Salesman, Protestant) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [779].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

  1. GC: You will have before you [779], …, Ala., together with his family, his home life, his present associations; also the business readings given for this entity, and you will answer the questions regarding same that I will ask you.

  2. Yes, we have the body, the entity, here, and those associations and relations in family and business, with information as has been given. Ready for questions.

  3. (Q) Regarding a business proposition made to [779], July 27, 1926, about 5:00 P.M. in office of The Georgia Marble Co., …, Ala., by Mr. J. Thorburn, Proprietor, should [779] accept this proposition, and would same be successful and satisfactory to J. Thorburn, [779] and family, all conditions and circumstances of which to be considered? (A) In this proposition, and with the consideration of all things, all conditions, considered, there enters, as is seen, many various conditions to be considered. The ability of each one concerned to carry out their portion of such an agreement first [See 779-17 in re entanglements, lack of receiving balance of profits, etc.]. With this, then we would give, would this prove satisfactory to each, then act in that way and manner as is SEEMING best, see? [GD’s note: Mr. [779] continued on the road with the Georgia firm for a while - See 779-14 Reports, then 779-15 Reports in which he finally decides to go with the Ala. firm.]

  4. (Q) What is meant by “Advancements of a great material nature” as given in previous reading? (A) That the efforts of the entity with those associations as surrounding same in that association as given, in which the entity is already engaged, would bring those high financial returns to the entity, and in the time as given, yet the consideration of family associations, as has been given, must be considered also, see? for, as there has been seen, and has been given in that information as concerning the associations of this entity and the business relations, that first the entity could, in the capacity of salesman, advance self far beyond that under which the entity was laboring at the time. There has also been given that that experience already gained has been worth a great deal to the entity in the direction of eventually bringing higher advances, see?

Now, all of these must be considered, would the entity bring now to self that of the better conditions. Would the entity pay the price, give self in that way and manner as to bring about the advancement, by being away from family, then do that. Would the entity consider the home the higher consideration, and the money the lesser condition and consideration in the end, do THAT. The entity must act from its own will forces. Conditions have been set before the entity. As to HOW they will be acted upon is with the entity. Hence free will in Man - for, as has been said: “Before you this day is set good and evil. Choose THOU.”

  1. (Q) Regarding the same questions just answered, give what station and amount of dollars and cents may be expected. (A) That the entity is capable of earning and more, reaching to 200, 300, $400 per month, see? in two to three years.

  2. (Q) Will the advancements come through his present associations? (A) Would come through present association. Advancement would come through the OTHER association, would the entity find THAT as the better mode of advancing.

  3. (Q) You will give any other information that will help and assist this body regarding these conditions. (A) There may be much said as respecting the conditions in the business affairs of this entity, [779], at the present time.

First and foremost there enters into same the relation of the family, and the duties thereof, and that that the family means to the entity and the entity to the family.

As to those conditions of dollars and cents, this is as necessary for the sustenance of all concerned in the material way and manner.

Now, the conditions have been set before the entity as concerning the two relations with business opportunities, and the one that offers the greater advancement, eventually, is the one that brings the greater hardships in financial and in family relations at the PRESENT time.

Now, the entity is to choose for self, yet, before choosing that as is set before the entity as a better proposition at the present, be sure that each are capable of carrying out, in a financial manner, in a social manner, in a business manner, those obligations that each enter into for such relations.

  1. We are through.
