This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of February, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [601], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [601]; this we have had before.

  2. While there are periods and times when the general reactions and general conditions cause a great deal of anxiety, and the nervous reaction, and the diffusion of ideas at times, these are natural consequences in the system’s adjusting itself.

  3. There has been and is rather the excess of the flow. This again is a means of the system’s eliminating the poisons that would otherwise prove detrimental. Yet it behooves the body to take the proper precautions as to not allow this to become so profuse as to become a drain upon the body-physical and mental, or upon the system as a whole.

  4. As we would find then, it is well that there be kept the manipulations to keep - in the application of same - a coordinate reaction throughout the body; by - along the cerebrospinal system - making attunement as it were, or that each segment and each vertebrae are in accord as one with another, allowing for the impulses as arise from the ganglia along the system to carry the proper impulse. This is the better manner than stimulating, now, any particular center for excess activity or in according as it were any plexus or ganglia as to prevent normal flow of impulse through those portions of the system.

  5. For, as the body-influences are gained and maintained from impulses along the cerebrospinal system, in conjunction and connection with the vegetative nervous system - or that of the impulse system - these need to be kept then nominal or normal, and let body-functions and body-reactions come about by a normal flow of impulse through the system.

  6. And these we find would gradually then overcome those tendencies for an excess of the flow, as well as an excess of activity in impulses through portions of the body.

  7. Keep well towards an eighty percent alkalinity in the system. Beware of excesses of anything, whether alkalines or acids, but keep a normalcy.

  8. It would be well to use the vaginal applicator of the violet ray but not during periods when there is the extra flow; for this would tend to create a coagulation that would produce irritation in the membranes of the pelvis and through the vagina and through the organs of the pelvis. Only when these have stopped, or once a day for ten to fifteen minutes, but not too high.

  9. The manipulations would be given at least twice a week but more of a general nature now, unless specific conditions arise.

  10. Ready for questions.

  11. (Q) There is profuse flowing before passing of large clots and then no flow for a day or two. Should applicator be used during these short periods of cessation? (A) As has been given.

  12. (Q) During these past several weeks have a peculiar numbness through upper dorsals during the time of osteopathic manipulation. (A) If there is given, in the manipulations and adjustments, the treatment for relaxations for each segment and each vertebrae along the whole of the system as has been indicated, we would find rather a better flow in the present; that is, of impulse, see?

  13. (Q) Twice a week the manipulations? (A) As indicated.

  14. (Q) Should medication with Gin be continued as outlined previously [in 601-13]? (A) These properties are very good, to keep a balance in the activity of the pancreas, the liver and spleen, as coordinating with the eliminations of the system.

  15. (Q) Is a trip to Florida recommended for me, considering [480]‘s condition [See 480-32 Reports] and the service I can give her during the next few months by remaining at home and near her? Frankness is appreciated and will be followed. (A) As we find, there is no reason why that a trip to Florida would not be most beneficial; and why not have the body [480] WITH same during those periods there? The rest there, the recreation, the out of doors, the changes would be well for that body as well as for self; and thus there may be much planning and much of that of the emotional self as well as of the body [480] that would be benefitted by same. We would rather advise the two.

  16. (Q) Any other advice at this time? (A) Do these as we have indicated for the better conditions, as we find.

  17. We are through with this reading.
