This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of July, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [979], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

At home of her Time of Reading daughter, 5:05 to 5:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Miss. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: (Dr. [[654]‘s husband]*) Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

  2. Weakness as we find and the general strains upon the physical forces of the body, as well as the mental conditions and strains under which the body has passed makes for rather that of a listlessness, general rundown feeling, and aching and a general tendency for a little temperature of evenings; at times a little tendency for overperspiration even under the existent circumstances in the evening.

  3. As we would find in the present, we would begin with that compound called Grove’s Tasteless Chill Tonic. We would take this for two, three, four days, see? Not too large a quantity. About three times a day, before the meals take a teaspoonful, see?

  4. Then on the END of the period take the Bromo-Quinine made by the same concern. Take two tablets after the noon meal (this is on the 5th or 6th day, you see) and two tablets upon retiring.

  5. Then we would begin, after this has acted upon the system, with a stimulant and a tonic and a help for the cough - which may act as a builder-up for an appetite and be a general help for the body throughout. Prepare same in this manner:

  6. To 2 ounces of Strained Honey add 2 ounces of Distilled Water. Let this come to a boil. Skim that which arises. Set aside to cool, and as soon as cool add - in the order named:

  • [Mrs. [979]‘s son-in-law, husband of Mrs. [654], on faculty of a military school in …, Miss.]

Wild Cherry Bark - as an elixir or pectoral, you see; as an elixir, not as a syrup but as an elixir or as a fusion…1 ounce, Syrup of Horehound…1 ounce, Syrup of Rhubarb…1/2 ounce, Elixir of Calisaya…1/2 ounce. Sufficient Apple Brandy to make the whole quantity come to 8 ounces.

Shake this together and take about every three hours; of course except at night - teaspoonful every three hours, but do not take it through the evening.

  1. Beware of too much of starches in the diet. Not too great quantity of exercise. Keep in the open as much as possible. Keep the body mentally and physically active but not a strain.

  2. We are through with this reading.
