This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 11th day of April, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [551] via Mr. [900].

Born August 8, 1897, in Meir, Minsk, Russia. Time of Reading 4:10 P. M. Dayton Time. …, N.Y.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities latent and exhibited in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those relations with the universe, and the universal forces, as are manifested in the earth’s plane in the present life, and the influences from those as are exhibited from sojourn in the earth’s plane, with those conditions for which the entity has merited or brought to itself, that may through the present earth plane be met with the will, the development in the passage through the plane at this time.

3. In this entity (the present earth’s plane) we have the fulfilling of that injunction as was given in the words of the great preacher, Solomon] “A high look, a proud heart, but the plowing of the wicked is sin.” [Proverbs 21:4] [An high look, and a proud heart, AND the plowing of the wicked, IS sin.]

4. In the present earth’s plane, through the entity’s sojourn, we have many different phases in development and in the manifestations of same, for in the present we find the position assumed from that of Mercury, with influences of Mars, Uranus and Neptune. One then desiring to create about self mysticism, or one not understood by others, yet presenting a bold face and position, and able to establish same in fact or by letter of law.

5. One who is given with many mental abilities. One who with appearances keeps the ennobling influence of religious thought paramount in secular action, yet weighted with those mystic forces as are found in Neptune and in the occult forces in Uranus. One with mental abilities to gain great wealth through the periods when we find Jupiter’s influence in that of Uranus and Neptune. One with doubts as to whether such monies would bring the better development, or the better aptitude for the DE-velopment rather than development.

6. One that we find is good in character reading of individuals. One we find who has been associated with individuals that have proven untrue in operations, though self not entangled in same.

7. One capable of handling many peoples when the correct principles are outlined for the individual. One who, with making the mental combine with the ennobling and the real forces of Universality, may give much to self development and to others.

8. One who will ever find the better relations, whether of social, mental or financial, in those that have to do with ecclesiastical relations, and rather those of the moral code.

9. One we find whose mentalities lie then in many directions. As to how these may be developed and brought to the usage of the present entity, we find same manifested through the various phases of development in the earth’s plane.

10. Then, as to appearances:

In the one before this, we find in the early days of the settling of Ukraine, when the Promised Land peoples were being distributed among those peoples who sought out the destruction of those people. The entity in the youth brought to Ukraine. Then in the name of Omri, and the entity then served in that capacity of the attendant to the power that sought the destruction, or the household of him who was a leader in the Crusade. In the development then, and in the personality, we find that ability to take orders, when given from the source that to the entity is unquestionable, and with the same we find the entity desiring freedom in thought and in action. Hence bringing to self the mysticism, or the unaccounted for, to many, of the secrecy of its (the entity’s) actions.

12. In the one before this, we find in the days of the rebuilding of the walls from the first time the destruction brought to Holy City. The entity then in that capacity of the scribe to the ruler. Then in the name Enlea, and the entity developed much in that day, and through the law and the giving of same to many peoples, and especially to those of the household of that faith. The personality then as exhibited in the present earth’s plane, the love of the letter of the law, the desire to always appear abiding by same.

13. In the one before this we find in the Mongolian peoples when the divisions in the lands brought the peoples together in that walled place, now near that of Sitar, in Mongolian, and the entity then in the name of Oibjuea. The development there through force rather than of self-will, and the entity only remained in that of the ne’er do well. In the present we find the personality is of the one seeking to acquire that through the labors of others with the information furnished by self.

In the one before this we find in the beginning of the peopling of the earth, near what was then called Babel, and the entity in that of Sitknar, and was in the household of the founder of the building then first begun. This was before the town afterward called tower was built on same site. The entity from this sojourn again finds the ability to think for self.

15. Then, as to the abilities of the entity, and how to apply them in the present earth’s plane:

16. First, seek to make self aright in spirit and in truth, through the Divine forces as relate to self and others. Then apply self to the usage of the abilities in self in no uncertain terms, seeking ever the welfare of others as of self. Never undermining, never underhanding, never giving cause for the doubt of the faith as lies in spiritual laws applied to the physical conditions, and in this manner, and through the channels the entity has chosen for its present work and labors, will come much of this world’s goods, for in the meridian of life we will find there will come the conjunction of the influences of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, with Neptune and Uranus, and in that month Nicen* [Nisan?] we will find there will come the greater amount of monies through the efforts of the entity.

17. Then, use that as given for the manifestations of the liberty as desired in self for those who depend directly upon the entity for liberty for themselves.

R1. 4/18/25 [551]‘s letter to EC:

”…Received your letter…and note with same your reading of my life which was perused with the greatest of interest. Some of the questions I am going to ask of you herewith will greatly be appreciated as I do not understand such points and meanings that I desire to be enlightened on.

“I am enclosing herewith a money order for $5.00. It isn’t much to send at this present writing but you can surely trust me that I’ll do my real bit toward your wonderful services as soon as things here with me brighten up.

“Please explain the following: [551-3, Par. 3]:

‘A high look, a proud heart, but the plowing of the wicked is sin.’ [Par. 5]: ‘One with mental abilities to gain great wealth through the periods when we find Jupiter’s influence in that of Uranus and Neptune.’

“‘One with doubts as to whether such monies would bring the better development, or the better aptitude for the DE- velopment rather than development.’

“a. When stated re: ‘periods when Jupiter’s influence in that of Uranus and Neptune’ - How can I determine or find out such given periods to guide me in such given times to make this wealth as stated, or what year and month, date, etc.?

“b. The following paragraph re: developments, etc., please make this clear to me.

“[Par. 6]: Yes sir, I’ve been in deals and have been wrongfully taken advantage of because thinking as I do; that to do good to another, so shall be done unto me. It just WORKED out the opposite.

“[Par. 8] re: ecclesiastical relations rather than those of the moral code? What is meant and how can I apply this class of people for my betterment?

“As to the previous entities, where can I read up on the biographies and history of the following characters as to enlighten me: Omri in Ukraine, Enlea in the Holy City, Oibjuea in Sitar, Mongolia and Sitknar in Babel.

“[Par. 16]: How can this spiritual law be applied and practiced so as to develop the desired personality so as to serve best?

“As stated on the following lines re: ‘for in the meridian of life…there will come the conjunction of the influences of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Mercury with Neptune and Uranus, and in the month of Nicen…there will come the greater amount of monies through the efforts of the entity.’ Please explain the meridian of life, when and at what year or time of my life with these planetary influences effect this meridian. What will be accomplished, how can I be aware of same, and if accomplished, what precautions shall I take to preserve this gain or accumulation of monies or worldly goods?

“The foregoing questions I am very anxious to learn of and how with your kind permission.

“Another question: I have always wanted to be a taller man. My height is now 5 feet, 3 1/2 inches. Is it possible or is there a way with which if applied or followed to increase my height? This may sound as an absurd question, but somehow you manage to answer or reveal facts that even supersede the powers of nature.

“Thanking you kindly for your enlightened work…”

R2. 4/22/25 EC’s letter to [551]:

”…I have yours of the 18th, for which I thank you. I also want to thank you for your contribution towards the work of the Association.

“Now, in reference to an explanation of the reading as given, I’ll try and give it to you as best I can from my own observation and from the understanding as I have received from the various readings as have been given for individuals from time to time.

“Now, the quotation, ‘A high look, a proud heart, but the plowing of the wicked is sin;’ this as you no doubt recognize is a quotation from the Proverbs of Solomon, and in making a personal application it would seem to infer this: Your ambitions are high, your heart and mind are inclined to those things of an excellent nature, but that the use of unstable people and conditions are sins. Second: ‘One with doubts as to whether such means would bring the better development or the better aptitude for the DE-velopment rather than development.’ That is, with this same condition as is spoken of in the first quotation, without the correct adjusting of self in spiritual matters, the bringing of high position, great deal of this world’s goods, might be for a DE-velopment or a dethroning of the higher principles of mind rather than a development of the spiritual nature.

“As you will notice, Mr. [551], in all of the readings, whether physical, mental and spiritual, or whether of the Life readings, the inclination and purpose of the reading and information given tends toward the development of the spirituality of the individual rather than toward material or carnal developments in the earth plane. So, when studying any of the conditions as given, I’m sure this must be taken into consideration and not taken literally, unless it is given literally as existent conditions.

”…As to when Jupiter will be in the aspect to Uranus and Neptune for the development in the wealth gaining influence, this I cannot tell. You will have to obtain this from an astrological map. These are given often in many of the almanacs, or you can obtain it from some good astrologer who has all of this data at hand. I have nothing of the kind, - but, whenever this is to occur, or does occur, this will be the time when there will be the greater possibilities for you to make a great deal of this world’s goods. Remember, however, it has already warned you as to the use you put these to when you receive them.

“[551-3, Par. 6]: This, I believe as you say, is self- explanatory. However, I believe you were incorrect in saying that it always worked out to one’s detriment to trust someone that we have reasons to believe are trustworthy. We mustn’t forget the nature of the trust of conditions and things.

“[Par. 8]: Ecclesiastical relations. I understand from this, you are especially adapted to deal with men who are in the position of being teachers and ministers, and this class of individuals would be the better associations for yourself, for with the high innate principles within there would come the answering call of the necessity of your following out the better inclinations in dealing with this class of people, and you would find it would be better to gain the ideas and ideals of such individuals rather than attempting to expostulate your own, and that by applying such in your life you can bring the better conditions in your relations with men in your everyday life. This I would advise you to do.

“I cannot give you any information as to where you may obtain a biographical history of any of the entities given in former appearances. There, of course, may be such histories but I have no knowledge of them. You should be able to obtain the information from the public library there. I know of one or two instances where individuals have been able to obtain information of this character from the references as were given in Life readings.

“[Par. 16]: I believe this has reference to the associations, such as are classified in the ecclesiastical relations. You will find when you are able to get the aspect of Jupiter and Neptune and Mercury, etc., that when these occur this will be the meridian, BUT this is given, as I understand it, the many different kind and phases of the aspect of this planetary condition, and as I understand the meridian of life means near the central portion of your life.

Therefore, I’m sure you will find when you get the conjunction of Jupiter, with Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Neptune and Uranus that these different phases cover several different years, and that they bring different aspects or different conditions, different environments in your life, with their different changes. The precautions as are given you are given you in the very first lines, and as I understand and have tried to explain, the environmental conditions will have a great deal to do with the use you put the monies that come into your hands, for from this there will come a great many opportunities for you to make money, when you should for your own good pass it up, and the question as to when you shall do this and when you shall not is again answered in the first opening paragraph. ‘The plowing of the wicked is sin.’

“As to how to increase your stature, I have never attempted anything of this kind, and in fact I do not believe, from my version and understanding of the work, that it is right and proper to do so, for always we have the same admonition as was given to Moses of old, ‘Take that thou hast in hand. Use that.’

“Now, I hope this has been sufficiently enlightening to you that you will gain a better understanding of your reading. I only wish I could sit down and talk to you about it. Should, however, there be any questions further than this that you would desire that I attempt to assist you in understanding, I’d be very glad to try and do so.

“Again thanking you for your kindly interest, and trusting that I may have the opportunity of knowing you in person and hoping that I have really been of some service to you…”

R4. 4/29/25 Mr. [257]‘s letter: ”…You surely got [551] exactly, as usual…”

R5. 9/74 [551] requested and received a copy of 551-3.

R6. 10/4/74 Mr. [551] sent $7.00 contribution with following note:

“Thank you, for the xeroxed copy of my Life Reading. Unfortunately I lost the original years ago and hoped when visiting you in Virginia Beach I shall ask for another copy.

“While studying my Life Reading (551-3) Prophecey:Personal: Economics [Par. 16] (Quote) ‘the entity has chosen for its present work & labors, will come much of this world’s goods, for in the meridian of life, we will find there will come the conjunction of the influence of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, with Neptune and Uranus and in the month of (Nicen) we will find there will come a greater amount of monies through the efforts of the entity. Then use that as given for the manifestation of the liberty as desired in self for those who depend directly upon the entity for liberty for themselves.’

“In 9/19/74 Letter from Gladys - that there are 13 Readings. The other 12 were unbeknown to me. I’m most thrilled of this. Is it asking too much to request 12 xeroxed copies of the others, so that I may study them for my guidance in my research. Also is it possible for you to recommend a reliable Astrologer in N.Y. City? to interpret for me the various planetary aspects for the timing elements in conjunction with my life’s work?

“As a youngster of 12 - I was a pupil in Public School. There I was given a booklet - The Palmer Method of Good Penmanship. I was efficient, and was awarded a diploma for my improved handwriting. However, the chap next to me was a failure. I asked him why - he answered that his writing-hand couldn’t respond what was asked to follow in the instructions. This made me think. Then suddenly, I had a strong urge to find out why he failed to respond. From that moment on, to this moment of writing this letter to you, has taken 65 years of constant intelligent research - using carloads of pads, testing, trying to solve the mystery why people are careless scribblers. The cause of which, is that the tricky writing structure of the English Alphabet. I have developed a means to overcome this, whereby the masses will be able to instantly learn to master … Control writing Art, to create beautiful penmanship. This coincides with my Life Reading - Amazing!!! I hereby pledge to be a constant gracious benefactor to our Edgar Cayce Foundation - This will make me a happy man!”
