GC: You will have before you the life existence in the earth plane of [1523], born December 2, 1908, in Oceana, Va., and the earthly existence of this entity as Mae Umbor in the Dearborn period. You will give a biographical life of the entity in that day and plane of earthly existence, from entrance - and how - into the earth’s plane, and the entity’s departure, giving the development or retarding points in such an existence, as they apply to the present life and associations, and what should be done about same. You will then answer the questions, as I ask them, concerning her present life and associations - from the standpoint of that sojourn.
-
EC: Yes, we are given here the records of this entity, [1523].
-
In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them, something of the conditions as history, as well as the attitudes and plans of developments in that experience, will be necessary in order to indicate the background of the activities as well as the developments, associations and retardments.
-
Know that in analyzing same, and in the application of virtues or vices that may be indicated, the PRESENT is an opportunity for releasing self in every manner from such as might have hindered or may hinder - in Him who is the way, the truth, the light.
-
For, as He has indicated, “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” and these are not grievous. And He has also given, even to those who questioned Him, “I condemn thee not; sin no more.”
-
In that experience we find the entity was among those peoples who had pushed forward as settlers in the land; and the entity grew up in the frontier home of the father, the mother, among several children.
-
The entity at home or upon the farm, as it would be called, with a general store, met one - a ne’er-do-well, who [4930] induced the entity to accompany him to the Dearborn activity.
-
Thus we find the entity, with the companion, at the age of seventeen years, entered into that life as an entertainer, and as one who aided in inducing individuals to spend money, - as the travelers as well as those who sought the gaming table, as well as the drinking that was a portion of the activity of the companion there.
-
Then the association with one Bainbridge [294], who became very fond of the entity; and with those activities kept the companionship and association of both Bainbridge and Umbor through the periods of that particular sojourn, - yet also keeping the position as the entertainer, as a waitress, and the activity in the inn there that was known as “You Know” - YOU KNOW!
-
In that experience the entity lost, the entity gained; for the sincerity and the purposes for advancement were a part of the entity’s experience. That experience lasted for some three years, and then there were the disturbances from the attacks to the forts by the French and Indians, and those activities which brought about the closing of that frontier; and eventually the destruction of most of the fort there.
-
The entity, with some of its companions - who have been and are a part of the entity’s present experience - journeyed towards the South and East; and thus came into what is known as the Tidewater area, and was so known even in those periods.
-
The entity was a companion with Bainbridge at the crossing of the Ohio, though the entity succeeded in escaping, - through the efforts of Bainbridge, who lost his life there.*
-
That changed the activities, the attitudes of the entity in EVERY way and manner; and as it came into those activities of the colonizations about what is now Williamsburg, Jamestown, Norfolk and Yorktown, the entity became rather as one to whom many came for counsel and advice.
-
The entity entered into a life of HELPFULNESS to all. Wherever there were needs for the assistance to the sick, to those distressed, to those in a disturbance of most any nature, the entity entered with those activities in which
- [9/15/42 See 2778-2, Par 20, 21, indicating [2778] was a neglected child of [1523] and [4930] in that period and that [1523] in the present could learn consistency by administering to the needs of [2778], now a polio victim. 3/9/43 See 2778-4 giving more details.]
there became the endearment of the entity to those peoples of the entire section, - until the entity became known as the angel to those in need, no matter what their station or place might be.
-
The entity resided in that section through the remaining periods of its sojourn in that earthly experience.
-
As to the periods of development, of advancement, of retardments, - these might make questions, if judged from some standards, as they did through those periods in the minds and activities of many. Yet the period was one from which, because of the highly emotional natures, there come the present problems as well as virtues.
-
Also the abilities as a helper in the tavern or restaurant, as called today, arise from those urges latent and manifested; as well as the abilities in entertaining, - not only in song but in conversation. For, it may be noted by others - and not so much by the entity - that in any throng or group, when the entity speaks others listen.
-
These offer opportunities, - they also bring responsibilities that are to be applied - as has been indicated in those channels and directions to use that which has been gained, not only through the experiences in the Dearborn and Tidewater area but that may be a part of the present experience.
-
In the latter portion of that sojourn the entity became the companion and the helper to many; and those in the own home in the present, in the own household, were of the friends as well as the enemies.
-
These will be met, must be met, - not in the turmoils of that period, but rather in the awareness of those promises which are in Him who is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts.
-
Then, let the knowledge and the understanding of that experience become not as an excuse, but as something that may be used as a stepping-stone for the aiding and the comfort of many who will and do come under the activities of the entity in this present experience.
-
The entity lived then to be only forty-eight, - when the disturbing forces by raids from the warring forces cut or brought that experience to a close.
-
In the present, the, - these also may bring hopefulness for a life - as then - well lived; though in those experiences exciting to the mental abilities. Hence no wonder the entity in the present has lived, does live, an exciting experience!
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Regarding the period of disturbance indicated astrologically for 1940 and 1941, because of changes thru associations in the material plane, - please explain just what this refers to, and if it is still indicated, how may I best prepare myself for it and meet it correctly? (A) As we find, as indicated, - preparations have been made. There are not the indications that this will be any great change, for the immediate. It will be rather an outcome, or an outgrowth, of the manner in which the entity has met and does meet the problems that arise.
To give as to what such would be, would not be in keeping with the entity using self’s OWN will, self’s own choice or judgement. [See 1523-13, Par. 27-A.]
- (Q) Have I met or been associated in the present with the companion who fled with me from Dearborn, and thru whom I lost much in material things? (A) As indicated, through the associations with Bainbridge there were activities in which loss materially, physically, came to the entity, yet those in which help also came in the end.
In the present from those associations and activities there are to be the close associations, but as of a helpfulness one to the other.
Is there any wonder, then, that there has been, and is, not only a physical but a mental and material attraction between them?
For, the life, the opportunity was granted by that companion, who had caused so much disturbance.
- (Q) What are the urges from Dearborn in relation to [1650], my present husband, and how can I best use them for our mutual development? (A) That was a period of association, we find, in which the present husband, [1650], then came to the entity for counsel, for help; and in which physical nursing of the entity gave the body, [1523] the opportunity then for encouraging and making the associations and activities through the rest of that experience as a helpful influence to both.
In the present it will be found that each - EACH - will depend, and rely, upon the other; and that EVER the question is as to the sincerity of each.
Then, the manners of application are again in order with those criterions which have been indicated above.
- (Q) What has been the past association with my sister, [1548], that has brought about the apparent antagonistic attitude toward one another? Just how should I meet this situation for our mutual development? (A) In that experience we find that in the Tidewater area they were antagonists for the companionship of the present husband. Not that the entity took the husband away from the sister, but because of their associations, because of their companionship, because of the willingness to bring encouragement and to nurse the entity back to life, there came first that of jealousy, then suspicion and then hate.
Thus, as indicated in the present experience of each, they are each suspicious of the other, - more than hating or misjudging the other.
Don’t be suspicious of others, if you would not have others suspicious of thee! This is that to be applied in the experience in that association.
Sow seeds of confidence, even though they are trampled upon. But don’t sow them and expect them to be trampled upon! Be hurt whenever they are, yes, - but do it again and again!
Was He not buffeted for thee? Are ye not in association and companionship with thy sister, then, that ye may - as He - give and give again of those hopes, of those helps, of those confidences, of that love which bringeth harmony and peace to all? [See 1548-6, Par. R11 indicating the karma is being worked out between [1523] and her sister.]
- (Q) Regarding the following individuals, - please tell me, as I call their names, just what definite steps I can take to help them get a better understanding of their present difficulties? First: [934]? (A) These might not be indicated from here, only as to self’s association WITH the entity.
As to the problems of [934] they are her own. But the entity, [934], was among the girls to whom Bainbridge paid court, and brought disturbances into the experience of the entity through same, - yet these were never justified in the activities that were brought about.
Hence the counsel in the present is to rely upon truth, honesty, sincerity, AND the love in the hope of the Master.
- (Q) Second, my brother, [4930]? (A) The brother was then that companion who first brought the entity to the Dearborn experience. Hence an antagonism in the present that is a loving antagonism, not always understood.
Hence the needs of counsel oft, and do not fear at being questioned as to why ye would or do counsel!
-
(Q) Third, [[1277] and Husband]? (A) We do not find them associated in that sojourn, save as afar off. [GD’s note: This is evidently referring to [1277]‘s husband, since 1523-6, Par. 32-A indicated an association of [1523] with [1277] in the Dearborn period.]
-
(Q) What has been my past association with [4732] and husband, and what can I do to meet the situation for our mutual development in the present? (A) We find that there were associations in the latter portion of the experience; first, very close in the associations with each, for they were companions then. Then, because of questionings and of tales oft told (untrue) there were brought separations, and animosities, and judgements.
Hence in the present, judge not harshly, - even though they may say or do things that are unbecoming to thine own way of thought or purpose. [See 1523-11, Par. R7.]
- We are through for the present.

R7. 5/9/43 Mrs. [4732] wrote [1523]: “[1523], I miss you so. I know you don’t understand why I don’t do something about it, but darling I am of a different make-up from you, and I can’t just throw my whole household into the discard on a chance that […] won’t back up his words. You see (different from you) I believe he means what he says he means. You see this is more than just my desire for your superb friendship and my craving for fun, which only you can give me - but this is my life, good or bad - the only one I have known in adult years, and as you yourself have so often said, I can’t bear change.
“Yes, I’m a bit ‘light’ and why not? I’m alone and terribly lonesome and dying to call you up, but I don’t dare, at the moment…
“I can always think back when desperate on ‘[1523] said this’ and it’s better than nothing. I’ve had this beautiful association and that at least can’t be taken from me. But being an incurable optimist, as always, I will say they can’t do this to me for long.” [Her husband had forbidden her to see [1523], saying [1523] was a bad influence on [4732]].

He pulled out the old Coronet article which she had enclosed in a letter asking him to find out about it, whether the man was real or not, etc. So he evidently read the article for the first time and I suppose was impressed. Anyway he came in asking, ‘Have you got that book here?’ I wrapped it for him while he waited, as he wanted to send it AIR MAIL! to prove to his friend that Edgar Cayce DID exist.
Can you beat that? As he left he said, ‘If you see [4732], I haven’t been here.’”
R9. 10/51 Mrs. [4732]‘s ltr. to [1523]: “You once told me you thought I’d never leave… At the time I was sure of that also, but one never knows, does one? Life with him had become intolerable and I was cheapening myself keeping on with it - the only regret I have is for […]‘s sake [15 yr. old son], that I left so abruptly, but […] was in one of his dangerous rages (no doubt with cause) and I didn’t feel like staying around to see what would happen.
“I am happy and leading a good life. Far better than I was in Va. I have at last found just what I wanted, in […]. We are living in a most beautiful spot…without telephone and all modern conveniences. I even have learned to cook on a wood stove, but we love it here. We have our own small boat and motor and spend a good deal of time fishing…
“I understand you see […] [son] occasionally. Tell me about him.”
R10. 1/7/54 “I hear from [son] and […] frequently. He […] seems to have completely forgiven me.”
R11. 2/10/59 Mrs. [4732]‘s ltr. to Mrs. [1523]: “I really think you’ll enjoy this book, if you have time to read it [THE LATE LIZ, by Elizabeth Burns]. It kind of reminds me of your life (this life).”
R12. 7/27/46 Gina Cerminara’s letter to Mrs. [1523]:
Dear [1523]:
Some time ago you expressed willingness to give me any details that might be useful in the preparation of the life readings book MANY MANSIONS]; and I have just reached a point where I would like to call on you to make good your promise.
All of your life readings are very interesting and significant; but the angle I am working on right now is brother-sister relationships. I have several interesting cases of antagonism between siblings, and the case of you and your sister [1548] is quite clean-cut and dramatic, so I am planning on using it. It would be helpful to me, though, in writing it up, to know exactly in what way this antagonism and suspicion (as the readings call it) manifested itself. [GD’s note: See Gina’a book MANY MANSIONS [especially pp. 208-209 referring to above mentioned cases.] published by WILLIAM SLOANE ASSOCIATES, INC., Nov. 1950.]
Would you be willing to write a few pages describing this relationship? How the antagonism began - if it can be said to have begun at any point - and some incidents that showed up - or perhaps some one incident that typified it.
Naturally, as you well know, this information will be held in strictest confidence, and if published, done so in strict anonymity. Any light you can shed on the karma involved, through having thought about it and interpreted it over a period of years, would be also valuable. Did [1548] have any definite feeling towards [1650]? Or he towards her? Is there any other karmic clue, besides that given in your 3rd Life Reading [1523-11, Par. 28-A] that I may have missed but that sheds light on the relationship?
If you should happen to remember any other case in the files of outstanding brother-sister antagonism or attachment, due to some previous life situation, I would be interested in knowing of it. Of course I am making quite a complete coverage of the cases - reading every case in the vault (every Life Reading, that is) - but it sometimes happens that some drama escapes a reader who does not know the characters in question.
I hope that you’re finding life as intriguing as usual, and that all sorts of good things are coming your way. There’s no great rush about this report, though I would like to have it within the next few weeks, if at all possible - by the middle of August at the latest. If you can type it, I would appreciate it:
Thanks a million and my best wishes to you.
Sincerely yours, Gina Cerminara
R13. 8/7/46 [1523]‘s letter to Gina Cerminara:
Dear Gina:-
Probably the best way to write up the report you requested is to picture myself talking to you. My spelling is lousy and I’m pretty much out of practice writing - but here goes!
The disharmony between [1548] and me started at a very early age. The first incident I remember took place when I was about eight and [1548] fourteen. Two cousins (girls about the same ages as ours) visited us for a few days. I suppose it isn’t at all uncommon for kids to clash but somehow this seemed to stand out in my mind. Any attention I would get annoyed [1548] to the point that she would whip up all kinds of imaginary things, such as pretending that she was going somewhere or that she had toys to play with, and if they wanted to share these things with her - they would have to leave me out of it. I was no match for her then and she usually won her point. I wasn’t conscious of having any feeling of antagonism at that age, but I would feel hurt and defeated and most often would end up playing by myself and of course feeling very sorry for myself. Envy seemed to be the outstanding feeling at that time. I remember that Santa had brought her a wonderful doll that would open and shut its eyes, and had long curly hair. I was never permitted to play with the doll - just look at it occasionally. Each year I wrote to Santa for a doll that looked just like that one - but it never came. Later when I found out who Santa was I couldn’t understand why such partiality was shown. I guess I did envy her.
The next thing I remember was on more of a grown-up scale. [1548] had a boy friend whose name was Bob. He was quite handsome - the Clark Gable type - and his father was a rather well-to-do farmer. Bob used to ride by our home quite often, driving one of his dad’s trucks hauling produce to be shipped and [1548] would watch for him so that she could wave and throw kisses to him. When I caught her at this I began doing the same thing and teasing her. She hadn’t meant for me or anyone else to see this demonstration of her affection for Bob, and we would get into a fist fight over it. I used to hide behind doors and wait to catch her (See Q-5, L-R-French Period) [1523-13, Par. 25-A] and get no end of satisfaction out of it even though she would win the fist-fights. Later on she used other tactics by taking me partly into her confidence. I was so pleased with being in the know that even though she used me to accomplish her own ends - I didn’t mind.
Some years later when she was in senior high I found myself being left out of the know and that just increased my curiosity. From this time on she became so secretive that she didn’t even want me to know how many pairs of hose she owned. When her dates would come around I’d get a little attention - here and there - then jealousy came to the foreground. She would pull the big sister act to cover up - but I was beginning to grow up and it didn’t fool me one bit. [1548] had a beautiful body and was very distinguished looking, yet having typhoid fever at an early age did something to her that made her shoot up like a weed. Being 6 feet tall made it very difficult for her to get clothes and her shoes had to be made to order. Besides, being so tall eliminated many escorts that she would normally have had. In her mind this grew into a major handicap and eventually gave her a complex that made her feel that I had gotten all the breaks, and she none. She affected an attitude of indifference but underneath she was very possessive and that just complicated things for her right and left. When I was around this complex seemed to emphasize her secretiveness, and even though everything was kept in order on the surface for the benefit of the elders, I had the feeling that all was not as it seemed. When I would get after her about what I thought we would invariably wind up scrapping. Mama [1541] got so she didn’t pay any attention to us but just let us fight it out.
After I was separated from [2508] and before I married [1650] we spent three winters together. Beginning then, another outstanding characteristic presented itself and has stayed with us right along. She always felt quite free to take anything that was mine - first without my knowing it and eventually it didn’t matter whether I knew it or not. For instance in New York she was going to school part time to get her Master’s Degree in Physical Education, and I was making enough money to keep us going. She was keeping track of everything spent so that she could pay me back. I was doing waitress work and would bring home my tips and keep them in a box. In checking just to see how I was doing I discovered that either I couldn’t count or someone was taking my money. We had another girl in with us so I didn’t say anything until I found out what was going on. [1548] was helping herself to enough to take herself and one of the students she had a crush on, to plays, etc. Then the year we went to Florida we had the understanding that we’d pool our earnings - everything fifty-fifty. I had a job lined up which I turned over to her because it would be easier for me to get a job than it would for her - neither of us were looking for anything permanent. When she became ill with T.B. and I took over the job that was intended for me - even at the end of the season I made
18.00 the first day - and all along she had been telling me that she wasn't making over5.00 even on good days. I didn’t average that $5.00 a day in the job I took, and had to work like “hello Pete” too - sometimes as late as 12 at night. She knew all this but apparently felt quite alright - so long as I didn’t know that she was salting her extra money away. By the time I found out what was going on she was so sick with T.B. that I never mentioned it to her. It worked out that she needed all that she’d made and more before she got back on her feet. (Since she felt that I had taken Mr. [1650] away from her - even though the readings indicated that was not the case - she undoubtedly came back this time with the feeling that anything she could take from me was her due - for it certainly never seemed to bother her conscience). The second year we were in N.Y. I met Mr. [1650]. Whenever she knew he was coming to the apartment - she would leave. In the main she made every possible effort to avoid him. She wasn’t ugly to him, but just wouldn’t enter into our activities if she could help it. [1650] wondered why, but it apparently didn’t bother him, he assumed an air of patience and aloofness. I didn’t understand it for I’d had other dates and she was always very nice to them.
After we were married, living at …, and things began to go so badly between [1650] and me, [1548] would always take up for [1650]. He was never wrong, I was always wrong no matter whether it was [1650] or someone else.
I was never conscious of a feeling of jealousy or hate for [1548], and I don’t think she felt any hate for me though suspicion and jealousy remained a definite attitude on her part, and in the main I was always suspicious of her with the result that an atmosphere of antagonism was always present between us. This feeling of antagonism between us was so pronounced that we couldn’t enter the same room, whether or not we spoke to each other, but that others in the room would feel the tension. This attitude of suspicion and antagonism became a very definite condition between [1650] and me, though I didn’t recognize it as being the same until after I had gotten my Dearborn reading and attempted to get to the bottom of what was wrong with my association with [1650].
After getting my reading on Dearborn I began the difficult task of trying to apply the suggestions given to bring about a better relationship for all concerned. I began with not saying anything to either [1548] or [1650] unless I could say something constructive. In time I was able to change my attitude with the result that I became more aware of my own faults and eventually I was able to see their side of the story. It was at this time that I began to analyze my differences with others by telling myself “That we see in others, that we are guilty of.” “This is not a chance relationship but a purposeful one, use it in God’s way.” “Know that good and evil are set before thee each day, choose thou.” “Forgive if ye would be forgiven.” “You have to believe in others if you would have others believe in you.” “Love vaunteth not itself.” “True love forgiveth all things.” “Know in whom ye believeth and the author of that belief.” “Do not do anything that would be a question to thine own conscience but dare to do that ye believeth.”
As these thoughts became a part of my attitude, changes in my association with [1548] and [1650] began to take place and both reacted in very much the same manner. With [1650] I would acknowledge sincerely that the fault was mine and asked his help in doing what was best. With [1548] I would say nothing but attempt to apply an attitude of loving indifference. In time I had a sense of freedom within myself. [1548] became more irritated than ever for it seemed that she at least had some kind of release when I would bicker with her, and this change seemed to leave her frustrated. Eventually [1650] lapsed into a sense of security and it seemed to me we were further apart than ever. Both accused me of acting superior. [1548]‘s comment was that “it must be wonderful to always be right,” and [1650] cautioned me that people would be calling me Mrs. God before long. Apparently neither of them realized what had brought about the change.
After [1650] and I were separated I was able to detect more of an attitude of harmony with [1548] than I had experienced in a long time. With a couple of exceptions, incidents that took on proportions, we have had more harmony consistently than since I met [1650]. It is true, however, that I haven’t been thrown with her as much since my separation from [1650] but the change is unmistakable. The Dearborn reading did remind me not to remain in too close association with my family and I have been able to follow through with this suggestion since I’ve been separated from [1650]. My separation from [1650] took place as a result of his own decision. It is my sincere belief that our separation will make it possible for [1650] to regain his self respect and live a happier and more constructive life. This opinion which I voiced at the time of our separation has been verified by a letter from him which I received about 3 months ago.
Quite a few people have questioned me regarding my separation from [1650] in view of the fact that the readings told us that to separate would defeat both of us in this incarnation (refer first joint reading for exact wording). Nothing but such a warning would have kept us together, so difficult was our relationship at that time, and I firmly believe it would have been the destruction of us both if we had separated at that time. Furthermore, any changes would not be indicated since failure to, or the success of making our relationship permanent depended upon us. Lack of cooperation or application on the part of either would change the course of events. In the six years after the joint (first) reading, [1523-6], was given, I was given the opportunity to meet many karmic problems which have spiritually and mentally speaking, helped me to move from adolescence to maturity. (See first life reading, 1523-4.) Further, I believe the years of study and application prepared me to help Mr. and Mrs. Cayce more effectively in their greatest hour of need. I shall always be grateful and humble for being chosen as one of those who did help at that time, yes, I consider that it was a blessing to be among that group. I know that it was a privilege for I experienced seeing karma disappear, and the law of grace in action. The full realization of this came to me that night, the first few minutes after Mr. Cayce’s passing, as I stood with one hand on each of his feet repeating “The Lord’s Prayer.” I knew that “I had been about my Father’s business” and that He blessed me for it.
[1650]‘s reading suggested that he would do very well materially and otherwise in Connecticut, and he seems to be headed in that direction, for he is now in Philadelphia. I know that he was not unaffected by his contact with Mr. Cayce, and his life reading, though my intense interest in the Readings caused criticism and withdrawal on his part. Truth often has a way of sticking with us, especially if we can make the other fellow think we thought of it first. I firmly believe I fulfilled my obligations with [1650] for this incarnation. Not so with [1548] - there will be more to come - and so this report is only complete to date, perhaps not complete but sufficient, I hope.
I could add one comment that might prove interesting, it was my first reaction to the two questions, one about [1548], [1523-11, Par. 28-A], the other about [4930], [1523-11, Par. 30-A], I thought, now ain’t that something, I could give [1548] all kinds of advice and really get her straightened out if she would listen to me - and with [4930] - to advise him was something I had to be forced into. If that were turned around, I thought, how much easier it would be for me to carry out! Not strangely, [1548] has the same idea about me, which she tried to get over to me last summer when she was drinking. She said she loves me and only wants me to be happy. I told her that if she really wanted me to be happy she would let me make my own decisions and find my happiness through applying myself in my own way, she said that suited her fine BUT I should do this, and I shouldn’t do that, ad infinitum. She couldn’t bring herself to understand that there should not be a “but.” No doubt six years previously I would have agreed with her, provided I was doing the telling.
I do hope this will be a help to you, Gina. Any questions you care to present do so and I will do my best to enlarge upon what I have written. Just make your questions specific.
There is only one instance that I can think of that might be useful to you at this time. I don’t know just what, if anything, the readings had to say about it, but I remember hearing Mrs. [1100] say that Mr. [470]‘s sister [1895] is jealous of her, it seems that the sister was Mr. [470]‘s wife in some other incarnation. Maybe Gladys or Hugh Lynn will be able to give you a follow-up on this.
Any and all news from the Association is most welcome, printed or otherwise. The manner in which you handled the introduction to “What I Believe” By E. C. is super, by far the best piece of work I have seen of yours. It is remarkable how you caught the real personality and individuality of Mr. Cayce. The simplicity and the straightforward style used was ideal. Other writings in the same spirit of expression are bound to be a success. Let us have more of this style of writing. Keep up the good work.
Most sincerely, [1523]
R14. 8/13/46 Gina Cerminara’s ltr. to Mrs. [1523]:
Dear [1523]:
I shall have to be brief because my eyes are bothering me but I do want to thank you for the very excellent report you sent with regard to you and your sister. The additional information you gave about you and [1650] will, I am sure, be helpful later on when I come to that aspect of the matter. I only wish that more people realized, as you do, the importance and value of these reports.
Thanks for mentioning the [1100] case; I shall check up on it.
No, there’s no other question that occurs to me at the moment. Somebody once asked if it were necessary for a diplomat to know Latin and Greek. The answer was: No; it is sufficient to have forgotten them. Research work is something like that; one has to amass about ten times as much material as one can possibly use. But the amassing of it is necessary, if only to give a background, a subconscious, a reservoir. So if the material you sent me boils down to one paragraph, don’t feel that it was wasted effort on your part! [GD: See Gina’s use of it in her 1950 book, MANY MANSIONS, pages 208-209.]
I’m glad you liked the introduction I wrote; thanks for the good words.
My very best to you, and my sincerest thanks.
Yours, [Gina]
R15. 11/11/50 Report to GD by Mrs. [1523] on her present brother,
- [4930], who had been her companion of the Dearborn period, father of [2778]:
“I went dancing for a couple of hours at the American Legion, in a party with [4930] and [3479] and friends. [4930] was so obviously in his Dearborn background, going from table to table, patting different ones on the back - drinking etc. He came back to the table and started in asking me to sing his favorite number - “Lonesome Road” - wanting me to sing with the band, insisting that he would stand right there by me and hold my hand. Said he loved me better than anyone else in the world - and had been trying to figure out why he hadn’t married me [this in a laughing vein of course]. Said he would rather dance with me than anyone else he’d ever danced with. That is of particular interest in view of the fact that he knows nothing of his connection with me in Dearborn - in fact rejects anything that deals with the thought of reincarnation, etc.”
