GC: You will have before you the body of [459], present in this room, and her various mental conditions and surroundings, with her past and future work, and the especial association with her brother [257], in this room, and the mother [325], and son [1856] - the boards of the Temple …, …, N.J., and the influence of the late Rabbi [4159] now of sacred memory and the father […] of blessed memory - all for the advice and guidance of this entity [459] as to her future work, beginning in January, for the advantage of the faith and her personal livelihood. After the advice, you will answer the questions I will ask you regarding all of these.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [459]. This we have had before. [See 459-1, Par. B1.] In the many changes as have come to the body, physical and mental, since last we have had same - these experiences are but the stepping stones for the understanding of that to which the body, physical and mental, may apply itself in the present conditions, in the future, or in the conditions that become as past, present AND future all in one.
-
In the consideration of the varied conditions as confront the body, the ENTITY - these should be weighed well in the faith, in the understanding as has been and as may be gained by the entity, in meeting the conditions. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What advice is offered by the Rabbi and Father as to the right work for this body? (A) In the conditions as exist at present, well would there be due consideration of the interests as have been manifest as respecting the physical and mental efforts of the body, [459] - respecting those with whom the body has been associated. These would be WONDERFUL for the time being, yet - as the changes come with the varied conditions as would arise - there would again rise those misunderstandings, those hardships, that would make for consternation - rather than for the understanding. In the present, then, and during the next few years, there should be the more consideration given as respecting those PHYSICALLY dependent upon the body for the correct understanding of their own developing lives toward that as has been mapped out for at least one [son [1856]]. Also for the succor, aid, counsel that the body - physical and mental - may give to those that are rather in the decline and lean upon the entity [mother [325]?] for that understanding, that counsel, that aid as may be gained through the efforts of the entity. This indeed is a LOVABLE work; not as spectacular as assuming responsibilities in a broader field, but he - or she - that denyeth [his or her] thine own for aid for another is but building that consternation that dissatisfies and breeds discontent, and - finally - dissatisfaction and disactions in self’s own activities. See?
-
(Q) Should she continue the work at …, [N.J.] for the present? (A) This is as has been given! In the consideration of this, as has just been given, there is seen that at the present moment - for three to five, to six moons - these would be wonderful! Then the aftermath!
-
(Q) What immediate steps should she take to change her plans? (A) Why change plans? Why not carry on in that as has just been outlined, for those PHYSICALLY DEPENDENT upon the ABILITIES of the self? This need not alter the succor, the aid, that may be lent in many channels - but rather let first that dependence - physical and mental - the old and the young - rely upon the efforts OF the entity, and fulfill that in the same way and manner as has been conducted with the aid of another.
-
(Q) Would it be better to live in the present home at …, [N.J.], or live in New York with her mother? [325] (A) With mother.
-
(Q) For what price should the home in …, [N.J.] - … Ave. - be sold, and when will be the best time? (A) In April, and for at least twice that interest held in same. [5/15/30 See brother’s rdg. 257-57, Par. 39-A—44-A.]
-
(Q) Sometime ago a prophecy was given, that she would be to this day and age what Ruth [See The Book of Ruth in re Ruth, the Moabitess, becoming the mother of Obed who became the father of Jesse, who became the father of David.] was to her day and age. (A) In the son it’s being fulfilled, will that service as in the proper way, the proper carrying on of the efforts of that one in the way and manner as has been determined in self.
Then FILL that, considering ALL angles of the development of that one upon whom the MENTAL will fall. [See son’s Life Rdg., 1856-1 on 4/1/39 and subsequent Reports.]
-
(Q) What school is best for the rearing of the son? (A) The HOME school the best for the beginning. In the DEVELOPING, these may change - for there are many changes being made in just such institutions for the rearing or the GUIDING of individuals in their training. Rather should such places be considered as GUIDING - not TEACHING, in ITS common sense.
-
(Q) What career would be best to plan for this life in order that we can begin now? (A) In that as has been given! It hasn’t changed a particle!
-
(Q) Should [daughter [2444]] go to the same school? (A) The home school, yes. To other schools, this will be changed.
-
(Q) How can the body best assist her mother [325] without changing her personal plans, in order that her mother may live to a ripe old age? (A) This has been explained. Just do that.
-
(Q) How should [257], the brother, invest fifty thousand dollars for [459] to insure her a regular safe income for life? (A) In industrials that are paying in, in sufficient amounts for the carrying on of the developments as will be necessary for the body mental and physical.
-
(Q) What special investment for the month of January will bring a good appreciation in its value for a thirty day turn for current expenses? (A) Sears-Roebuck.
-
(Q) Is it possible to divide the investment in any way to bring an income of ten percent and yet be safe - such as second mortgage? (A) These may be made very good. [See brother’s rdg. 257-73, Par. 58-A on 9/26/31 in re handling of [459]‘s stock.]
-
(Q) What will time known as year 1930 bring to this body? (A) Many changes, both as to mental and as to material status. Changes in many things unseen at present. Changes in the environs, in the home - Now this only makes a wonder, but it’s asked - then just watch ‘em happen! But you will wait until you find them!
-
(Q) Should the congregation select a new rabbi before June? (A) We haven’t a congregation!
-
(Q) Should [459] assist the congregation to select a new rabbi? before June, to carry on the work? (A) If asked to, but don’t insist on placing a man!
-
(Q) Should the body re-marry? (A) When it chooses! [See brother’s rdg. 257-58 on 5/16/30, Par. 30-A—35-A, in re [459]‘s personal affairs and associations.]
-
(Q) What should brother [257] do to assist the future of [459]? (A) Don’t meddle too much! Rather be the lean, or the stay, in counsel - than in attempting to force own ideas as to control, either of self’s views, activities - but rather consider that each individual has its OWN responsibilities, and that IDEAL as has been builded in eight to nine years of constant association MUST mean, must stand, for something. Do not hinder that guidance as may be gained by the entity, gaining its attunement to those forces and environs that may aid in the upbuilding, in the bringing up, and in the aid as may be lent BY the entity - [459] - that THESE MAY MANIFEST themselves in their proper channels. Just aid by counsel, by a stay. Stay steadfast in that as has been given, in making thine SON [1856] one as a messenger to many peoples, even as David did of old.
-
(Q) Please advise body as to her physical attention and welfare. (A) These are very good. Keep thine mind attuned to the calls of the divine within. Keep the body physically fit, through the proper exercises - physical and mental - lending most of self’s energies to another, and to others, rather than saving self in that, that would be - he must first be given; for he that seeks the Lord must believe that He is, would they [if he would] find Him; for one doubting has already builded that barrier that prevents the proper understanding, whether as to physical, mental or spiritual attributes, or spiritual aid, or mental aid, or physical aid; for that in faith sought for shall be thine, even as was given, “Be my people and I will be your God”. We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/30 “I feel better for having made the visit to your delightful home and now that I have so much to think about I feel that only time will bring all predicted. Really, I feel that I have gained years of experience over the period of a few days spent with you all. My, what a masterful rdg. and how beautifully you spoke in giving the information asked - just as one of the sages of old foretelling what God had in store for his children. I’m sure I’ll try and carry on just as God has asked through you and [4159] and my Dad, and all those interested.”
R2. 8/15/30 She wrote enthusiastically of her work as executive sec’ty in a girl’s camp: “It’s about the best thing I can do in order to be with the children [son [1856] in a boy’s camp nearby] and yet earn money.”
R3. 9/6/30 See 459-2 in re her life and work.
