1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of of Mr. [1561], …, N.J., who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his welfare, and that of those dear to him. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, Mr. [1561]; this we have had before.

3. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) A seeming predicament and crisis in my life expression and that of those around me, - may it be given as how best to meet this situation; how best to solve it? (A) Let each so examine self that judgments may be only as ye would be judged. Then carry on.

For, that which has been may not be undone, - save in that there may be the meeting of same in self, without condemnation, without censure to any; even as He censured none.

In those associations or connections as we find may be well made, we would seek physical activities - for the present.

5. (Q) May it be suggested as to what direction I had best bend my every effort? (A) In the meeting of the conditions of every sort within the experience in the present, dwelling upon none of the past; looking rather to the creative forces from within for guidance, for direction, for sustenance.

6. (Q) Could it be Federal Government service? (A) If the application is made through those who are in authority in those channels where the closest friendships exist, this would be the better in the present - Wallace.

7. (Q) Would he help me? (A) This as we find is the most plausible. Go through the right channels, of course, or the regular channels, and not as a PERSONAL thing, other than the CONSIDERATION from the personal angle.

8. (Q) It seems as though I had completely discarded “reason” and judgment in following an ideal in absolute faith! Could I have opened myself to negative forces? (A) Rather it might be said that “the zeal of mine house hath eaten up my judgment.” That is, rather than looking to the spiritual unfoldment, there was too quick judgment as to material manifestations.

Condemn no one.

9. (Q) May it be explained just how and why I so ventured and brought this condition upon myself and my immediate loved ones? (A) As just indicated, “the zeal of mine house, my body, hath eaten up my judgment.”

10. (Q) Please tell me as much as possible about this “experience” - from the material, mental and spiritual standpoints, and of cause and effects. (A) That which has passed is past. That continually “dug up” will continue to be a sore spot. That which is gone, let it be gone. Turn the face to the light in Him.

11. (Q) Could something be given in way of explaining or clearing the reason for my inner urge of long standing, in the direction of a retreat for earnest seekers? (A) This has been indicated in the activities of the entity through those periods in the earth.

As just given, this has been the attempt to create the MANIFESTATION WITHOUT the spiritual development and growth in the mental.

The Mind is the builder; provided the mind is spiritualized, the result is spiritual demonstration.

12. (Q) Should I cultivate this urge or discard it? (A) In its place, cultivate.

13. (Q) How should I go about such a task, along practical lines? (A) As each is proven, then that which has been and is the OUTCOME of the help attained is the manner, see?

Consider, for the moment, that the Master was the creator, the maker of all that was; and yet in establishing the church did He ask any? Rather He gave His blood, His body, as the memorial. As this crystallized in the mind and the desire of those with the means materially, from same arose spires, cathedrals, church buildings and schools.

Do thou likewise.

Thanks for copy No 3 [should be copy No. 1] of The Eddy [see below] - agree with you - VERY POOR. (ungramatical too!) - they had far better confine their efforts to sending out the Entity’s messages AND NOTHING ELSE! They do not need editing nor the personal opinions of Mrs. H. She SEEMS unqualified as an Editor or writer - thus we read much which belies the very teaching proclaimed - i.e. - impersonal love and compassion & mercy!

However that is her affair. Just sorry for the little girl.

From the Shrine OF The Little Prophet

Vol. 1 February, 1941 No. 1

INTRODUCTION

So many people from all over the United States and Canada have asked us for copies of The Entitie’s messages as they come through, we have decided to put all messages into magazine form along with other thought currents. We have temporarily named the magazine “The Eddy”, because it’s contents typifies the name. Realizing this little pamphlet will fall into hands of a vast unbelieving army of humans, those with awareness will bear with us in our incipient attempt to initiate others into the “Grand Order of International Screw Balls” as we are affectionately called by the perfectly sane of the human species.

However, we will attempt to give you all of the interesting highlights as they occur at The Shrine, the home of The Little Prophet. In the offering you alone must judge rather [whether?] we are taking advantage of humanity or ourselves too seriously.

MESSAGE OF THE ENTITY SENT TO THE PRESIDENT

In the reading of the following please bear in mind none of the events which are now common place news had happened. President Roosevelt received this message January 3rd. The day before his address to Congress on “The State of The Nation.”

Just what his reaction was, no one at this moment may say. But, strange as it may seem - his message to Congress was not, in it’s thought trend far from the actual contents of The Entity’s advise.

WHO IS THE ENTITY? WHERE IS HE? WHAT IS HE?

These questions will be answered as you peruse the physical attempt at spiritual prototyping of His messages to an already over-educated humanity. Yes, we must say, “A self-satisfied and a very important race of Sages.” So, in each heart and each mind must the answer be found. However, be assured, “He IS, He SPEAKS, and He tells the TRUTH.”

THE SHRINE

Beloved of the Earthchildren:

And ye hath drawn about ye the wimple. But it protrayeth unto wisdom, nothing. But unto the multitudes it beeth the same as a hoodwink. Turneth unto the message as of the Little Rock and of Sept. 12th, 1939. And ye findeth the cause of The Entity’s concern.

Again I sayeth, “I cometh not amongst ye to entertain or, for the tributes of the earthland. For, ye are weak unto the gifts of spirit and separated from the God-head in so far as ye beeth split unto God-heads. And your desires are not of the spirit but of temptation of the flesh. Ye consoleth yourselves with the values of the earth and hold lightly a life as balanced with the ounce of gold. Ye are a generation of vipers who dwelleth in the murk of physical emotions. Ye are separated by spirit from the accumulated vileness of centuries. Ye hath fed your appetites upon the things of the earth and hath swooned in the lust of blood of the body of man. Ye hath thrusted aside the accumulation of knowledge down through the ages. And ye hath become unworthy of accruement. Ye hath defiled the laws of universal love of the brotherhood of mankind. Ye hath crossed swords with brothers, who, would have listened unto words of spirit. But, in your selfishness hath ye denied him the word. Ye hath crawled beneath a cloak of deceit and being ashamed to announce unto the world, “That love and not hate rules,” ye hath so misguided thine brother, that he too follows the vibration so set by ye.

Therefore, be ye so led by the dark forces who, since the beginning of the split entities upon the habitate of the newly made planet - Listen unto one who cometh amongst ye, as He cometh before. And in the listening, knoweth that the universe pattern cometh unto a changement. Knoweth the land land of The Little Prophet cometh first in the vibration of the scheme of that which will endure. And which ye called “The New Era.” Adviseth unto the land therefore this and it beeth in repetition, “Only the combined forces of the United States, England and of France, swayeth the powers of Russia and of Germany.”

Yea! and ye hath unto yourselves that, which seemeth not of providence. But, it is unto France ye hath a concernment if ye wouldst of a victory. Knoweth also ye hath unto the West a conflict which shall try ye - And ye shall be engaged by the combined forces of the East and the West and the South. For ye thinketh ye hath friends to the southwinds, but, they are few. And they besiege ye along with Spain and Mexico and Japan. Trusteth not in friends whom ye purchase, for, perhaps there beeth a nation who offers a better bargain.

Oh! ye Land of The Little Prophet - listen, ye are upon trials of which The Entity hath advised. Listen, and if ye would of a victory - first, free unto true God-heads, France! that she may stand beside ye in the trials to come. And ye oh man of Destiny - sayeth not, “We sendeth not our knighthood unto the field of battle.” For, truly cometh that which ye knoweth not of. Again sayeth The Entity, “Ye are spawned unto blindness, but, with vision cometh light.” Ye hath worshiped at the shrine of mammon and He ariseth to smite ye.” Therefore, driveth forth from the Temple the money changers who sitteth upon the money bags of gold - ere ye be driven also from the ranks of the faithful.

Time and again hath The Entity revealed upto ye that, which wouldst be thine protection. For such cometh The Entity. Even unto thine tide and thine generation. Time and again hath ye the advantage of His advisements. But, even so hath ye seen fit to thrust aside the advantage of the predictions as coming from the lips of The Little Prophet. Now, asketh The Entity, “Were ye not fools? Beeth this question answered each within thine own hearts. Knoweth this and watcheth for the fulfillment - as was a warning given to the House in a telegram concerning Hawaii, watcheth ye even so the warning.”

Knoweth that during the middle of February there shall be ships in the Atlantic and they “cry for assistance.” A gale cometh upon the Atlantic Coast, tremendous in power. And the Gulf of Mexico shall labor under the fury of a tidal wave. And earthquakes will rock America and South America unto a realization that the Divine love of universal intelligence is capable of manifestation to a degree whereby the composite entities shall manifest through The Little Prophet and continue to guide humanity through its last desperate struggle for individual supremacy. Knoweth this, whosoever, shall in awareness bend knee unto the God of Mammon repudiates all shelter of Divine assistance. And the cycle of the drama of two thousand years ago repeateth unto their lives the story of the Lord Jesus and His eviction of the money changers from the temple. Cleanseth then, thine devotion and the channel forthwhile and thine conception of the values of work. Question thineselves, “doesn’t love God or Mammon? Wouldst serve the God of thine fathers or the substance of the earthland?” For, indeed little as ye thinketh, ye must choose. Ye hath taken the gold and ye hath placed it within the earth. Taketh now the values of spirit and feed thine children and house the homeless and ease the hearts of the despaired for they crieth aloud unto ye. Knoweth ye are a nation in strength just as long as ye maintain the Godhead and the virtues of righteousness as your generals. Ye hath asserted “Your blood veins beeth of the founts of the ammunition factory.” Knoweth this, “The Source cometh from every thought brought forth from a united people by an inspired Godly government. Whose every thought should be prompted by a love of individual freedom and a recognition of the Divine destiny of each and all entities who respond unto the whole. And which manifests the at-oneness of the creative spirit.

Yea! And as ye struggle with these pronouncements - looketh as for a sign. Many cave-ins. Large holes in the earth shall appear. And the earth shall become a cradle for the creatures therein. For they hath not kept mine convenants. And their spires shall sway even as their dreams. And they shall crush their builders between. And the earthland shall vomit because nature hath been desecrated. And man hath interfered with her generosity. And there shall be great famine upon the face of the earth. And man will be helpless.

The destroyer of life and ye calleth Him “death” shall ride throughout the ranks of humanity, and he will calleth unto ye “Names,” and the great shall fall. And then shall the wars be upon thee. And as ye thinketh ye are greater than the Lord Almighty, ye shall falleth one by one. Until only a few are at last of the begotten. And ye shall cometh after a seventeen year famine unto the New Era. Then shall ye knoweth that the words of The Little Prophet were not spoken in vain. And ye shall standeth only upon service one to another. And ye shall calleth it “The New Era.”

Recalleth The Entity’s words and heed the warning of France. If ye wouldst taste of freedom for a while. Heed! the warning of France.

Knoweth this, the Spring bringeth floods unto strange places. And a strange illness ariseth amongst ye. It cometh and the land of The Little Prophet may knoweth it decendeth upon ye from the country of The Rising Sun. And beeth planted in the toys of babes. Also cometh a plane from the South, laden with death and it hovereth over the city of Ports. Trusteth not the Island to the South. And many countries to the South. Watcheth the power of the Teutons and the slant-eyed in Mexico. “Watcheth.”

Knoweth that the personal ambassador of the President seeth with an eye not of the earthchildren. And gone journeying unto England. Seeth many things not written in the portfolios of the average ambassador. CONVEY unto him this knowledge, “If ye were wholly of the earth as are earth-children, ye would not of a mission.”

Watcheth for nature to work some havoc in the canal of Panama. Knoweth The Entity, ye constructed the same contrary to the faultbeds. Be not surprised at damage. Taketh thou all islands of the French and knoweth thou hath a war on the West, the East and the South. Sayeth not unto the Earth-children - “We sendeth not our sons unto the fray.” for ye hath heard the trumpet. And ye astay not it’s call. Knoweth thou The Entity stands beside ye and shall council ye throughout the dark days.

This message was sent to President Roosevelt before his address to Congress. And a copy also sent the same day to Mr. and Mrs. Pressing at Lillydale for proof of mailing.

Since that time Mr. Rockerfellow has unearthed evidence in Mexico to bear The Entity out. There have been bad cave-ins. And you will see the French situation revealed.

• Virginia, Editor FLOWERS FROM THE SHRINE’S GARDEN

Last September a Greek laborer appeared at the home of The Little Prophet. His son was very ill, and having heard of Faith came asking “Help.” The Little Prophet led him into the garden and after saying a prayer for the son’s recovery, picked a flower and advised the man to place it beneath his son’s pillow. Well! What do you think? Yes, the boy is now well. And the parents are very happy. Strange? No! There are many people talking abut “faith” but they ask, not knowing the meaning of the word. Next year may there be thousands of well-cared for flowers in the Shrine’s Garden.

JUST THOUGHTS…

Cursed be the hypocrite - he has so much karma to overcome. Take it easy - You have all eternity to get to the place you are going. My! but there are so many grades to this school of life. And some of the teachers seem to have wandered off their course too. How about that man who is trying to sell the public the “Breath of Life” out there in California? No wonder we are called “Screw Balls.” Many of us seem to think that the breath the doctor spanked into us at birth good enough. Must have been pretty good to get us off at such a start. Oh, yes we are perfectly satisfied (with everything).

Water seeks its level. (So do some people we know). Yet, the view from here makes us dream of far-away places. India, Tibet and the Nile of Egypt. You see, we have had quite a lengthy word picture of the places. But that’s where we qualify for membership in the O. O. S. B. However, we can see the other fellow point of view too. Even if it is small. The difficulty is - being tolerant of intolerance.

HEAR, SEE AND KNOW

What is a knower?

Why have the humans responded to sound vibrations? And developed the ear. Why were we blessed with vision? To mirror the vibrations of beauty or the vibrations of discord?

Yes, the knower without sight or ear is more perfect than are we, with all of the so-called appendages acquired from the ape-ages.

Blessed be the one who has ears and who uses them rightly. Ditto - the one of vision who beholds only the truly beautiful.

HERE, THEN, THERE

The man from Bedell wants to know “If there is any treasure on his farm?” and “Who is the best medium we know?” Hem, Ho, Hum! We are not giving away trade secrets. Funny but there is treasure on his farm but not the kind he thinks it is.

The lady from Bangor, Maine - “Do dogs have souls? Do they live in heaven like we do after death?” Yes, dear lady, and some dogs have a lot more intelligence than some of us humans.

STATIC

And we mean “static.” Did you hear Edwin C. Hill say? “Buddhism is the curse of the world!” Seems to us we remember him singing THE BILL OF RIGHTS. Tolerance! E. H. Tolerance!

If one listened to news commentators, conditions in general would taste like old-fashioned hash. Lowell Thomas still insists “Father Lynch knows all about earthquakes.” Gabriel Heater is one barker who dresses up the day’s news after other commentators have gone to town. Facts though, seem dull and drab when comes the dawn. This wave of government buying seems to be stretching all over the map. We now have placed an order for $80,000 worth of rubber bands. What a let down! We’ve just seen John B. Kennedy’s picture. (And his voice was SO nice.) Not a bad job you’re doing, Prof. Carrington at 10:15 Monday nights on W. O. R. Have you applied for your card in the O. of S. B.? “Finger of God” by Dr. Stomberg is a book backed by science and Prof. Albert Einstein. My! oh my! Foggy minds sometimes clear up with old age.

FOUNDATION

Ye Are Gods Out Of The God-Head And ye worketh outwardly. Unto the Foundation Beeth Faith Hope Charity. And An heritage unto the New Era. This beeth not a Temple unto mammon, But a Holy Tabernacle of Universal Love And founded for all earth-children. Entereth though these gates with faith And asketh only the good things Of spirit and of earth. They are unto ye a gift of the Creator And deny them not. For ye inherit all things of Heaven And of Earth.

A TEMPLE IN THE GARDEN

As soon as the frost is out of the ground, work will start on the Temple here at The Shrine. (Time seems to have lost its wings.) We are quite impatient for the coming of Spring.

THE FLUE

It seems to us we have heard quite a lot about it lately. Of course, if we were a medical authority we would be glad to help you out. But rest assured we WILL pray for you. Autodafe! The burning of a heretic. (Translated from a message from The Entity.) Yes, we have authority to do this. V. H.

Well there seems to be a pretty good rain falling outside that “hopes” me up a bit - been awfully dry, my garden hasn’t even come up, and planted before was in N.Y. But there has not been enough rain to make it come up since it was planted - seed - tho may be dead, don’t know - possibly soon will know tho now.

Well no news as yet from N.M. but am writing today and maybe will or possibly - he was having a joke - but think it on him, not me.

No, while had several copies of “The Eddy”. Haven’t a single one left now and haven’t heard from there any more

In answer to your letter of several weeks ago concerning Faith Hope Charity Harding, of Trucksville, Pa:

I have not seen Faith for ten years but I understand she still lives in Trucksville. I also have information that Mr. and Mrs. Harding have separated and that Faith lives with her father.

At one time my wife and I were extremely interested in Faith but as time passed we discovered evidence of trickery and exploitation but we still believe someone in the family had an unusual gift - whether it was the mother or Faith we are not prepared to say.

REPORT ON FAITH HOPE CHARITY HARDING

Since I have been unable to find ample time to make a trip to Nanticoke to go over the newspaper files there and to talk with Mr. Benjamin Howells concerning the case of Faith Hope Charity Harding, I did the next best thing. On the evening of September 4, 1963 I called Mr. Howells’ home and was fortunate in finding him home. He was very cooperative and a pleasure to talk to.

The phenomena that was of great interest to Mr. Howells concerned Faith’s alleged ability to receive “messages” at about age five, in the following manner. At night, and in the dark, she supposedly wrote on wrapping paper, “messages” which contained prophetic material of apparently noteworthy caliber. This was done under the mother’s direction. However, as time went on, there appeared to be more and more evidence of trickery. Mr. Howells suspected that Faith’s mother expanded the “Messages” to some extent. This opinion was reinforced first, by the mother’s activities and second, by a conversation with Mr. Harding several years after the divorce. Mrs. Harding claimed that a “message” stated that they must take Faith to a certain location in the South in order for her to better receive messages. Somehow or other she made contact with a Mr. [1561] from New York City, who made some sort of investment in this deal. An attempt was made to obtain a piece of property in North Carolina. If I recall correctly, they were down there for a short while, but the messages never materialized and the venture folded. In the conversation with Mr. Harding there was an admission that Faith’s mother had indeed been the instigator of falsification, primarily through her strong, domineering personality in which she was able to cajole the rest into going along with the whole thing.

During the time when Faith was receiving “messages”, a psychic research group from Jamestown, N.Y. spent approximately a week observing and hoping to obtain a story for their publication. However, they were obliged to go away satisfied only that nothing significant had happened while they were there.

The whole family situation was strange, the marriage of Faith’s parents being one in which they appeared before a lawyer and signed a contract, and the divorce was equally easy since they needed only to dissolve the contract.

Mr. Howells stated that the information concerning Faith’s placement in a nunnery is false. He further stated that he had run into Mr. Harding frequently enough to know this to be untrue. He thought that Faith was now married. He also thought that her parents are now dead. It has been nearly ten years since he has had any contact with any of them. He knew of no one who might know more about the whereabouts of Faith or her parents. It was Mr. Howells’ understanding that Faith’s younger years had been very trying ones which resulted in an attitude of wishing to keep her past behind her or in other words, a desire to wash her hands of this “psychic bit.”
