Salesman, Protestant) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of April, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [779].

Time of Reading 11:50 A.M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will have before you the information as given in the Life Readings of August 14, 1925, [779-10] and September 26, 1925, [779-11] concerning [779], and you will answer the questions regarding this body that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the information as given concerning the body, [779], and the conditions as surround same, with the influence as has been made, and the will’s force of the entity applied, and as applied, and as may be applicable, and as WILL come in regard to same.

3. Now, we find the body, physically, mentally, spiritually, is keeping self, and preparing self, and using self, in the way and manner that this may come, in the way and manner as has been given.

4. The body mentally never should allow doubt, in any way, to project itself into the conditions of the advancement that will come to the body.

5. The body should prepare self, in the manner as has been outlined, to assist same in the way of becoming the salesman, as this should be.

6. The body should now make application to those people in Georgia, who prepare such as the entity is engaged in, in the way of being representative at large in the east coast district, and the entity will find that in the coming season there will be the place open for this entity to expand and to gain that position as is necessary for the best development along this line. This will come through these people placing the entity in that position where the entity will eventually represent this organization in some large centers. There will be other fields as an outgrowth from this. Well that the entity see these people personally, see? the executives of this organization, see?

7. Now, as we see, these conditions will cover a great scope of life for this entity, for, as has been given, the entity must prepare self, so that the knowledge of the inside work, the knowledge of salesmanship, the knowledge of the ability to design and to execute same must be made an asset, rather than allowing age to make of same a liability, and with such connections, there will come that the entity will be able to remove to those fields of labors near the east coast and large bodies of water - Washington - Richmond - Norfolk, or any east coast places, see?

R1. 4/12/26 Mr. [779]‘s wire: Reading at once give name of organization in Georgia to make application to as there are several of this kind I am ready to apply as soon as this is given.

R2. 4/16/26 See 900-223 Par. R1. Before the waking suggestion by GC took effect, EC said: “Georgia Marble Company, Tate, Georgia.” We understood this to be the answer to Mr. [779]‘s question, so wired him accordingly.

R3. 4/19/26 Mr. [779]‘s card: “Well, I am now in Atlanta, Ga., on my way back to … Been to Tate, Ga. All looks like information given. Will write you when I get home. Thanks for the wire.”

R4. 4/20/26 “I went over to Ga. and talked to two of the executives… I wrote my application and took it along for them to file. I also told them what I wanted. Just to show you how well this worked, they somehow saw at once I was the man… ‘We are going to make some changes in the fields soon

• we want to know if you will consider any other district now? The districts in which we can use you will be Ala., La., Tex., Ark., and the edge of Okla…’ Now I don’t know if this was the way you saw it or not, but after seeing these people and then reading the reading it looks like this is the way it is to come about, and this will lead me on up to the district I made application for. I told them I would accept the place, with the understanding that my application be put on file and I be considered as the West Coast district man in the next change… When I look at these readings that have been given me for health, life and work readings and see how they come jamb up to the line, I am made to know that they cannot be doubted. And Cayce, you will see how strong I believe in them, by the last one - it calls upon me to make the greatest sacrifice I ever made in my whole life, and that is going away from my dear wife and sweet children, my good friends and the part of the country where I was born and grew up, to be away from my family for four months at each time, and at much less pay to start on than I am now getting when it looks as if I could use much more to meet the already made obligations. We, wife [780] and I, have cried and talked this over together and we agree alike that when we were ill we were made to feel good, when I was blue I was made to feel and see right, and when I could not understand myself I was able to know myself, all through these readings. If they have proven right, this one, too, will likewise prove the best, so on that basis my mind is made up to do and carry out the suggestions to the letter…for the best development to gain those things later.”

R5. 7/6/26 EC’s letter to [779]:

Mr. [779], Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Maine Hotel

Dear [779]:-

I haven’t replied to yours of the 19th [telling about his visit home, lonesomeness while travelling, financial strain etc.] because I didn’t know just where to reach you, so this makes it a long time between letters, but I’m in hopes that I’ll be able to do a little bit better from this on and keep a little closer in touch. I don’t blame you for making the trip home. I’m sure you enjoyed same, as did all the folks.

Now, as to the proposition, I know that you are going through the rubs at this time. I don’t know how to advise you, other than has already been given in the reading, though, as you say, it looks mighty hard to create a hardship in your family, both in your being away from them and in the financial end of it, yet I think that you can already see a vast deal of difference in your own self. Now perhaps that’s taking a selfish viewpoint. You know there is nothing in the world that is going to broaden you out and fit you to make a real salesman like traveling. There’s nothing that’s going to fit you for any position in the world that you might desire as much as your getting out and meeting people, seeing the country, having to write letters, having to talk to people that are under every circumstance and every condition, and while it may be hard from every sense of the word, for the time being, I can’t help but feel like that it is paving the way for the better things for you. If you will make out a list of questions, we’ll set it for some Sunday when you’ll be at your hotel or your room, and we’ll see what we can get, see what the readings have to say. I don’t think there’s anybody in the world knows any better than myself what this hoping for better things means than I, except I didn’t have the real basis for the advancement that you have. Mine were all hopes, that never materialized. I know it makes it hard for your wife. I know that each one of your children needs the father’s care and attention, but I sincerely believe, if they can put up with it for a little while, why things will be different.

Well, Miss Gladys’ folks came down, but they didn’t like it at all! So they have gone back to Selma. Of course, don’t everybody agree with what the readings say - won’t everybody try them all out, and under the circumstances and conditions I wouldn’t blame you one bit, yet I think in after years you are going to see where this move was the right thing. I hope I’m right.”

R6. 7/12/26 Mr. [779] submitted questions for a Ck. Life, saying: “It may be several years yet before I would be put in some large center in the east. If so, I am afraid I won’t be able to stand it… See if you can get the information as to the time, year and month that I can be in a position to make the correct move to have my family with me.”
