This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of August, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. Geo. L. Marquess, through Mrs. [2174], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time.

1. GC: You will have before you the enquiring mind of Geo. L. Marquess of Kilgore, Texas, and his prospective operations on the Carmerson Oil Corporation holdings, or vicinity. You will indicate locality for the deep test, identifying it in such a manner that he may make the location.

2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, George L. Marquess; together with the operations that have been in the vicinity of or on Carmerson Corporation holdings.

3. As we find, and as we have given, the Carmerson holdings are in the area where there may be found oil and gas in more than usual quantity and in the DEEP unusual quality.

4. We find that the area known as the southeastern portions of the Carolyn Hastings property, the Monroe Starnes property, is especially that area where there may be the expectations of the larger quantities of such located. This would be in keeping and in line with those activities in the upper strata in the east Texas area, or those areas south and east from the Gladewater field, and in line with the Hawkins field; and more in keeping with those developments that are somewhat north and west, that are now being developed.

5. This area as indicated, though, - the Hastings, both Monroe Starnes and Starnes, Jr. holdings, - is near where there may be the surety of production. For this is near the capstone of the lower stratas of more refined oil.

6. In some of this area production of gas in the upper strata will be profitable, but this is the area indicated for the deep test.

7. We are through for the present.
