This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Tutwiler Hotel, Room 1006, Birmingham, Alabama, this 8th day of October, 1922, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [5759].

Time of Reading Unknown. Dayton, Ohio.

1. DEK: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going into a quiet, restful sleep, a normal sleep. You will hear me when I speak and answer the questions and give the reading which I will ask of you. Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep. All of the organs of your body are functioning normally and perfectly, you are resting quietly and easily. You will hear me and give me this information. Now, let your mind go to … Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, and there locate the body of [3751], who is at that address at the present time. When you have located this body, go thoroughly over it, and tell us the conditions that you find, naming the abnormal conditions, giving the history of the case, the treatment for this condition, and its cure. After you have finished, we will ask you questions which you will answer in detail. [3751], … Avenue, Dayton, Ohio.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. The abnormal conditions we find in this body, [3751] we are speaking of, have to do with the glandular or gland forces, and out from the system itself, see? Not organic conditions, yet functioning organs affecting organs, you see.

3. Now these are conditions we find in this body, and they may be relieved, see? Through the blood supplying forces we find the blood carrying very little of the force needed to carry proper eliminating qualities, and this being carried more through the lymphatic forces than in circulation. See? Through the nerve force we find the seat of the trouble that has produced the condition existing in this body.

4. It is in the developing stage, see? From the base or the seat of the pneumogastric nerve, where the lymphatic forces connect with those governing the distribution of force from the intestinal tract, from the seat of the stomach here, you see, by the blood supplying force, or acting to these, we find the cellular forces broken here, see? This producing nausea at the stomach here, you see, pains here at times, you see, being the seat of the solar plexus forces, see? It being, or being caused by, the developed condition as was produced in the body from the birth here, you see. When the cords here were healed, and when we had taken into the system that which produced dilation, see, internally, then it produced broken tissue, which, in knitting, picked up the lymphatic forces that should be distributed in the hepatic circulation; hence the condition of the force as shown through the intestinal tract without action on by the system as the distributing forces should be thrown off, see? Hence the color and the condition we find in the feces, [stool] itself, see? This force, or poisons, that should be eliminated through these channels are carried through the lymphatic forces towards the upper portion of the body here, and so through the lymphatic cellular to the capillary circulation, then to the 5th and 6th cervical, where it will come in contact then with the ganglia of the sympathetic forces that pass through the lymphatic forces that reaches to the face and through the thyroid gland, see? This taking effect then through the face and head, showing the abrasions over the body, see? This is the condition as we find in this body, and the cause, and that which produces it, see?

5. To assist the conditions to bring about the normal forces in this body, first we would give to this system this: At the 9th dorsal ganglia, where the seat of the lymphatic forces come across the center of the body, in this we would inject above the navel or the center of the body, in this we would inject one-one hundred and eightieth grain of atropine. The action is to the lymphatic circulation. That is to heed or to prevent the reaction that is taking place so fast within the system, see?

6. Then by heat sweats to the body taking from the lymphatic circulation those poisons that are now besetting it.

7. Then by manipulation, osteopathic forces, adjusting the conditions we find at the 9th dorsal, at the 6th dorsal, and at the 5th and 6th cervicals.

8. For these conditions as we have given here, you will find we will bring to this body the proper development, the proper distribution of forces, and cause the proper eliminations through their proper channels, see? Do that.

9. (Q) Is there any condition of the lung in this body, in the way of a growth? (A) The seat of the trouble affecting the lung is from the 6th dorsal ganglia; that affects all of the forces in the lung. This produces the condition that we have through the lung. This is reflex. The lymphatic forces affect this body. Do as we have given here, and we will bring the normal forces to this body.

10. (Q) How long will it take this body, if these forces are followed as directed, to become natural and normal? (A) Six months, to become normal condition, and perfectly free of all these conditions. We will reduce the body greatly by sweats, you see, but this must be done to alleviate the condition now existing in the lymphatic circulation, and we must start the proper distribution of forces through the adjustment of the conditions at these vertebrae that have been given. R2. 5/28/49 GD’s note: Linden Shroyer gave this bit of background on this case, in a report to GD, HLC, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Dillman and Mrs. Marjorie Bonney, re how he became interested in EC’s work:

“The child had developed bumps all over his body which the medical doctors called sarcoma, and they had told the parents that nothing could be done. The father [5759] met David E. Kahn on the train to Chicago; Dave was still in his Army uniform as a captain. He told them about Mr. Cayce. So, having nothing to lose, since the doctors had given the child up, Mr. [5759] and Dave got on the train to Birmingham where Mr. Cayce was at the time, and the first of a series of 17 readings was given. Injections of Atropine had to be given by an M.D. They went to Dr. William A. Gravett for osteopathic treatments. During the next few months the parents would wire or write, whenever it seemed that a change took place in the condition of the boy, and Mr. Cayce would give another reading promptly. In June of the following year Mr. Cayce came to Dayton and he gave another reading for the child, the first one I had witnessed [3751-13].” [See continuation of Linden Shroyer’s report under 3751-13.]
