As we find, the mode, the manner that has been directed - using the X-Ray; yes, the Radium once - will be the better in the present.

(Q) Considering Doctor’s examination shows vagina full of cancer, and nothing to operate on, what would you suggest? (A) As just indicated, follow those suggestions that have been made. These offer the greater hope in the present - as combined with that which has been indicated.

(Q) Could this condition have been prevented if she had been under hospitalization since flooding started last year? [See 601-19, 601-20, 601-21.] (A) We do not find it so.

R1. 3/21/38 Daughter [480]‘s letter: “They’ve just taken Mother down for her X-Ray treatment, which wears her out terribly. I do not know how she is able to stand them, considering what she has been through. I hardly realized what pain she was in. They give her a half hour of X-Ray about every other day. This is going to continue for two weeks.
“We are so shocked. Daddy is very badly broken. Do you feel that the treatments recommended through the reading were allaying or trying to cure? Was it a sudden turn for the worse? I know you feel about all this like we do. Would you take ck. up to satisfy me as to whether this thing has extended to the bowel and urinary tract? and will the X-Ray be successful? Can she be with us very long? Why doesn’t Dr. McAlpine operate? She is in Room 395 Hudson Bldg., Harper Hospital, Detroit. Pray with us please. Love to you all.”
