This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 22nd day of February, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [779].

Born January 22, 1888, in Wilcox Co., Ala., 4 1/2 miles southwest of Braggs, Ala. Time of Reading 12:00 Noon. …, Alabama. (Suggestion for horoscope reading.)

1. EC: We find this soul, body, spirit or the entity as at present completed upon the earth plane in the evening, and these we find conditions in the astrological forces in reference to inclinations and destiny irrespective of will force. Those influences under which this body come are those of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, with phases of Venus forces giving afflictions. Those of Sagittarius also giving afflictions coming under the zodiacal sign of Aquarius. The influences then as we find come:

2. One well builded in body and mind, yet often under those Sagittarius forces that give the pains in physical to digestive tract and the head, when under the Aries sign with the Moon’s phases. In the forces then we find will entering much in the developing to the present time.

3. One given to the love of the arts.

4. One given to the love of the social life in strange connections.

5. One given to the ennobling forces in the love of arts or of spiritual or soul elements.

6. One given to bring much joy to many peoples, in those especially in the sign of Scorpio and Gemini.

7. One that is above the normal in the forces as are manifest through Jupiter elements.

8. One that is destined to have many inconveniences in life’s pathway by the conditions as presented in Venus under unfavorable conditions.

9. One that, however, in the ennobling influence of Jupiter’s forces, with Mercury, finds much that will be builded upon those influences that have apparently been detrimental.

10. One that should ever keep in the straight and narrow way that leads to the developing of the soul and spirit forces in this present plane.

11. One whose greater force lies in giving the incentive to others to follow in that straight and narrow way that leads to the understanding of the One that gives Peace, Joy and Life to the World.

12. One whose vocation lies in that of the arts, and in the developing of others to understand the beauty of the soul and spirit forces of themselves.

13. As to the will’s influence as has been manifested into the body at the present time, we find much that has been of good, much that has brought the understanding to self of self’s attitude that has its effect in the physical plane.

14. In those of appearances as in this plane, we find before this in that of the time when Nero ruled in that land and brought much destruction to those that cleaved unto the straight and narrow way. In this we find the name of Pontalu [?] [Polito? as given in 779-9.], and was of the guard who saw much destruction to the physical bodies of those who served the Prince of Peace. In the present sphere we find that love for those who give themselves to the study of those elements that were taught as then, with ever the inmost feeling or desire to make self a part of such, yet just keeping away in the outward show of such.

15. In the sphere before this, we find in the plane of the forces when the rule in the land now known as Arabia was under that of Cyrus, and was the soldier in that land, yet the artisan that gave the force, the incentive in building of the wall that turned the tide that allowed the forces to march into the city that the waters passed through, and in the present sphere much of the inclination to be the worker in stone, as is seen, as reached from that condition, and the inward feeling to study the water courses and of the manner that they are controlled.

16. In that before this, we find in the region of Atlantis when the Poseida forces shone in the greater rule, and this entity then was the ruler in that country.

R1. 9/14/24 “Very often I think of those days when we drove over the country [looking after some of [779]‘s marble work] - they were times of great pleasure in being in company with a man when I could put down and forget all my worries. Had it not been for you, goodness knows how things would have turned out. Anyway, day by day I have been studying in every way to understand and know myself better. I am mighty glad to say that I have tried to do as I have heard you say so many times, that certain things seem to have to come in one’s life for it to be as intended, so I still see in your last letter that you say the things you have experienced since leaving Selma were necessary in your life.”

R2. 2/24/25 Letter from [779] from Ala. in reply to form letter to mailing list - see under 4861-2 Reports: “It is with great pleasure and interest that I note an organization has been formed known as an Assoc. of National Investigators which is headed by Mr. Edgar Cayce.

“For a number of years I have known Mr. Cayce. First being closely associated with him in church work until we came to be very close friends.

“I know Mr. Cayce to be a man of sterling character, and I feel a very deep interest in the work that he is trying to do. As the writer, with four in family, has been greatly benefitted by Mr. Cayce’s psychic power. I am sure others can likewise receive aid, spiritually, mentally and psychically.

“I am herewith enclosing card signed for my membership in your wonderful organization. Kindly send to me from time to time booklets and data of the work of the Association.

“Trusting that I may be of some service to this noble work, I beg to remain…”

R3. 6/28/25 “Yes, I will be glad to send Evangeline Adams’ horo- scope reading of me for you to look over, also to have you to give me what you can get from it. It may be right and it may not, but I sure have felt some influence for some reason or cause since 1924 as per her reading. Give me the best you have on this - I will appreciate it.”

R4. 7/14/25 EC’s letter, returning Evangeline Adams’ horoscope:

“I have yours of the 28th, also the horoscope as given by Miss Adams. This is certainly very interesting and I have delayed writing you, because I have been trying to make a digest of the information as is given. I must say, however, that I haven’t been able to get very far. I might, were I able to take the matter up with you personally, paragraph by paragraph, give you an outline of what I gather from same. However, apparently to me, just what is said here is almost positive proof of what was gotten in a reading that we got sometime ago, when the question was asked as regarding the worth of horoscope readings [See 254-21 on 2/21/25], when it gave this: Horoscopes give the inclination by the relative position of planetary effects upon the earth and human beings; however, the WILL being the greater factor in the human being, and MIND THE BUILDER, all such influence may be made null and void; consequently a reading that will give the inclinations, the urges, with HOW the will is being applied to same is of a great deal more worth to individuals than plain horoscope readings, other than to warn them of impending conditions that may be avoided at specific times, though this would necessitate having horoscope readings given quite often.

“So, as you see from this, while astrology may be called an exact science in a manner, still the human mind and the human will overrides same, just as the human will may cause man to deliberately break a law of the Creator’s, for man, as we know, is a free-will being. While subject to all of the laws, he may, by the breaking of same bring condemnation upon himself. This, I am sure, has been of a great deal of help to you in understanding readings that we have gotten, even though they were physical. Just as the physical readings have assisted you in understanding the information given by Miss Adams. This, as we see, is a great big subject, and a very interesting one, but one that certainly cannot be covered in one letter, one day or one week; in fact, it is very much like religion, a thing to be lived and can scarcely be explained by theory or theorem.”

“I don’t believe there are words to express my appreciation in getting to read it. I want to say that it is the most wonderful and beautiful thing I ever read in all my life, even the Book of Books. I guess the reason is because it is expressed in words and ways of our present day terms. After a man reads this book, if it doesn’t make or cause him to throw aside many or all material things of life and go to thinking MUCH or LITTLE, if you please, then I would diagnose his case as hopeless and that something is lacking in his CEREBRUM; he has locked himself away from God and Christ. There is much light in this work; it helps one to understand self and the physical, mental and material things as well as the spiritual side of life. It so well teaches ‘First seek the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added unto you.’ Easily it better enables a man to see and understand the noble handiworks of the Maker. You can never know the inspiration and sweet lessons I have received in this study. Yes, there is much that I cannot begin to get, but I do believe it all is possible, and as I said to Mr. L. B. [EC’s father], I wish I could get and understand this just as you did while you were giving it. Such as Law and Laws, Force and Forces - that’s very deep.

“Cayce, I am very glad that you offered to give me a reading of another character [called Horoscope Reading] - I always wanted this kind of reading, but did not want to trouble you. I trust it will give me some data that will be of much help to me and others. I feel that such a reading will put me in better touch with what I am best fitted to do.

“I was born in Wilcox County, Alabama, in the very north-eastern part of the county, four and one-half miles southwest of Braggs, Ala. I do not know the latitude and longitude, hour, minute and second - will be glad for you to tell me all of this, and how the planets have to do with myself. You know I am a great believer in this. Shall do my best to carry out instructions as far as I can, that will be of good to others and self.

“Let me hear from you any time - glad to hear from you always. Thanking you for past favors - believe me to be a friend to you and yours, [779].”
