1. EC: (In going back over the years - ” - ‘78 - yes, when the change came.”)

2. Yes, we have the entity, now known as and called [358], and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and manifested in the personalities of the present entity.

3. In entering, astrologically we find the entity coming or entering under changed, or changing, or altering, conditions. Hence from the astrological viewpoint many sudden and definite changes would be, will be, the experience of the entity in this present sojourn. Coming under the influences as in a change, bringing that in the MENTAL vision of growth - yet many clinging to those visions of the entity in the environs of its youth. In the astrological aspect of planetary influence, by sojourn rather than of positions at birth, we find:

Mercury gives rather the analytical turn of mind, and that of Arcturus WITH Uranus a delving into those of the scientific or semi-scientific nature - the EXPLAINING of cause and effect being ever one of those influences that will be with the entity until there is the rising of Jupiter’s, with Uranus’, influence in the latter portion of present experience, when the entity will be under those of the spiritual influences and opportunities, when broadness of vision in the mental and spiritual WORLDS bring this change again in the experience of the entity. In Jupiter also will make for, has made, those associations with men, people, things, of affluence, and of LARGER associations with moneys, positions, places. These kept as they have been, in their RESPECTIVE places IN the developing of the entity’s soul or spiritual forces, make for a broader experience and a meeting of those sources of developing necessary for the greater work OF the entity in the present experience.

5. In that as is builded through the astrological, as well as environmental and hereditary - hereditary AND environmental being rather from SOJOURNS than from those of a materialistic, or of the nature of ONE experience:

6. As seen, one whose abilities lie in the fields of doing for others in a manner that is acceptable through the normal channels of material developments. Even in scientific studies, and lessening of physical labors, or a lightening of material and physical burdens of peoples, these are the fields of endeavor. In that builded by the proper association and correlation of such endeavors, reaching the fully scientific field, in the spiritual development must bring the same characterizations in the labors, endeavors and attempts of the entity, but on rather that of a correlative, cooperative, background, than of the materialistic or the sensual background.

7. One given to easily becoming adaptable to the surroundings of self, meeting the emergencies of the moment in both a scientific and an amicable manner, able TO cooperate WITH others in the various activities as necessary for the developments of the good that may come to the whole. Hence one that may be said to have in the greater portion of present experience developed, or BUILDED self, to a position where the greater, or more far-REACHING work OF the entity for present experience is yet to be accomplished; for this must necessarily turn into more direct fields, reaching not only the MENTAL mind but the soul or SPIRITUAL mind OF entities, or individuals, in their application of both oriental and occidental environ, that may be correlated by the entity in a practical, applicable, experience for those who seek through those channels, that HAVE set an ideal in Him that makes for the accomplishing of such IN a material world.

8. In the appearances, that have their direct influence upon the present development or experience of the entity:

9. In the one then before this we find in that period when there were being those settlements, developments, in the present land of the entity’s sojourn, with that one known as Penn. The entity then, one named Schunscheimer [?], was among those that made developments among those native peoples, partaking their manners, their ways, yet using same in a manner that saved many an individual and group; SEALING, compacting, as it were, more of those treaties or agreements as made between those new settlers and the natives. The entity gained and lost through the experience. GAINED the greater, in the service rendered to so many - saving self by same service; LOSING self in aggrandizing of interests that made for physical hardships for self, and contentions and divisions arising later as to settlements as were to be materially made. In the present this influences the entity as to the necessities of the love of this land, yet the entity as an entity (Let’s get the difference, for perfect understanding! The entity AS an entity) sought for the entrance in material plane UNDER those environs that would gain more concept of the SPIRITUAL truths as taught BY that leader in his OPEN way of meeting the various conditions; FOR THE ENTITY, as an entity, held to its FORMER activity in such relations as made for more of the I AM in no UNCERTAIN terms, leaving rather the individual to become that of the follower WITHOUT question - see? In the present experience this also brings that desire to meet the needs of a justification of self in this surrounding, this environ, this changed condition, that must needs be met; one that stood for the freedom OF speech, OF activity, OF individual worship of that it called ITS Maker, in an EXPANDING, developing, environ.

10. In the one then before this we find in that period when there were the expanding of, or extending of, the developments from the Indian land to those of the Persian or Arabian, when there were the establishings of those teachings under Uhjltd in the plain, through many peoples from many lands, for the counsel that good might come to many. The entity was then among those who came from what would now be called the Chaldean country, yet of those peoples who later were among those that were of the tribes left in the land FROM the promised or Judean land. Then in the name Buzzhanahai, in this experience we find the entity developing and losing. Gaining through the desire for, seeking to know that as might give aid to others, the better concepts of life’s experience AS a development of the entity or soul life. Losing in the thoughts that such accounts might be turned to the satisfying, gratifying, of EARTHLY or MATERIAL desires, and in attempts to do same brought for self the condemnation of many. Later in the entity’s own land DEVELOPING again, in the manner of giving to others those lessons gained while in this Persian or Arabian land, from those tenets of the peoples gathered there. In this present experience much of the same experience must come to the entity for its greater or WHOLE development; for its numbers becomes nine in this experience.

11. In the one then before this we find in that land now known as the Egyptian, and during those experiences when there was the establishing of those teachings of those peoples who attempted to build a relationship between Creative forces and the creatures, that attempted to give understandings and disseminations of the truths as had come from cosmic influence from those peoples then entering into the material world from sojourns from the mental world, in the same sphere of environ. The entity was then among those who, under the teachings of him that was banished in the Nubian land, Ra-Ta] came again with those from the banishment, to the temples about that place now where the various forms of the figures present, or represent, the attempts of the peoples in the day, and about those yet to be uncovered, in the city THEN called Aicerao. In this place the entity developed much, for the entity became one of the RULERS in the temple upon the departure of him that gave the first divisions of the laws to the peoples in that period; yet some deviations by the entity brought in the latter portion of the entity’s experience, as Haijhi, much disturbing in the material ways. This must be met in the present. From this experience in the present comes much of those contending forces in many various lands, much of the contending forces as have to do with the various differentiations between mysticism, occult influence, and those of the SPIRITUAL awakenings in individuals. The spirit makes alive. The MYSTIC may be a way, but may lead to contortion of the very ideal itself. Occult may lead to an awakening, but may be driven by other forces than spiritual. The SPIRIT gives life!

12. In the one then before this we find during those periods when there were the gatherings of the many peoples of many lands, in that now known as the Indian land, those peoples that came as councillors from the foreign or visiting lands. The entity was then among those from what is NOW known as American, and came as one to counsel with those peoples that determined the manner of dealing with many of the beasts, or those things that made men afraid in the earth. The entity then in the name Uowi. In this experience the entity gained and lost; for gaining much in the sense of the application of MECHANICAL appliances for the use of man in that material land, the entity used same to self’s own destruction to its peoples, in that PORTION of the land NOW known as Utah and New Mexico. Would the entity vision much of that portion of those lands lying in the southern portions of that land, and those of the Arizona and New Mexico lands, MUCH as a dream would come to the entity.

13. In the ABILITIES of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:

14. As has been seen, much has been the entity’s possibilities AND abilities in the sojourns, that are to reflect in the entity’s PRESENT experience. OPPORTUNITIES are still in the entity’s wake, are these inclined to the SPIRITUAL side of man’s development, rather than the material or the earthly side of same. Then, through those experiences as have been had in the present, through those through the sojourns in the earth and its environs, build in self that which makes for a surety in Him that gave the light to the world, that all might be one under that banner of His. While teachers may come, teachers may go, His self, His DEVELOPMENTS WERE such, ARE such, that all may come under HIS banner and ENTER in at the straight gate. Keep thine self cleansed, through the abilities of self to know the cleansing forces as may be taken from the elements that become creative in their nature THROUGH even a MATERIAL body. So rejuvenate that material body, in such a manner as to GIVE the BEST of self in ESTABLISHING that relationship that brings HEALING to those MENTALLY disturbed, ease of body to those PHYSICALLY disabled, and that brings those understandings in one to that spiritual force as found in Him, He that gave, “My peace I give unto thee. The WAY ye know, and I go that ye may have an advocate WITH the Father. I in him, ye in me, may do - as I have GIVEN you power, THROUGH me, TO be in me, I in thee.” Keep this, then, as that measuring standard for thine efforts, that these days in the earth may bring that to self, as to that teacher of old, “I have fought the good fight, I have henceforth laid up a crown of righteousness.” KEEP the body, the mind, the soul, in accord with the Creative Forces that make for UNISON of purpose in all.

16. (Q) My first wife died in India in 1893. In 1897 her spirit informed me that she was going to re-incarnate again in this world to help me. In a dream vision, I was told she was born in America. If that is so, and if I am likely to meet her again, then where and when? (A) When self has been dedicated, set aside, for the developing the SPIRITUAL forces in this MATERIAL world, will these be brought to bear TO aid in that ONCE begun - in the awakening.

17. (Q) My present wife who is in America with me, is she expected to pass away before me or after me and when? (A) This, in the separations that must be necessary for those developments in the occidental forces, for the occidental and oriental cleansing, will make for those separations as will bring the greater understanding to ALL concerned. As to time, place OR period, these in their own day. This may be SHOWN thee, even as the vision thou gatherest at the period of the meeting WITH those under the tree, where the three in their native costumes are NOW communing WITH thee.

18. (Q) How far would I succeed in my spiritual mission (see chapter in my book page 425). [Manuscript] (A) This, as has been given, IS the mission, and the entity may set in motion that which may bring about the greater understanding between those of the VARIOUS forces, AS teachers as have been in this material world, but keep rather to the SPIRITUAL side OF development, than would it bring crowds, would it bring force. The POWERS that be must be THROUGH Him, IN thee!

19. (Q) What course should I follow? (A) As has been outlined, the separation of self in the various ways as will be shown thee, as the meditation, the contemplation (Do not confuse - those are entered in, IN their various spheres). In the next two years there should be sufficient of those of the material plane, that the entity may then inject into self’s activities that separation, segregation, of self from the WORLD, to become a teacher, a leader. 5. My daughter had a vision in her dream (see pages 431 of my book) indicating that I would be inspired by the spirit of Jesus to interpret his true teachings to the world. Is there any truth in the message?

7. In a dream vision, I was told that a divine message comprised in the letters L E M D A will be delivered to me by an outsider. When would it come and what does it mean? (See particulars in my book page 435.)

Dear Dr. Cayce,

I have already acknowledged the receipt of your letter of the 8th instant enclosing life’s reading and have informed you about my interview with Mr. Sugrue.

I had the following peculiar vision on the day of the reading and an incident which being interesting I feel sure you would like to know:- On Monday the 7th inst., the day appointed the reading, I arrived at the Fraternity Club building exactly at 3 P.M. as arranged. At 3:05 P.M. while I was ascending the stairs to go to the club room of that building, I severely bumped my head against an iron girder which was placed there temporarily to carry out some alteration work. My mind being full of thoughts I overlooked it and as the result after bumping my head against it, I fell backward and came tumbling down five or six steps face downwards but luckily I avoided a very serious accident to my face or spine and escaped with only a slight scratch on my forehead - which is now completely healed. Was it that your thought waves rushed in my sympathetic mind or body too suddenly? Anyway, soon after recovery from the shock I entered the quiet club room at 3:15 P.M. and reposed myself in a comfortable easy chair and went on meditating with a receptive mind. I felt very strong vibrating force approximately between 3:50 and 4:05 P.M.

That night or rather the early morning of Tuesday, the 8th inst., between the hours of 5 and 6 A.M. I had the following dream vision: I was sitting at a desk and a globe of the world was standing before me on the desk. I wanted to find out some place where I had lost something very dear to me. So I went on passing my finger on the surface of the globe map to locate the place. I started somewhere on the east coast of this country - somewhere near Philadelphia, then passed my finger on the province named Tuscony? in France, thence to Alexandria, then thru Egypt, Arabia and then to the west coast of India somewhere towards the south. Though realization then come to me that I could not go further, so I passed the finger on the finger on the west coast of India from that southern point and went towards the north of India

• beyond Karachi. While my finger passed over Bombay, it seemed I momentarily forgot that Bombay was the place where I was born in my present existence. At the last halting point - Karachi - I felt greatly disappointed in failing to meet my objective and for a moment puzzled to know what to do next. At that moment, I heard a distinct voice as if commanding me to go back. I then past my finger from Karachi to westward - over Persia, Palestine, Germany and arrived back at the same province “Tuscany” in France. Thence my finger passed on to the south western states of America, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and upper California. From there the finger all of a sudden travelled back eastward and stopped at some place north of Boston and then I suddenly woke up.

It should be noted that I saw the above vision on the morning following your sitting on the previous afternoon and as I purposely projected my ego before falling asleep to travel in the etheric world to gain some information, I desired to locate the various places of my former births, I was shown in the vision the various parts of the world thru forcing my finger to travel - without pointing out any definite spots or personality. It was seemingly for the purpose of preparing my mind to receive your report of the sitting without getting disappointed for not getting from your sitting definite information on some of the important points I submitted to you, for enlightenment.

I read and re-read over and over again with great deal of pleasure and interest the information contained in your report bearing on various points and meditated over those for the last three days to arrive at an intelligent conclusion.

Let me frankly say that should any one else not acquainted with the nature of such psychic work had read such information he would have considered it as rather vague and not definite enough to suit his purpose and therefore would have felt disappointed. But being familiar with such work and in view of my vision referred to above, I took it in a different light and understood the reason why the information was not definite enough on several points. It is the Divine law that any desired definite information is given out thru spiritual forces - only at the proper time. Judging from your information and that of my dream vision it is evident that the time is not arrived yet for me to be blessed with such desired information but might be given to me at the proper time - later on.

You will no doubt see that information given by you and what I saw in my vision tally on most points - particularly regarding my previous existence. On the second page on your report in paragraph three, a reference is made to America and “one known as Penn”. Is it a typographical error for Paine - I mean Thomas Paine? If so, it is interesting as I am an admirer of his views regarding “Age of Reason”. It is beyond me to verify the accuracy about the various places and personalities mentioned with reference to my previous existence, but one thing forcibly appeals that most of my former existence took place in European and American countries. I have a strong feeling strengthened by a later vision which I had some years ago, that in my existence prior to the present one, I was born somewhere around Boston (Mass). In my last vision referred to above, my finger stopped at Boston before I woke up - probably indicating the truth about it. It seems to me that my ego developed in these western lands was incarnated in an eastern body - perhaps to help my spiritual mission of uniting the eastern and western thoughts.

In the last line of the top paragraph on page three it is stated that “for its numbers becomes NINE in this experience (existence)”. It is also very interesting. In my last vision referred to above, I have explained how my finger travelled over various parts of the globe. If a line is drawn marking the travel of the finger it makes the figure eight - indicating that your ego was able or allowed to investigate up to my eight existences preceding my present existence, which now makes the total NINE, and probably my last incarnation on earth planet.

On page four of your report the information and advise given about my spiritual work is very encouraging and enlightening and I assure you I would always bear it in my mind.

Referring to the answer given to my second question (page 4) it is stated “meeting WITH those under the TREE, where the three in their native costume are NOW COMMUNING with thee.”

The information is not quite clear to me. Does it refer to the dream vision which my daughter had two years ago in which my daughter had two years ago in which she was told that Jesus Christ had then come to the world and she saw his picture printed in the American magazine which resembled my picture in Hindu Costume and then she saw three wise men from the East wearing oriental costume and kneeling down before an invisible figure? The full account of my daughter’s dream was given in my book which you were good enough to read here. If so, it is very encouraging and illuminating. The above information given by you probably referred to my question number five on my list regarding my daughter’s dream.

Questions 7 and 8 were not answered as probably the trance came to an end. I am enclosing the question sheet for ready reference.

Referring to the commencement of the report on page one - it is given that “78 when the change came”. If that means my psychic experience then it is quite correct as in that year when I was eleven years of age, I was controlled by some invisible power establishing my first encounter with the “spiritland”.

I have stated my views rather fully as you expected me to do and as I have given those in the interest of Science you are at perfect liberty to make any use of it to help your noble work in which I feel greatly interested.

Thanking you again for enlightening me on various important points and hoping to have the pleasure of meeting you before long to discuss such matters of mutual interest, I remain, with kindest regards and all best wishes

R4. 12/30/31 EC’s letter:

Yes, I have had several visions where you and I were engaged in some definite work. Just as to the time, I cannot at present say whether they coincide with the one you had or not. However, we are making it one of our rules now to write off the visions or dreams of all of those closely associated with the work, each day, keeping them for reference, with no particular interest at the present time of attempting to make interpretations - unless there is some particular interest shown in the vision seen of the NECESSITY of doing so at once. So, hereafter we hope to be able to give the reference in any vision anyone may have concerning the information, or visions.

R5. 1/5/32 Dr. [358]‘s letter in re EC’s health [see 294-128 Reports] also stated:

I am glad to note you have several times seen me in your vision as co-operating with you in some work. It is due to my forming during meditation a mental picture of our working together in the psychic hospital as we discussed here before. Scores of my personal friends with well tuned minds have reported to me of their having seen my body as floating in the air in their visions. It is due to the fact that I project the ego with the psychic force according to the Yoga practice, and not merely as a thought form.

Did you ever have a similar vision? Some fate has brought us together for some definite work - what it is only time can tell.

It is indeed very kind of you to offer to give another reading to get more definite information on some point but I hesitate to impose upon your kindness. However, as there is no particular hurry or urgency for such information I would rather wait until we meet again, I hope before long.

R6. 1/12/32 EC’s letter:

Very glad to have yours of the 5th. I appreciate your giving me those impressions you receive in your meditation. I feel very sure that you can be, and are, of a great deal of help and assistance to me in gaining my normal balance here physically. I have felt, ever since our first meeting in New York, before you ever came to Virginia Beach, that there was a great deal in common between us, and that it would be possible - with the proper approach and understanding - for us to be of mutual benefit to one another. Our meetings and conversations thus far have, to my own waking consciousness, seemed to bear out this thought and idea. As to just what the future will be, I do not know. I have not been feeling so well the last few days. I know the greater portion of it is worry, but worry never built anything - worry is destructive, I realize, rather than constructive.

I’ve never had any particular vision of our combined efforts, except in symbols. They have seemed more inclined in the direction of combined efforts with others in much the same manner as you once suggested, as you being the interpreter of many of the visions that might come or be given to individuals who sought information of whatever character or nature through these channels.

From time to time I will be very glad to hear about how you and Mr. Sugrue are progressing with your contemplated collaboration. In fact, I feel very sure you will be able to work out many things that will be advantageous to a waiting world. Our study group in Norfolk seems to be getting along very nicely. We have weekly, and often bi-weekly, meetings - with at least two readings each month. This gives us data for study for the rest of the period, and oftentimes we feel we are not digesting it as fast as we should. Had a very lovely meeting last evening.
