This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Lillian Edgerton, Inc., 267 Fifth Ave., New York City, this 6th day of November, 1933, in accordance with request made by self - Dr. [358], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Dr. [358], Mr. [257] and Mr. [333].]
Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Body & enquiring mind, regarding Atomidine and Beslin.)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Dr. [358], present in this room; those products that are controlled by the body, also the enquiring mind of [257] in relation to same. Some of these we have had before.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Why did [1734] give up Beslin? [See 1734-1.] (A) This should best be reached through the channel itself, yet - as we find - to prevent the paying of the amount as a retainer in the activity, when the product as produced is considered to be for the purposes to which it is put of equal value. Yet these should be approached rather from their sources than from this.
-
(Q) How can Dr. [358] continue the sale of Beslin? Should it be continued with Atomidine Co.? (A) Should be under the same control, but with the wide distribution that has already been given and the increasing through these same channels, if they may be kept open and retained. Even in these they should be kept separate, though the heads may be the same.
-
(Q) Could [257] carry out the sale of Beslin through Woolworth stores, and would it be ethical under the circumstances? (A) Would be ethical, and should be carried out; but these would require a great many changes in the whole activity. There must of necessity be allowed the time to elapse for the completing of the agreements that have been made between those individuals as interested in the sale and the product. Then these should be begun in the same way and manner as they have been heretofore. Yet would require the formation of an organization for the distribution of the products, and when taken into consideration that as has been given respecting same would make for DOUBLE in the abilities of distribution and in the amounts that may be the returns from same.
-
(Q) Who should he see in Woolworth’s and what plan should he offer? (A) Those same channels through which he has gone, or through that regular channel of distributing in all of those stores where these have been distributed, for the demand has been upon and for this particular product by the name it has been through the distribution. To be sure, it will require that there be met the necessary activities as will be made in placing product of kindred origin for the sale of same.
-
(Q) How can Mr. [423] of … Ave. aid in putting both products on the market in accordance with the last rdg.? [358-5] (A) In aiding in supplying that necessary factor in making for the awareness of the product in those various associations or centers in line of activity in which the body [423] is engaged.
-
(Q) Who of Mr. [423]‘s acquaintance could be interested in financing campaign? (A) This should be done AS we have outlined, as we would find the better way; those channels we have given, rather than to some individual - or ONE individual.
-
(Q) Should plan of manufacturing be changed to another beside Schieffelin, since they would consider public advertising unethical, or could a happy medium be worked out and keep them? (A) We do not find that it would be necessary for the change. It would only require that the distribution be done under the name or organization that has already been and is considered, and is a channel through which the products are being distributed at the present time. These belong to the organization, and all are a part or parcel of that which Dr. [358] has to offer in making such associations or connections for the distribution of the products.
-
(Q) When would be the time for the company to be organized? (A) This seems incomprehensible in the asking, for if there is a long period allowed to elapse before the whole production, or that which is in the line of being a product that is being in the present without the advertising, to elapse before it is offered on the market or in the same market, would make the necessity of building or creating a market again. Hence it should be gone about in such a way and manner by the time, or when the time has elapsed for the change necessary, and it has been acknowledged; yet this must be done legally, etc., in setting forth in all the associations and connections that which has been the legal factor, and in every way returned to the originators of the idea and of the product itself, that there may be the proper connections, associations and relations established for the continuing or the carrying on of the activity in the proper direction.
-
(Q) Who should be in this company? (A) Those interested; and, as indicated, there are those individuals - and these should be appealed to - necessary for that as may be set up as the organization, and the stock that it guarantees in the various activities offered to the public in that manner; that is, to the Profession, in certain fields - see?
-
That is all the questions on this reading.
-
We are through with this reading.

Dr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Dear Dr. Cayce:
“I received yours of January 4th & 8th and thank you for recommending ATOMIDINE to your friend from Latin American Country Mr. Nicholas Pedroso, of Philadelphia. I have received two letters from him and he seems to be very greatly interested in ATOMIDINE. I am writing him by today’s mail giving him all available information and also sending literature to two of his friends as requested by him.
I thank you very much indeed for your kind and personal interest in the matter and hope it may prove satisfactory. I will of course let you know what comes out of it later on.
I am also thankful for whatever invisible power influencing you for recommending other parties to take an interest in ATOMIDINE. All is well that ends well. Mr. [1734] returned to me the business in a ruined condition but I have been straightened things and making a slow but sure progress with the limited amount of capital at my disposal and I am sure to succeed when I have spiritual help as well as good and kind friends like your good self to help me.
I am very glad to know that ATOMIDINE proved quite helpful in a large number of cases which were advised to use ATOMIDINE. It is beneficial that the dosage of ATOMIDINE should be about 10 drops taken more often than larger doses. I received your letter from Miss Gladys addressed to the Reilly Service with reference to the wet battery for which I feel obliged. I forwarded that letter yesterday to the Reilly Service and have requested to know their terms. After hearing from them I will go and see the battery and get one. [See 358-4, Par. R7.]
Many thanks for all your kind wishes for the current year which I heartily reciprocate.
With kindest regards and best wishes, I am,”
Yours sincerely, [358]
R5. 3/8/35 Report to Dr. Bisey - ORIGINAL IN SPECIAL FILE
Excerpt from a Medical Report received from Dr. Desiderius de Beszedits, Hotel Panuco, Mexico City, Mexico, March 8, 1935.
I went to the offices of the Health Department on some personal Business. There I started a Discussion with a group of doctors and told them all about this ONLY WATER SOLUBLE IODINE IN EXISTENCE made by you, and that I have found an almost CURE ALL FOR EVERYDAY ILLS.
Just the other day while in the jungle, a VERY POISONOUS SNAKE HAD BITTEN an Indian who takes care of my mules and horses. His whole left leg was terribly swollen, blue and black and he was unconscious. I injected him (intergluteal) 1 cc of ATOMIDINE as prepared by me in a special spring water so that the 1 cc contained 0.03 grams of the diluteed solution of ATOMIDINE. In two hours the man was better, at 6 A.M. At 5 P.M. I injected him another (more heroic) doses of 1 cc with 0.05 of ATOMIDINE. That night at 8 P.M. with a beautiful moonlight we mounted our mules and he rode with me all night until 9 A.M. the next morning.
Signed: Dr. Desiderius De Beszedits, M.D.

Miss Gladys Davis, Secretary, ASS’N FOR RESEARCH & ENLIGHTENMENT, INC., Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Miss Gladys:
“My Mother being in no condition to answer your letter I wish to acknowledge same and convey her thanks to your kind sympathy.
Although my Father’s passing was quite sudden he had been ailing for the past two years following a stroke of paralysis. On Sunday April 7th, he succumbed to a heart attack but we have some consolation in that his death was without suffering and exactly as he would have wished it to be.
Because of his impaired health, when my Father took over the entire control and ownership of the Atomidine business he had the foresight to register the Company as above in my name and place all accounts in my charge. During these two years he thoroughly schooled me in every detail of the business so that the continuation of the business is a matter of mere routine. Please be assured that the Atomidine Company has not been affected and will carry on as in the past.
I hope I may enjoy the friendship and good will that existed between my Father and Dr. Cayce as I have dedicated my self to the task of demonstrating my worthiness to carry on in the foot steps of my Beloved Father.
With kind regards, I am,”
Sincerely yours,
Harold S. Bisey

Cable Address New Address: ATOMIDINE, New York 9 South Eighth Avenue Mount Vernon, N.Y.
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
“We have recently received an order for one bottle of Atomidine together with check therefore from a Mrs. Richmond Seay of 618 Main Street, Blackstone, Va., upon the recommendation offered by you in a psychic reading.
We of the Bisey family know very well of the fine work you have been doing and are doing for men and women everywhere. We are particularly happy at home to know that you are remaining a loyal friend of Atomidine. My father placed his entire faith in the benefits that Atomidine would have for ailing people and its merits have been well borne out.
Inasmuch as this order from Mrs. Seay has, in a sense, come through you, I am taking the liberty of issuing to your order a check for the commission which would normally be paid to the druggist ordering our products. The amount of this is trifling but perhaps you can place it to the benefit of the Association for Research & Enlightenment. This might be the beginning of later more substantial sums for that worthy Fund.
With every good wish from Mother, my brother and sister and myself.”
Sincerely yours,
Reginald S. Bisey

Mr. Erasmus L. Brancato A.R.E. member working with HLC re Atomidine] 361 Seventy-Seventh Street Brooklyn, 20, New York
Dear Mr. Brancato:
“This is to inform you of the trials that we ran with the sample of “Atomidine” against experimental neurotropic viruses. Atomidine inactivated in vitro the MM strain of neuropathic virus. At a concentration of 0.25%, it had no effect whatsoever as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent in experimental neurotropic virus infection in mice, nor did it eliminate neurotropic virus from the feces of mice. It appears to act as an oxidizing agent. Its in vitro effect is no greater than that of potassium permanganate, and Atomidine has no value against neurotropic virus in vivo.
We apologize for the delay in running these tests on your compound. These studies take a long time.”
Sincerely yours, David P. Earle
