1. EC: Going back over years - “27 - 26 - 25 - Yes, there’s a change here - 24 - 23 - 22 - 21 - 20 - Another change - 19 - 18” - etc.

2. Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and manifested in the personalities of the present entity.

3. As we find, that as would be given astrologically influences the entity; yet, as we will see from that as has been builded by the entity, environs may be said to be the greater influence in the present experience - but KNOW the impulse arises from that builded, PLUS the incentive through astrological influence.

4. Astrologically, then, we find as these:

5. In Mercury we find that influence bringing an aptitude in mental capacity and abilities. That, then, to which the entity may apply itself MENTALLY is accomplished, for the will’s influence is strong in the present experience, and when guided - or has its basis in the spiritual life, spiritualistic influence in the life - there may be builded that as will bring for the entity advancements in the mental, the material, the social, the financial world. Rather that the entity forgets not FROM whom, OF whom, the SOURCE OF supply comes, else the last estate in the present may become worse than the first; for, as we find, there will come those opportunities, those advancements, wherein through the capacities of the entity, as may be builded mentally, much of this world’s goods, and the position where many may depend upon the moral aptitude OF the entity. Hence with abilities comes responsibilities.

6. In Jupiter we find as influences that make for a wide scope of experience, and while the abilities are innate, and the mental capacities are in the manner of developing, as indicated, the INCENTIVE - or that which will enable the entity to have a purpose in view in material things, a purpose in view in the mental and spiritual things - these URGE the entity on. Well that the entity get the MEANING of SPIRITUALITY, as well as the spiritualistic INFLUENCES in associations, relations, and especially as to VALUATIONS in the moral, the mental, the spiritual and financial life; for to the entity an obligation morally is strong, and also friendships that are builded are as THINGS - and there remains ever a responsibility. Hence to be disappointed in people is as wrecking that upon which the entity has builded. The entity would be considered by SOME as a leader. TRUE, provided there is someone, or thing, or condition, that is the urge or the impulse for the entity to go forward. Hence the entity may be said to be passing through, in this experience, that of a crucial trial, or test, as to whether he is a big man, a developed and developing soul, or one that would again partake of those flesh pots in the satisfying of the callings of the flesh as to make that apparently strong become weakness in itself. KNOW, then, in WHOM thou hast believed, and that the ideal is set in things on high, rather than in that where moth and rust doth corrupt and where obligations may be turned into selfish desires.

7. Those influences in Mars make for many accentuations of the mental, as well as the ability - or broadness - of vision. Too oft has the entity experienced that the impelling force at times was that of PHYSICAL determination, that would not allow self to be downed by the activities of others. Grit, or “get-up” - termed by many. This an element that may be both constructive and destructive in the make-up OF an individual. Woe to him who may be RULED by wrath. Woe to him who is also of such a nature as to allow the temper, or the elements that make for impulses, to be so over-shadowed by that as is MOMENTARILY necessary for the activities of a life and not grounded in Truth, that arises from SPIRITUAL concepts.

8. In those things that make for influences in the occult, or of those that to the entity in a manner may be at times, WITH that ability as of strength of man become as intuitive forces as of the opposite sex - this not a weakness, when used in CONSTRUCTIVE manners. BECOMES a weakness when used as a shield to make for excuses, or blaming others for that in which strength of character of self, of ability of determinations of ideals, should be exercised by the entity. The entity, then, in a manner, as may be termed, is of a high SENSITIVE nature, especially in intuition, hunches, or the like - as they may be oft termed. Well, with the mental abilities, that these be often measured by that the entity would hold as its ideal; for fool not thine self nor others. Allow not thine house to be broken up by those of wanton stories, nor of easy things that would hunt for the easier way, or seek for that of the least resistance. These occur at periods, through this intuition - yet will [if] this strength [will] be rather that as is given, “Be ye strong in the Lord and HIS might,” there will gradually be, with the years, that which will make for (with the development) a closer communion with the spirituality of things, peoples, conditions, circumstances. Depend upon the Lord while He may be found, when the evil days come not, for when thou art old in this experience these will become that bulwark that will bring that contentment that makes for that peace as comes from the closer walk with God.

9. In the appearances and those influences, as we find there are warnings - both from astrological and appearances - as regarding the PHYSICAL body. Be mindful that there is not the abuse of the eyes, or of those things that would hinder in bringing for the body the better associations of the forces as manifest through the SENSORY system; remembering the super-sensitiveness of the body and that this may be nourished and cherished to where strength may come through same, physically, mentally, spiritually. Abused in EITHER direction may bring for the body those discouragements through those conditions as may arise, in the abuse of the body, the mind, or abilities.

10. In the appearance, then, before this, we find during that period when there were those peoples entering into the land through those of the hired soldiery as came into the land of the ABODE in the present; not nativity, but from the land of nativity. In this experience, in the name then Duezendorffeld, the entity in the PHYSICAL aspects rose to one of power; for through the activities were there supplied much of the needs of the physical forces of the body, yet when these were turned into secular uses rather than the proper considerations of all concerned, destructive forces entered, and the life was cut short. In this experience comes much of that business acumen, much of that ability to meet individuals, to meet circumstances; yet also that weakness, that there must be the encouraging word from someone else, there must be that incentive from someone else’s judgement as concerning that as must be acted upon by self. The abilities, the qualifications, those are present in the activities of the entity from this experience - yet these are as weaknesses, when counted in some directions. Hence KNOW in whom thou hast believed; measured not by the material desires of individuals, nor of those things that would gratify the desires of the physical body, but the purposes, the aims, the incentives, the impelling force that ACTIVATES those in whom confidences, or those in whom the entity would place friendship, and the like. In this experience the entity gained and lost, as is indicated, and much will be met. Hence desires for the attempt to meet those same conditions are INNATE. Hence the sojourning in the present land, and in that character of supplying does the entity in the present find vocational activities for those that have to do with dress, parade, band, music, and the like, furnish - or will supply - the channels through which the activities of the entity may be brought in contact with individuals, classes, groups, or masses, whom the body and its associations and relations would serve.

11. In the one then before this we find during those periods when there were the entering in of new ideas in law, order, religion, relationships of individuals, in that land known as the Roman - during those periods when changes came to the land. The entity then among those who were in authority and power; not as a ruler, but rather as one who committed, commanded, the keeping OF those orders as commanded or given by the rulers. Then in the name Pusendiao. In this experience the entity gained throughout; for entering as one with a purpose, not only as of that for the relationships of self to the country and to the peoples whom the entity served, but also in the filial and in the relationships as made for the closer understanding. Hence the binding together of those that make for duties as compared to, or related to, family relations and associations; and many will ever be dependent upon the entity as long as these ARE to be MET by the entity in the present experience. These are well, for duties and obligations weigh not heavy - but become a portion of the entity, as has been indicated, and as long as the ideal, the purposes and the aims of self are set aright, there may be that given out by the activities of self, even in this experience, when those ideas of the relationships to individuals and to the creative forces took on new meanings to the entity, and brought contentment and happiness to many. Though oft in duty as of the PHYSICAL sense there were done deeds that were abhorrent to the entity, yet duty remained - and to Caesar there were rendered the things that were Caesar’s, and to God the things that were God’s. In this respect the entity gained, as Pusendiao, in those experiences that make for that continual seeking in the present for those spiritual aspects and motivations that act in those UNSEEN manners with individuals, groups, or masses.

12. In the one then before this we find in that experience when there were divisions in the land now known as the Egyptian, and in those periods when there were the reconstruction of those lands and the dividing up of those peoples as to the various rulers, or those who had charge over various portions of the lands and peoples. The entity then among those, or that ONE given charge of that land THEN known as Deosho (?) - now Alexandria - that founded that making for the greatest collection of manuscripts, of writings, of the various forces, that has ever been known in the WORLD of experience in the earth’s plane. The ENTITY then the FOUNDER of that as carried on by successive generations of the entity’s descendants, as Arieecel [Ariecel]. In this experience the entity gained much through those associations of the ruler and of those that acted with the peoples that became emissaries; for as this was the outlet to many portions of the country to which emissaries and ambassadors were sent, the entity acted in the capacity of the one making the exchange and supplying those forces that builded for relationships with groups and individuals. Hence the ability to meet many elements as may arise in associations or relations with individuals, groups, classes or masses.

13. In the abilities, then, of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:

14. As we have seen, there is set before thee - even in this experience, as of old - BOTH good and evil. Choose thou, whether the things partaken of, used and relied upon, partake of that that gives life in all its form or essence to the various activities - whether of the hand, the mind, or of the soul - and these will make for that as will be builded to make for the development that brings the closer relationship to the divine; or whether these turn into those channels that partake of rather the gratifying of the flesh, the building of fame and fortune, and that as to “What will others say?”, bringing discontent, dissolution, and those little AGGRAVATING conditions that make for distress, disorder, dissolution.

15. KEEP the faith as was seen in Pusendiao’s activities, which arose from that as was given, “I AM the way, the truth, and the light! No one approaches but by me!” As the entity heard those from the various teachers, as of Peter, Paul, Barnabas, Apollos, Priscilla, and others, there came that understanding which brought into the experience, that - that which LIVED speaks, when that as may be said is that as we would have the others see.

16. So, in meeting the issues day by day, whether in business, in the home, in the relationships with others, the kind word turneth away anger - while quick, passionate appeal stirreth up anger. That peace that comes with the self being right makes for that as will give the better understanding IN others, TO others, OF others, and to self.

18. (Q) What should entity do to gain most in every way, in this experience? (A) As has been given.

19. (Q) What are entity’s faults and how should they be corrected? (A) These have also been given. Be mindful that those relationships, those conditions, are ever met with the WORDS of TRUTH, the ACTS of fidelity, the UNDERSTANDING of the sage, the ACTIVITIES of one that WOULD be strong.

20. (Q) What can entity do towards giving his brother, […], faith in God, and His work thru Edgar Cayce? (A) First find that as is applicable in thine own experience. Let the activities of the body, physical and mental, reflect that as has been found - or be lived by self, giving CONFIDENCE to self and to others in that that has been found.

R6. 10/25/37 “Very frequently we attend the lectures of Dr. Emmett Fox and I find them enlightening and helpful. His attendance on Sunday has grown to such an extent that he is filling the Hippodrome here in N.Y.”

R7. 12/16/41 EC’s letter to Miss [259]: “Yes, we have some German friends in N.Y.; in fact, they are the people whom [641] and [348] work for - uniform makers. Both of these boys [[412] and his brother […]] were machine gunners for Germany in the last war. Their father [1961] and mother [494] have come to live with them and can’t speak a word of English. They are in a bad way just now, as a lot of their folks are in Germany, of course - don’t know where it will lead.”

R8. 12/16/41 Mr. [641]‘s statement: “Mr. [412] told me that when he was a very young man in the last war in Germany, he made a vow that he and his family would never go hungry again. That’s why he has worked so hard to make a success in business in this country.”

R9. 1/13/42 Mr. [412] wrote EC for another business rdg:

Last night, I received your circular letter [1/8/42 see under 2678-1 Background] at a time where I just was wondering “What will be next”. Things are running so extremely rapidly that I doubt if many people are in a position to follow what is going on. I, myself, have gone through a similar situation on the other side and see the handwriting on the wall. We, ourselves, are faced with serious problems at this time just like many smaller merchants already had to deal with.

Therefore, I wanted to write you already several days ago asking you for a business reading in connection with the problems we are facing. I wonder whether you would be kind enough to consent to this or whether you feel I should wait with it. In any case, the future outlook is extremely doubtful and with government regulations getting stricter one doesn’t know what will happen the next day. Therefore, would you be kind enough to drop me a line and let me hear from you whether you would be willing to grant my request and when, in your opinion, you may give the reading.

By the time this letter reaches you, you probably have received the piece of furniture which I shipped via Pennsylvania railroad prepaid. You probably remember the couch you looked at when you were at my home. We had it boxed up here at the office and no doubt, it should have arrived safely.

In regard to your message which you sent us, it will be a pleasure to join in with you and both [457] and myself will be a party of it…

R14. 9/29/43 You probablyly are interested in knowing how the family is doing. I am very happy to report that everybody is fine. The coming Thursday the baby will be six weeks old and she has gained over two pounds since. Since the last few days she has begun to smile and we are all very happy. [457] is feeling well and of course the feedings at three hour intervals day and night were quite a strain on both of us. We are now changing to a four hour schedule and cutting out night feedings which of course does not work immediately. Altogether things are turning out pretty good.

R15. He reported on mother’s rdg. 494-6, and his own 412-14, saying: “I hope everything in your family is going well and that the family continues to grow. In particular I hope that you also follow your own rdgs. occasionally so that you may benefit by them as well. Don’t forget the next time you are here in N.Y. to set an evening aside to be with us and to meet Miss [3172]. [457] and I and the baby send you greetings, and with best regards to Mrs. Cayce, Gladys and the rest of the family, I remain,” Sincerely yours, [412]

R16. 10/7/43 “I didn’t know that both of your boys are already overseas. I sincerely hope that they will return again the way they have left. During the last war I have gone through some difficult times in my young age. When my brother came back from a war which we lost, I assure you it was very difficult. I hope that our boys will not have to go through any experience of that nature.”

R17. 3/21/44 “We are planning to have a playmate for [3172] and if this goes through, we would like to have a monthly ck. rdg. coming up at that time [for [457], as before]. So please advise as to procedure.”
