This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of September, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [460].

Time of Reading 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body & enquiring mind - Questions)

1. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [460] - this we have had before. We have those conditions and circumstances which surround the body; also that as has been given in the activities FOR the body mental. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) What physical disturbances are there in the body causing the pimples on the face and back? (A) This, as we find, as has been given, is a GLAND disturbance, and is produced by the lack of, or an over-balancing of, the ELEMENTAL forces in the body itself, and is from the improper GLAND secretions. We will find, in this particular condition, were those [if these were] properties of the Atomidine used - these would be most beneficial for the body. These we would take, however, in this way and manner, for the better conditions: About half an hour before the meals, see (and eat the meals!), we would take from three to five drops in half a glass of water. This we would keep for a week to ten days, then stop for three to five days, see - then begin again; and do this, or repeat this, for at least three or four such periods.

In the matter of the properties as are to be eliminated by the taking of this, we will find this will act WITH the body as eliminants and solvents of those conditions as PRODUCE the irritation in the lymph circulation. We would find ALSO that to remove those blotches, the depilatory properties as are prepared from the Armand & Armand cream - not that as is POND’S Almond, but from those of Armand’s creams - would be well to be applied as the removers of such blotches. Take such as that as is prepared by the Fink & Lehn [Lehn & Fink? Lehn & Fink Products Corporation, N.Y.C.?] [See 460-4, Par. R8] Company, see, in the depilatory cream, or night cream. To this - that is, to a small jar - two ounce jar - we would add - pour this out in a larger container, and add to this - see - twenty-five drops of Oil of Sassafras, with one-half dram of Sulphur. Mix this thoroughly into this cream, see - then apply small portion of same over these blotches at night. Of mornings, with the CLEANSING cream - as of Pond’s or Elcaya company - we would CLEANSE the skin.

In the matter of diet to increase the weight, we will find that those foods that do not carry greases or spices or condiments, will be MUCH the better for the body. Potatoes - Irish or sweet potatoes - use the SMALL variety, eating the jackets when they are roasted, rather than that of the pulp so much - see? The cooked apples, cooked fruits, and ESPECIALLY those of liver, olive oils - that is, dressings of olive oil (which is a food, and not a fat, see?), and such natures, will be those things that will make both weight and better eliminations for the body.

3. (Q) What causes the growth of the superfluous hair on face, and how should such be remedied? (A) Just as has been given as regarding the blotches, that the use of the cream - in its alteration as has just been outlined for it - in a two ounce size.

4. (Q) Has the body met the man she is to marry? [See 460-1, Par. 7; 460-3, Par. 9-A.] [See 460-4, Par. R1.] (A) As we find, there are some associations, someone that has been met that WOULD make - under the circumstances, as has been outlined FOR the body - the proper mate. This the body will understand from the associations, and from the surroundings and conditions that have recently happened as respecting this.

5. (Q) Would body be successful in writing a book on Jewish History? (A) This line of endeavor would be well for the body, should there be taken the proper consideration as respecting the history as pertaining to the various RETURNS - if it may be termed so - of the Jewish people to the worship in and under its various circumstances. Now, to be sure, this may be called that there has been many such an undertaking in the various periods of such writings - but this character of a presentation of the subject, coming at a period when there has been so much consideration given those that would return to the holy land, the persecutions and the rising of those of that race in the various lands, the activities of those in the various lands as respecting various religious influences in the LIVES of the people - and we will have a different book, see? Begin as the basis of same, that [relating of those] as were the first promises to such a people when they were called, or he who became the father of same was called from the Ur, when he entered into Egypt, called again into the land - promise land - the descent again into Egypt, not as a history of THAT portion - see? That as a BACKGROUND! That PORTION as the history coming most as the history of the JEW in the religious life of the WORLD as a whole today! whether it pertains to Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism, Mohammedanism, Christian or Jewish.

6. (Q) In what lines of endeavor will this body be best suited? (A) As an instructress in philosophical lines.

7. (Q) In what way should she prepare herself for this? (A) The preparation has been made. The contacts and the activities NEED to be put in motion.

R2. 10/10/31 “I am quite pleased with the rdg. and am acting on the suggestions immediately if not sooner. One or two things I couldn’t quite understand but we’ll ck. ‘em up one of these days in another rdg… Anyhow there are some excellent suggestions and I’ll try to carry them out.”

R3. 11/27/33 See Ck. Physical 460-5, indicating that at times she still has breaking out (Acne) on face, and that the treatment has not been carried out exactly as prescribed.

R4. 1/4/35 Mother [325]‘s ltr.: “I was more than grateful to you for the rdg. for [460]. It was most beautifully expressed and I hope that it will all come out as said. Well, dear Judge, [460] and […] announced their engagement on New Year’s night to me, and all the rest you know, so let us hope for the best. He has a lovely family.”

R5. 1/24/35 Miss [460]‘s ltr.: “…and I want to thank you for your good wishes. From all indications everything should turn out swell. At least we have the sanction of ‘the Forces.’”

R6. 6/6/35 Mother [325]‘s letter: [460] gets married on June 27th - her vacation, as she continues to keep her position.”

R8. 8/10/66 GD’s note: Mr. R. L. Ingram, pharmacist, of Ingram’s Pharmacy #2, Virginia Beach, just told me that the Armand & Armand Company is now out of existence, also the Elcaya company. Pond’s Cleansing Cream is still sold, of course. He can’t find any depilatory or cream now manfactured by Lehn & Fink, though they may have been making one back in the early 30’s. He says there used to be a Pond’s Almond cream on the market.
