This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of September, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [779].

Time of Reading 2:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will have before you the life Reading as given on [779] on August 14, 1925, and you will answer the questions regarding same, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the Life Reading [779-7], the information as pertains to the entity’s sojourn in the present earth’s plane, with those influences as have to do with the entity in the present earth plane. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) What are the forces of salesmanship? (A) In the parlance of the day, the personality and the ability to put it over; that is, selling that to the individual who is in the market, or not, for the commodity to be sold.

4. (Q) Please give the information as to how the entity may proceed to apply the correct application to bring the correct mental developments in 26, 27, 28, 29 and throughout life? (A) There is, as we see, the beginning of those conditions that have been set in motion to bring about the opportunities where the development for salesmanship is to be brought about for this body. Apply self through the school of any salesmanship school, particularly Hamilton Institute.

5. (Q) Where is Hamilton Institute? (A) New York - Schenectady - Cleveland. There are many places from which this course may be bought, see?

6. (Q) What would be the correct application of the mental forces as applied in the forces of salesmanship? (A) That as applying self to that portion of the business instead of manual forces in the labors in stones, as has been given and shown, see? We find the greater portion of the time to the present in present labors in that of the applied to the applied arts, rather than salesmanship of same, see?

7. (Q) In what way will the entity have these opportunities for development and manifesting the mental forces? (A) As given, they are being presented at present. Accept same.

8. (Q) Please designate the location, State, City, and so forth, that the entity should live to bring much of the world’s goods to the entity in 1928. (A) The beginning of those conditions are in the present location. As given, East coast, near large bodies of water, see? As we would find, would be either Norfolk, Washington, or in those portions of the country. Washington - District of Columbia, Norfolk, Va., see?

9. (Q) What commodity should the entity have for sale? (A) Stones, either precious stones or oddities, or those pertaining to any of the arts, see? As has been given, and as is supplied, the entity must take into consideration circumstances, conditions, and that judgement necessary to meet the needs of the physical man; yet working ever toward those places, near or the southern most part, ever towards that, for in these we would find the greater success.

10. (Q) When would be the propitious time to start this work? (A) When the time approaches when the entity may make the change. The sooner the better, yet meet, as given, the conditions as arise, see?

11. (Q) You will please give in detail complete information as to the proper procedure that will ripen into sublime fruition in 1928, and what is called much of the world’s goods? (A) The beginning is first as in the present location, extending the salesmanship endeavors in 1926 and 27 to the farther Eastern coast, as given, see? Then the circumstances, the conditions, as should come to the body by the full application, means sufficient of the world’s goods to bring that necessary to the needs of the individual necessary obligations and for the fruition of the desires for self and dependent upon same, see? Two hundred and fifty, - three hundred thousand dollars, see? 12. (Q) With what concern, either in Norfolk, Va., or Washington, D.C., may he be associated with to succeed as salesman? (A) These, as we see, will present themselves. Not look too much in the future, but work to conditions as they come along.

13. (Q) Will the change be a promotion from that of his present line of work? (A) Promotion - for advancement comes with the higher responsibilities.

R2. 10/18/25 “I am glad to hear that Hugh Lynn has taken up his business course and hope he will like it fine and have no trouble in getting a good location. Glad to report, too, that I have enrolled with the Hamilton Institute for study as per rdg.”

R3. 11/8/25 “I am so pleased with my business course from the Hamilton Institute. It covers all parts of business as well as salesmanship. Ten o’clock comes at night before I know it.”

R4. 12/4/25 He wired that his baby son, [318] was born last night and named for Edgar Cayce - [294]!

R6. 2/13/26 Letter from EC to [779]: ”…Well, I’m in hopes that it won’t be long before we’ll have our work arranged some way so we’ll be close together, can reason a lot of things together, watch the development of things. I’ll declare it is sometimes almost overpowering when I realize what’s going on. I’m sure you see, from the Norfolk papers, something of the improvements that are going on at Virginia Beach. To think the readings have told me, YEARS AGO, that this was the place! Now I can realize that, had I been able at the time it told me this was the place, to have invested five hundred dollars in real estate here, from the profits today on that five hundred dollars, I would have been able to have built a two hundred thousand dollar institution! Why, there’s been more than three-quarters of a million dollars worth of real estate exchanged hands in THIS place, since the first day of January, this year! Every phase of it, [779], almost knocks you over…”

R7. 3/26/26 Letter from EC to [779]: ”…Well, I think Hugh Lynn gets through sometime this next week, and I believe he’s going to work with Van Patten Realty. It’s funny to think that when you and he came down last September, and went into the little place on 17th Street, that here in six months that if you would go in now, HE’D be the one you’d see, but my, I’ll tell you, [779], you wouldn’t recognize that as being the same place at the present time. Most of the little frame buildings that were along on 17th have been torn away, or are being torn away, and are being replaced with brick, and it’s putting on the air of a real little city, and the dwellings - goodness! you can’t look any way without seeing new places going up!…”

R9. 8/20/29 EC’s letter: Yes, I am still working on the proposition, [779], of your being here. [See 779-17 Reports]. Sometime, as I say, I’m mighty near able to figure out - and then again I wonder if I have. But to give you a little idea of what our little burg is doing - you know when we came here it was considered a pretty fair season when we had a hundred and fifty or two hundred thousand people here during the season. The actual registrations and fares up to August 12th for the season showed more than three MILLION had been here this year. What do you think of that? Se have something like six or eight at the hospital, all doing nicely. I believe quite a number of the trustees are starting a building program this Fall for their own use and expect to spend the summers here. This, naturally, will bring others in, and among our own group. Quite a bit of interest is being taken in our regular Sunday addresses, and things seem to be progressing very, very nicely. May the Lord bless us in what we are trying to do, and may we do it as He would have us do it, most of all. May we do His will.
