R1. 5/19/28 EC’s letter:

Mr. A. H. Thomas, P.O. Box 1693, Miami, Florida

My dear Mr. Thomas:-

It has been illness on my part that has prevented me from getting the information on the treasure as soon as I would have liked to, but I am today mailing the reading as was gotten to Mr. [943], who I’m sure will give you the contents of that gotten. If you think this is sufficient to work out the proposition, why alright. If not, possibly we may be able to take the question up from your own dream. I’m sure, as Mr. [943] has told you - or as you have possibly seen from the data that is published by the Association - you are aware of the fact that we give dream readings. Many of us who have been studying the work are inclined to believe that information obtained through these sources (that is, the interpretation of dream) is most authentic and possibly more thoroughly understandable to the individual.

I’m certainly sorry to know you all have not been successful so far in locating this treasure. I could go into details respecting such undertakings as have been attempted through many years. Very few have been as successful as we would like for them to be. I think I am honest when I say, I believe it rather the misunderstanding of the information than a fault of the information itself - though I realize I may be fooling myself.

I appreciate your letter and would like to hear from you again. I assure you it’s my desire to be of help whenever possible. I believe you have the right idea and the right purpose. I don’t want you to send good money after bad, but I would certainly like for a thorough search to be made of these grounds, and I assure you I’ll be glad to try to help if possible.

R2. 6/7/28 Mr. [943]‘s letter:

Miami, Florida

Dear Mr. Cayce:

We made another search for the treasure with the usual success - I cannot figure the proposition out now as we have carried out all the instructions. A Cofferdam was built on location made and excavation was made down to the hard rock and water removed as much as it was possible to do and there is nothing there except a deep crevice or two which are not large enough for box or trunk. I don’t know, Mr. Cayce, why we are unable to get just the right interpretation on the information given. I have sincerely tried and devoted a lot of time in trying to follow out the instructions given, but it seem an impossibility to do. I wonder if the forces would give a reading on the treasure in locating it from the cofferdam as now located, giving depth, distance and size of container. I am still willing to try again as my faith and belief are still good and I know that conditions will work out in due time. So if you will give another reading I will brave the sand fleas and mosquitos again and they are awful at this time of year.

6/12/28 Referring to letter which you received from A. H. Thomas sometime ago with reference to the treasure at broad creek channel - I did not know that he had written you until I received your letter and I was much surprised that he would write you without saying something to me about it. It is extremely hard to find men that you can have absolute confidence in this day and age and I have arrived at the conclusion that we will work it out someway without taking anymore people in on the information that we have obtained. Have given Thomas security in excess of all the money that he put out while we were searching for treasure and I feel that the right thing has been done.

R3. 6/20/28 Mr. [943] wired for Ck. Rdg. 5741-13 and also said: “Would like to have reading Broad Creek Channel as per last letter when you have chance. Regards.”
