-
EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. [See 605-1, Par. B1.] Now, as we find in the general physical organism, conditions are very good, near normal in many ways and manners. There are, from those conditions that have to do with the psychic forces of the body, hindrances that must be met and overcome, both in the mental and the physical self, that there may be the more perfect functioning of the physical body, or the expressions of the physical body.
-
The condition that exists has its inception, then, in the psychic body, but produces a physical obstruction in the functioning of a portion of the expressive or imaginative body - and produces physical obstructions in same.
-
The activities of the functionings of the body through the imaginative function through the sympathetic system, so that in the speech, in the hearing, in the vision, there must be the impulse carried in a straight line to the responsive forces in the physical body for there to be the response in a normal manner.
-
Then, the condition is an abnormalcy in the imaginative or psychic force of the body, as related to the coordinating of the active forces between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal impulses that go to make up those forces in responding to that in the speech.
-
So, in meeting these, there must be made first in the mental body that determination that it will carry on in NORMAL activity. Not that it is to be hindered, but that the hindrances will be removed that exist through the lack of the proper impulse in the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system that exists in the 3rd dorsal center, and in the 4th and 5th cervical center. These should be, then, corrected in a manner that will make perfect alignment, and the impulses in same may be carried in a normal manner; but without the activity of the mental body in seeing those activities carried forward by the impulse that is received through the active forces for the making of expressions of that desired to be expressed, even with the changes, these would only make for partial corrections.
-
These we would have made, and we will find that with the desires, and with the attempts to be careful - painfully careful - in being mindful of the expression, as the changes come about, normalcy in six to ten weeks should be brought for the body. These we would make in a chiropractic manner.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) In what occupation or capacity can I make the greatest success in life for myself and my fellowman, in carrying out the purpose for which I am here? (A) These may be best attained, or the consciousness of same be gained, through that which HAS been builded for the activities of the body. The impulses, as will be seen, will lead in those directions of domestic sciences.
-
(Q) How often should the chiropractic treatments be given? (A) In the first they should be given every third day. Then after four or five, they would be given EVERY day for at least fifteen to twenty-six treatments. Then rest a period of a week to two weeks. Then another series of treatments. The two series should be sufficient.
-
(Q) Is there an particular doctor in that vicinity that would be in sympathy in giving these treatments? (A) There are two; either of these will be well. [Andrew Sargeant or Paul D. Napier?]
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 11/21/33 Aunt [844]‘s letter: “Your reading for [605] did such wonders that we feel that you can do something for our dear [486]. [605] seldom stammers now and I never saw such a change.”
R2. 5/15/34 Young [605] sent EC a picture of herself, saying: “The rdg. surely helped me from the very first. I haven’t stammered for several months, in fact for about two years this fall.”
R3. 5/18/34 Letter from EC to [605]: ”…Yes, I certainly wish I could have seen you. I’ve only met you once, and I know that was long before you can remember. I will tell you about it, how you acted, and possibly you will know whether you would know me now or not if you would see me. You must have been about two years old. You were with your father in Mr. Picken’s barber shop. When I came in your father was in the chair getting a shave. You were playing around the floor. But as I had to wait a few minutes, I spoke to you, not knowing who you were, and you came and climbed up on my lap and talked to me - as you talked when you were two years old. Your father seemed to be very much surprised that you came to me, but said he wondered if you didn’t recognize something about me that you wouldn’t in the ordinary individual - because of the information given through me about you before you were born even. Did you ever know about that? But it made me feel, of course, something of a nearness to you that possibly I haven’t felt for many of the other children. I only saw Lena Stone when she was about two years old, when she had the pink eye badly. Your mother [4925] lived then up on South Virginia and I called in to see her once. I’ve never seen her since…” [See 715-6 on 3/30/37 in re So. Va. St.]
R4. 6/20/34 Letter from [844] to EC: ”…[605] is stammering so much now she can hardly talk and is almost frantic over her condition. Some time ago she had a very hard spell with her tonsils and some of the family think that if they were removed she would be better, but no one in the family has any funds now to have it done. Can you suggest anything?…”
R5. 6/28/34 She, [605], submitted questions, saying: “Please pray that this may be taken away from me forever.”

B2. 8/17/31 Mrs. [1690]‘s ltr.: “[605] was operated on for appendicitis a little over 3 wks. ago, was in a critical condition but is improving rapidly now.”
B3. 8/16/32 Ltr. from [605]: “My main object is to overcome a condition in my speech, commonly known as stammering, or called by some stuttering. As you know, supposed authorities differ as to cause and differentiation between the two words and effects on the system. Uncle [304] said he felt you could give an explanation of the cause and a remedy, and since hearing him talk I feel you can also.”
