1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development of the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions regarding same that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity, and those relations with the Universal Forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present appearance in the earth’s plane.

3. In entering the earth’s plane, while we find the entity under those influences from the astrological standpoint that are at an at variance to many conditions shown in the experience in the present earth’s plane; yet we find from that as manifested, and as MAY be manifested through the experience, some exceptional conditions and proofs of both the astrological viewpoints as have been taken by peoples of many ages and proofs positive of that which may be created by WILL’S force as manifest through earth’s plane and its influence in the experiences of the entity throughout the eons, or throughout the cosmic influence.

4. In entering, then, we find the entity under the influence of Neptune, Uranus, and Venus, with benevolent influences in Jupiter and in Saturn. From these influences we may find there are those exceptional abilities, those mysterious conditions, as surround the elements of the individual appearance, even IN the present earth’s plane. Becoming, then, enigmatical to many, and oftentimes even to self, in the study of those conditions through which the entity would contemplate the building of self towards that of the advancement, or that of the conditions wherein there may be accomplished that which is set forward in the intent and purpose of the entity through its present earth experience; for, as is seen, there is given to all that which is gained or merited in its application of that in hand toward the manifestation of the powers that give life, light, and the experience of same in and through THIS material plane, or throughout those spheres through which an entity may pass to develop to that oneness as necessary to be One with that Creative Energy.

5. In the entering, we find in both Neptune and Uranus coming those particular interests as may be found, not only in mystery and in occult forces, but in that especial application of same. Especially in this individual life there will be found much of those conditions that will be out of the ordinary; for, as is seen under the Uranian forces, there has - and is yet to come - especially in the latter portion of the present year - those conditions that will bring exceptional OPPORTUNITIES for expansion to this entity, especially from across large bodies of water, and of the entity’s VISIT to those old scenes - as would be termed from present experience - of the endeavors as the entity has had in this material plane; for many are the appearances - much has been the development - much has been the retarding - and much has been the advancing of the entity; for, as is given, these are as the application of will, which is the developing factor in and through the material plane.

6. In that of Jupiter and Venus there comes the long life, and the full one - in that between the thirty-third and forty- third (33rd and 43rd) year. Especially in this period comes the greater changes, the greater eccentricity of change - more unusual than would be ordinary in an individual life. [See 778-2, Par. 8-A, 9-A, on 1/5/35.]

7. As to that as manifest as personality in the present experience, we find:

8. One of exceptional abilities; gifted in almost any line in which the entity applies self to use for self or for others.

9. As to that of the weakness of the entity, this is along those lines of the mis-understandings of others as respecting the entity’s intent and purpose, whether as toward friend or foe. [See 778-2, Par. 10-A, 11-A, on 1/5/35.]

10. The entity is one that easily makes friends and forgets friends.

11. One that easily acquires position, or one that may make self amenable to whatever the circumstance or degree of change that may come to the entity.

12. IN THE APPEARANCES:

13. In the one before this we find in that period when there were many changes being made under that known as the rule of the destruction, or bringing about revolution in France. The entity then among those who were in and about the court, and of those who served in that of assistant to the one acting as the queen in that period. Sedate, calm, and ever giving much advice - GAINING through much of the experience in that period; losing in the fear of expressing self. Then in the name Lucia - and in the present we find these inner urges: The desire of the entity to know the inner operations of those conditions that direct the spirit force of each entity in high position. Not as pertains to religious or to political, or to economic or to social, but that inner desire to know what - WHAT - directs the forces of one in power or position (In the thirty-fourth year the entity will learn much of how this is applied in self and in others, for the entity will be among those of royalty). [See 778-2, Par. 5-A, on 1/5/35.]

14. In the one before this we find in that period when there were persecutions in the Roman rule, during the period of Nero’s reign. The entity then again in that position of one near to those in the household of the king, and counselled often with those of wanton heart and mind. Losing through the experience in the aggrandizement of selfish motives, selfish purpose, and gaining plaudits of peoples. In the urge as is seen from this experience in the present life (as was passed then through Saturn’s forces), that of the inner expression of self as pertaining to the fear of what others will say; this being far from that the entity wills to carry; hence we have a combativeness within the entity as respecting these especial conditions.

In the one before this we find among the plains of that known as the Indian country, and the entity then among those that were of the cult of Uhlman (?), and the entity gave much to the peoples in that period, only losing in the selfish aggrandizement of body. In this period we find the entity in the name Iolia. There may much yet be found in this land that is applicable in the periods of the present day. This the land of that of the Himalayas Range. The entity, as the priestess, gave much good to many of the peoples. Only in self did there come the destroying or destructive forces. In the urge from this experience, we find that desire for the mysteries of all religious cults as were studied by the entity in that period, being then one that may - even in the present experience - apply self in that way and manner in which the correlation of those truths as may be gathered together from the many various cults of the Eastern land - combined in such a way and manner through the efforts of the entity - as to bring much good to many peoples in the present earth’s experience. Well that these be applied in the present experience.

16. In the one before this we find in that Egyptian period when there was the division (as would be termed in present day) of church and state. The entity then among those who followed the priest in that departure in exile, and ministering often to those who were with that priest, and coming again into prominence through the service rendered in that period. In the name Asiah, and the entity gained most through this experience in the earth’s plane, and this - combined with that gained in the lessons in the one following - should be applied in the study and in the manifestations of the work that may be attempted, or accomplished by the entity, in the present experience; even as the student, the writer, the teacher, the exponent of those truths as are found in the applying of all religious forces as combined in unison to make known the oneness of the purpose of the Creative Force to bring about the whole Oneness of man’s concept of this Creative Energy.

18. (Q) How long will the entity be in this country? (A) As to those appearances, it would be until October or November, present year.

19. (Q) And then where is the body going? (A) East.

20. (Q) Does that mean Europe or India? (A) Europe and India.

21. (Q) Will the entity stay in India the rest of the life or come back here? (A) Apply that as has been given as respecting how the entity should act as regarding these. The entity is of its own free will, as was given. There are set lessons and truths as the entity may apply to self, and its duty to self, to give knowledge, truth and understanding, to others. Whether it takes far or near, apply self, would the entity build that necessary for the full complete development of the entity in this earth’s experience.

22. (Q) How long will the entity continue in the present work? (A) Until it chooses to change! As given, there are those forces being set about wherein these changes may come - these definite conditions as appear from those of forces from abroad and from near. Application of self as respecting these is of self’s will, and not of that as is read in stars.

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

I was extremely sorry to read in tonight’s paper that the New York police have been so mistaken as to arrest you on a “fortune-telling” charge. It is really lamentable that such a legal state of affairs could exist whereby one with your rare psychic gift could be classed as a law-breaker.

I am sure however, that the New York law is aimed only at charlatans and actual nuisances and pretenders. Your many friends in New York, I am confident, whom you have so uniquely served with your extraordinary gift of interior penetration, will easily convince the New York police of their mistake in classifying you as anything but a proud asset to their city.

If, however, things look serious, I wish you would get in touch with my good friend, Judge John F. Hylan, the distinguished ex-mayor of New York City. I am sure he would be much interested in the unusual and splendid service you are able to offer the public, and he would doubtless be glad to see justice done you in his city.

Please let me hear from you when convenient. Are you still living in Virginia Beach?

My dear Mr. Cayce:

I am in receipt of the very interesting November Bulletin and leaflets. Please send me the Bulletin every month and also other announcements you may publish. In exchange I will continue to send you … regularly. I have been sending it to you for some months, and am mailing you the December issue today under separate cover. I think you will find much of interest and beauty in its pages. I do not know if I ever told you that I used to be, for four years, before my marriage, the editor of … Now, I am still connected with the magazine, in charge of its Astrological Department. I hope you are finding my series on “Astrological World Cycles” of some interest. My astrological findings, based on a very ancient and long-lost or long-hidden Hindu world Cycle computation (see … issue for Diagram), indicate that the world is at present on the ascending arc of a cycle of progress, and for that reason, we have good grounds for believing that people all over the world will come more and more in possession of spiritual knowledge and achievement.

I have, as you perhaps know, a very peculiar (in the sense of deep-rooted) sympathy for and understanding of the work you are doing in the world. This may well be because, as I believe you told me, I was once one of your Egyptian followers who went with you, as priest, into exile and back into power. A few years ago, when my baby was coming, and my mind was in an exalted and clear-seeing state, I had many Egyptians glimpses and impressions, and I believe the tie between my baby and myself is of Egyptian origin. I was strongly inclined to call her “Neith” after the great Egyptian goddess, and may yet do so, when she is old enough to choose for herself. I chose, instead, “[398]”, a Sanskrit word meaning “a sage” (literally, “the silent one”) because my spiritual affiliations in this incarnation so far have all been of Hindu trend, and because I admire Sanskrit as “the language of the gods”.

If you have published any leaflets or reports dealing with Astrological indications, please do send then to me. You were very accurate in naming the most significant planets in my own present-life chart, when you gave me a Life reading some years ago. There were some misstatements in that reading, as when in answer to questions, you said I would go to India that year (which I did not), but that may have been due to some misunderstanding of my question, and on the whole, I feel that the Life Reading was very true and worthwhile.

Please send me the paper mentioned in the November Bulletin, describing the history and explanatory data on Life Readings. I regret not being able to send any contributions to the Association at present, but Mr. [1932] has been unemployed for several months.

My dear Hugh, I was glad to hear from you. Yes, I remember the mad dash to the boat in the old ford. Are you still pals with the red-headed boy? Thomas Sugrue]

You have asked for my “comments” on your presentation of the significance of the Life Readings [See under 2265-1 Reports, 1/33 HLC article] - and have I given them! I do hope you won’t take offense. What are a few commas and pronouns between friends?

Great stuff, my boy! You have got your teeth into the meat of the Life Readings and have extracted a lot of vitamins. You write well; there are strength and onward sweep and solid knowledge in your lines. No doubt about it - you are going to be a fine, illuminating metaphysical writer.

I am enthusiastic about your Presentation. It ought to be printed or mimeographed and sent out with every Life Reading. You know darn well that not one in five has the faintest notion what Mr. Cayce is talking about in the Readings. Aside from the occasional looseness and incoherence of the thought or wording in the readings, the very plan of the Life Readings, with its metaphysical and astrological implications, is unintelligible to many. The terminology also is unusual. You might well devote a paragraph in your Explanation to the meaning of such words as, appearances, urges, entity. I see you have already briefly explained the planetary references, and done it very well.

Believing, then, that the Life Readings require some additional explanatory data in order to be of the most service to those who receive them, and feeling that your Presentation in general is very satisfactory, and not forgetting that you asked for may comments, I have ventured to point out some inaccuracies - not of thought, but merely of grammar or sentence construction. I realize that many of these are only typing errors or the result of haste on your part, and that this typed presentation was not given the same care you would naturally have accorded a formal printed leaflet. However, I think the Explanation SHOULD be printed, multigraphed or mimeographed, and sent out to everyone who has received or will receive a Life Reading. Assuming that you do this, I feel that my minor corrections have some value, inasmuch as clarity of expression, always a cardinal virtue is doubly important in metaphysical writings, where the subject itself presents intrinsic difficulties to the average mind.

Well, have you survived it? I declare I haven’t thought so much about grammar since I left school. I haven’t even a Grammar here, but I consulted the Dictionary occasionally. Words and grammar are the tools of a writer, and he has to master them. The task is not distasteful if you care enough about your own thoughts and interests, and feel they may be of worth to others. In that case, we have to learn to express them clearly.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I enclose a small check [$5] and a list of questions which perhaps you will be kind enough to answer for me, if you are able.

I have at various times consulted different people with the hope that they could tell me some specific things about my future. Practically all such persons, however, have told me that, for some reason, they are not able to tell me anything. There seems to be some strange difficulty in reading my personal life.

My birthday is August 16, 1900 - born at 6:25 a.m. in San Franciso, California.

1. Do I need to be prepared for the death of my mother or father within the next two years or so?

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

Thanks so much for your kind letter of May 28th. It is for you to make the time for your appointment with me and I shall certainly be there on June 11th. I am so sorry to hear that you have had an illness.

I assure you that I feel honored and privileged to be able to avail myself of your wonderful services. I would not think of asking you to put your universal knowledge into operation on my own account if it were not a matter of the highest importance to my life as a whole. I mean I think it is wrong, or at least very selfish, to ask you about silly or minor matters, such as a toothache or a trip, as perhaps some of your questioners do. I want your advice in order to help myself become bigger and better - I do not want to ask you any silly questions about money, marriage or those usual things.

I am not an impressionable or credulous person, but I know sincerity when I see it. I am certainly convinced that, by the purity of your life in this and past incarnations, you have fitted yourself to become a channel thru which universal law may speak. I am grateful for the opportunity that brought you into my life at a time when my inner life is much trouble. I am remembering what you said that night at Mr. Rosenthal’s Blumenthal’s - EC was his guest in N.Y. 3/18-21/27] - that one should pray and approach the power that works thru you in a reverent spirit, in order to get best results. [9/15/27 “I am not acquainted with any of the people who were present at the rdg. which you gave at the home of Mr. Blumenthal (I think that was the name) and I just happened to be present that night by a series of accidental circumstances.”]

Yes, I have cast the horoscope for my nephew [233] and he has, on the whole, a fortunate chart, and better yet, the indications of a fine character.

I plan to take the train from New York on the night of June 10th in order to get into Virginia Beach on the morning of June 11th. If you can see me, before that date, please wire me collect.
