This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of June, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [270].

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the improvement. You will answer any questions which I may ask you regarding this body, or the material affairs of this body.

2. EC: Now, we find the body greatly improved in many respects. There still is seen that which causes the disturbance throughout the body is the lack of the full coordination in elimination and assimilation, this especially in reference to functioning of organs. Hence the tendency toward a high blood pressure, and the feeling of the consciousness of the heart’s action, or a thumping to the super-sensitive conditions as produced in nerve system by this condition.

3. To relieve this, we would remove much of that condition in the head and neck by the manipulation, especially along the lines of the osteopathic] finger surgery, for this consciousness of this condition lies principally along that center in the cerebrospinal and in the sensory system, of the auditory nerves. Then in the 2nd and 3rd nerve of the face, and in the nerves and the centers of the 3rd, the 2nd, 4th cervical, and along the Eustachian Tube. Three to six (3 to 6) such treatments will remove this condition entirely.

4. Then, keeping those conditions as have been outlined, for the diet, and the activities of the system, we will bring the removal of this. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What is the possibility of disposing of the Glencoe lot in the near future? [See previous rdgs. 270-2 and 270-3.] (A) This, as we find, might have been disposed of sometime back - that is, around January - February, there was an offer, not satisfactory. There will again be another, about August 12th, and again in October. Neither of these, as we see, will be entirely satisfactory, as yet, but may be disposed of, should the body wish, but to the advantage of the entity, this may be disposed of in the middle of November, present year.

R1. 6/18/26 He wrote: “I am very well pleased with the rdg.”

R2. 6/24/26 He wrote: “Upon receipt of the reading made on June 14th, I asked Mr. [4212] to discuss the treatment with Dr. Sachsman [Robert B. Saxmann, D.C.] because Mr. [4212] has been seeing the Doctor every day or so and I also wanted to determine if he could handle.

“After looking over the reading, he advised Mr. [4212] that, in his opinion, there was something missing, that is, if the Section marked Xl, copy attached, is correct, then section marked X2 is incomplete. I am not sufficiently well-versed in the analysis of these matters to say one way or the other, but I feel that you are in a position to determine definitely.

“From what you say in the reading agrees with my ideas nicely except I never heard the term “finger surgery” used before and so far have not been able to gain a great deal of enlightenment. Possibly the question, if asked even extemporaneously might develop the name of a Doctor in Chicago who could give these treatments satisfactorily.”

R3. 6/29/26 EC’s ltr.: “Replying to yours of the 24th, I hardly know how to approach this, Mr. [270], for I don’t want to dispute a man’s word who knows more about the body than I do, but I honestly believe the doctor is in error regarding this. I do not mean to say that the readings I have given caused the profession who gives finger surgery to find same, but I will say this: One of the leaders in that profession gave his first finger surgery treatment by and through the directions of one of the readings. Finger surgery is a development in the last few years wholly in the osteopath’s profession. I do not know the name of anyone in Chicago, of course, that gives this treatment, but I am sure you will find one if you will locate one of the profession who has taken this special course in the last few years. In Norfolk we have one of the best one perhaps in the U.S. [Martyn L. Richardson, D.0.]. Why can’t you get this when you visit Norfolk this summer? In Birmingham, Alabama is the man who gave the treatment I referred to in the first part of the latter. [Percy Woodall, D.O.?]

“I hope this explanation will be satisfactory, and I feel sure, too, that anyone who has had an experience with the readings, and knows exactly what finger surgery is, would agree with you that the reading was correct. I certainly hope that I may see and hear from you real soon.”

R4. 6/30/26 Mr. [270] requested Physical Rdg. for Mr. [4673].

R5. 4/4/27 He wrote: “The following is a General Synopsis of the previous readings made of myself, and on which I wish a check primarily because normalcy does not seem to have been fully restored. In making this reading will you please utilize the following as the basis for a further report.

(1) This reading is for Mr. [270] - made at his request - and who now seeks further light on his physical condition and its relation to Social and Spiritual Entity of this body.

(2) Reference is therefore made to the First reading dated Nov. 26th, 1923, which reported this Body in good physical shape but showed some abnormal conditions, [270-1]. Then on March 27th, 1925 a second reading was made reporting these abnormal conditions had developed, [270-4] necessitating attention which was taken care of by a by a series of Elimination Baths at Martinsville, Ind. as suggested in the third reading of April 28th, 1925 [270-5]. Then on August 24th, 1925, a fourth reading suggested the removal of the Tonsils to relieve specific strain in the throat and permit of greater equalization of blood supply, [270-6] and this too received prompt attention, which subsequently was checked in a fifth reading from Virginia Beach on October 15th, 1925 [270-7] which reported a general up-building of the physical condition - yet still showing a lack of Metabolism, causing a pressure to Sensory System which by Osteopathic treatments was relieved and the body reported in a greatly improved state in the sixth and last reading made June 14th, 1926. [270-8]

(3) Now as the apparent enlargement in front and both sides of the neck has not subsided to a normal state nor has the pulsation of the heart decreased so it is not noticeable in times of stress, I should like to know if this Body is Still on the way to complete restoration of its physical condition, or will it be necessary to ultimately undergo further surgical treatment by having the enlargement removed. What parts or organs of this Body are directly affected by this Enlargement? Is an operation necessary? Would it be successful? Is there not some way it might be dissolved by medicinal treatment without physical impairment? If so will you subscribe this? Is the Radium Oar treated water I have been drinking providing the right kind of material for the Body.

(4) Are there any other conditions found in your analysis of this Physical Being that should receive other attention from the Physical or Spiritual forces?

(5) Should it develop that an operation is the only means whereby a complete restoration of the physical is possible, please say whether Dr. Carl B. Davis of Chicago, Ill. or Dr. Geo. W. Cryle [Crile] of Cleveland, Ohio is best qualified to handle?

B2. 6/2/26 He wrote: “Will you please schedule me for a physical reading and in doing so I would like specific information regarding the cause for the thumping or echo that I hear in my ears and which seems to be directly connected with the heart beat. This has been bothering me for some time as has been mentioned in previous readings. Treatment has been taken to correct but the difficulty has not been entirely eliminated.

“In one of your letters some months ago mention was made of the Glencoe lot and you inquired if I still had it. This is to advise that I have not as yet sold it, altho I would like to.
