making the applications.

R1. MISS [295]‘S REPORT: “The first few days of applications brought wonderful reactions. The week passed rather favorably with [543] until Saturday, when she had several severe attacks. However, she always reacted nicely to the treatments, even on Saturday when she went peaceably to sleep as she did most of the time.

“Those about her were most frantic, though, on Saturday [3/19/32]. The medicine preferred by the parents [Dr. Lafayette M. Hunter’s medicine] had given out and though the order had been sent in some time before had not arrived and did not until the Wednesday following. The only thing on hand to prevent the attacks was the Maypop bitters suggested in the readings.

“Before Saturday, too, decided changes were noticed in the body of the one giving the treatments [295], in temperament becoming blue and melancholy, together with a nervousness. A form of rash breaking out on the body was also noticed. Whether these were caused by giving the treatments is not known.

“On the following Sunday [3/20/32] the treatment was given between 3:30 and 4:00 o’clock, when the entire study group met and meditated [[262] series] at the office of Mr. Cayce while the treatment was applied at the usual place, the home of Miss Annie Cayce. Good reactions were observed.

DAILY OBSERVATIONS:

“Monday, March 21st, 1932: [543] feeling very well. Spells have not returned. Good reactions from treatment.

“Tuesday, March 22nd, 1932: [543] about the same.

“Wednesday, March 23rd, 1932: [543] had severe attack at night; Doctor had to be called, also Mr. Cayce. (This happened the night previous). Nauseated all day. No food able to be retained. Medicine ordered came, which she took, two tablets being vomited up and three later retained. [See Par. R2 below.]

“Thursday, March 24th, 1932: [543] listless and dumb - had to be fed dinner. Scarcely seemed to know me when I gave her treatment. She went to sleep during treatment. Very strong current felt; vibrations good. Felt wobbly on returning home just before lunch. More breaking out apparent on my body. [543] had severe fall last night and looked pale and worn.”

R2. 3/23/32 EC’s ltr. to Mr. [1212]:

My dear Mr. [1212]:- I have yours of the 15th, also of the 22nd. I certainly appreciated your letter, and the cooperation that you and Mrs. […] are giving in trying to be of greater service to Miss [543]. I am sure she has appreciated it also.

Now, in respect to her condition, and just how the treatments have been carried on so far. As I wrote you, this is a development in our work - and as there have been some specific questions asked regarding just such conditions [See 281-4], we - to be sure - wanted Miss [543] to have advantage of this. All of us realize that it is quite an undertaking, and that it is going to be quite a hardship on Miss [543]; for having been under the influence of the medicine she has been taking for such a long time, it is quite hard to not want it when she feels depressed, or when she feels she might stay off some of the attacks; but she has gotten along beautifully until the eighth day - which was yesterday. She hasn’t been feeling quite so good, as she had had one or two severe attacks. Of course, we will not allow her to get sick, if it is possible, by withholding the medicine. Still, I believe Sister ordered it to have on hand if she should require it or need it. This morning during our hour of meditation, which is being followed out very consistently and persistently by about twenty of the group, she seemed to get a good deal of relief - was easy - perfectly easy, and when we left the house she was sleeping fine. I will let you hear from her right along. Of course, just at this time she is a little bit depressed, but we are going to do everything possible to rid her entirely of this disorder and trouble, and we believe the power of God is sufficient to do this, and if we are living right and praying right, it will be accomplished in her body. It may be necessary that she go through some little trials, some little torments even, for the desire of that which has only allayed and not cured - but His power can cure completely!

I want to thank you for the inclosure in yours of the 22nd. Sometimes it is very, very hard, Mr. [1212], to appeal to our friends - but when we are up against it, we are just up against it! and the changes that have been coming about have made it necessary. I thank you a thousand times for your consideration and wonderful cooperation.

Know that we all love Miss [543] and want to do anything and everything possible to bring about a perfectly normal body, if it is possible - and it is!
