This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 11th day of January, 1924, in accordance with request made by husband. Mr. [779].

Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. …, Alabama.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see.

2. Now, in the physical, we find conditions are changed from that as we had them here before. In many respects, the body physically and mentally has been upon the improve. The mental has to do with the physical, the soul being a portion of the entity or that companion of the spirit which is the ever guiding force in the developing of an entity. The mental and the will being those elements of the entity upon which the soul and spirit force of an entity feeds, or is developed thereby.

3. In the physical, at the present time, we find there are physical conditions that need some correction, while those conditions in the antrum and in the digestive forces are improved. With the present conditions with the entity as a whole there are physical conditions that must be changed for the best development of this entity from the physical standpoint, and has to do with the will of the force as must be exercised by the mental force of this body, [780], we are speaking of.

4. Now, these are conditions as we find them in the physical at the present time.

5. While the physical is very good, but we will see how conditions are exercised within the physical that the whole of the entity may be developed toward that mark of the higher calling, as is set in Him, the Giver of all good and perfect gifts, and Him who may destroy the physical and cast that of the entity into outer darkness, where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, for with the will of the entity brings that into the soul forces that through self brings the greater condemnation, or those of the joy and life everlasting, as is set in Him.

6. In the physical these are the conditions: There is in the antrum (right one) as yet that which exhumes in the circulation those of the poisons that bring to the whole system that brings the destructive forces in the blood supply, for with this poison being carried in the system the organs of the nerve system give into the tissue that which gives irritation to the over action of the organs that affect the body in the giving of the equalized forces that act direct with the perineurial and the hypogastric centers, for the action in the physical comes in contact with these in the fourth cervical and in the eleventh dorsal. In the action then as this gives or manifests in the physical at the present, we find this gives the dull-leadened headaches, the over activity of the glands and organs in the excretory system, especially in that of the kidneys, and also that that produces the action in lymphatics to extremities.

7. In the action of the mental forces, and its relation to this body in manifestations of the physical, we find the body well balanced, though with the will turned into those channels that lead to the self-satisfying of those incentives that are exercised through the physical conditions in the system. In the action of this upon the soul and spirit forces the inclinations of the entity are towards those of the spiritual nature, yet comes in that rather of the spasmodic inclination or turn upon account of the conditions in the mental with physical forces, which must be exercised upon by the will force of the entity.

8. The body physically good in many, many ways, yet needs those vibrations in the physical and the correction in the local condition in antrum that affects the nasal and the nerves and ligaments of throat, given that the circulation may carry those poisons through their correct channels for elimination, and the assimilation will balance the forces in the entity with the assistance of the will of the body.

9. In the developing of the mental, soul and spirit forces, set the mind, or fill the mind, fill the heart, fill the life with that of service to others in the manner that self will be crucified in the flesh, and present the body wholly and acceptable unto Him, which is the reasonable self.

R1. 2/12/24 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…Your nice letter of Jan. 21 [No copy of this letter on file.] was read with great pleasure. Would have answered sooner, but been waiting to see how wife [780] got along with her treatment from Calloway [Eugene Calloway, M.D., eye, ear, nose & throat specialist].

“Well, the first thing he said was to have an operation, but we said no, give treatment, so he did. From the very first the Dr. said that it looked better and so on until after days she took cold which caused the bones to enlarge, had to postpone till cold better.

“Kindly accept our many thanks for the explanation to the reading. It gave us much light on same.

“You know that I looked high and low for the reading [780-1] given wife, but could not locate it anywhere, so I happen today to look again where I had looked many times, and behold there it were in front of me. I was glad to get it, too, the date given being Aug. 8, 1922. I think it was taken by Miss Ethel McKee, now Mrs. Peters. Will have a copy made and send to you soon…

“I fully believe of my case last summer that I was on the wrong road, and I had to be corrected some way, even at the expense of trouble and worry my dear, sweet wife had to go through with. Thank the Lord I now see it all my fault. Don’t know what I would have done without you and her, the dearest woman in all this world to me.”

R2. 6/12/24 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…I am glad to say we like here just fine. I have made it my duty to see that the lady of the house [780] did not over do her part of the work. I went out and got her help enough to do the thing up right, then put a woman at the job to keep it so…” [GD’s note: Mrs. [780] had a lot to do, having three children and running a rooming house, while Mr. [779] was away on his job all day.]

R3. 9/1/24 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…Wife [780] has been well as can be - began to gain weight again. She had a soft corn between her toes and she picked at it and must have gotten same infected as it has caused her foot to swell and gotten red with much pain today, but I think it will be OK in a day or so…”

R4. 4/16/25 Mrs. [780]‘s wire: “Give me reading soon as possible. You set date I will be at home.”
